Additional rooms include a laundry room with front-loading washer and dryer, and an outdoor shower with hot water.

Or go fishing for Kokanee salmon and trophy-sized rainbow trout; enjoy a barbeque with family and friends; and end the evening with a campfire, games around the dining table, or a movie in surround sound. Lovely home in and outstanding setting

  • 5 of 5

My family and I loved our stay in your home! Awesome views of the lake no matter what we were doing, and very comfortable facilities. Very quiet area where it was so easy to relax. Previous reviews indicate the wifi is a bit slow, but that only seemed to be an issue for me when looking at maps of the area online (to research daytrips and activities). I had good cellular data coverage while outside. I guess I don't care much about the internet at such a beautiful place!

Very nice property. I'd definitely recommend.

Best Summer Vaca Ever!!

  • 4 of 5

Our family had a wonderful week at the Paradise Cabin on Bitterroot Lake. The accommodations were just as described. The home was well equipped, clean and maintained. The sleeping quarters are best suited to a family with two adults and up to 5 children. We had 3 adult couples, 2 kids and 2 dogs but we made everything work! The location is spectacular, clear lake water, fresh air, warm days and cool nights....could not have asked for a more perfect setting to enjoy Montana and all its beauty. Days were spent fishing, swimming and exploring the surrounding area. The drive to Glacier National Park was well worth it! Evenings we would cook a big family meal for all to enjoy and late nights were spent around the lakeside fire pit toasting marsh mellows, telling fish stories and a lot of laughter. We hope to return for a future visit and would definitely recommend to anyone seeking a private lake front vacation spot. Thank you for sharing your home with us. Cindy, Las Vegas, NV

Amazing lake home

  • 5 of 5

This house is perfect for a family vacation. The house is beautiful and unique in its design. There are great views of the lake from every room. Plenty of space for relaxing and many toys and games to keep busy. Play on the warm lake on sunny days, relax by the fire on rainy days. Take day trips to Glacier, Flathead lake, or even Canada. Perfect location.

Great Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week at Paradise on Bitterroot with our family of 5. It was a wonderful location right on the lake. The water is crystal clear and the kids were able to play in the lake for hours. The home is a great place to start and end your days as you are away from town and can watch the sun set over the lake. We would absolutely stay here again, one of the best vacations our family has had.

Better than Disneyland!!!!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 6 to include 3 children (5,7, and 9) +Dog stayed at Paradise on Bitterroot Lake last summer for 10 days. Bitterroot Lake is a best keep secret for the Kalispell area. It is mostly locals and not many tourists. Our kids spent HOURS playing in the lake (which was gorgeous)! You can go out on the lake and even at about 10-15 feet deep you can still see clearly to the bottom. The house was delightful and charming all in one. It had everything we needed and more. We rented a canoe from in town for the week, purchased some inexpensive inner tubes and with that the kids never wanted to come inside. They fished, we made smores in the fire pit and truly had the time of our lives! Every other day we would go into the National Park and hike and sightsee and on the off day we would just hang out at the house and enjoy one another. We haven't taken the children to Disneyland yet and so we asked them if they wanted to go there next summer for our next vacation. With a resounding "NO!", they unanimously stated that they wanted to come back to this house on this lake! Now that is a testament to sort of vacation we had! Thank you, thank you Angela!!! Your home is perfect and you were a delight to work with! We will definitely be back!

Aesthetic triumph, functionally lacking

  • 3 of 5

We enjoyed our stay, but it was suboptimal.

•Home is beautiful inside and out.

•Gorgeous lakefront site.

•Firewood provided for fire pit.

•Most appliances are high quality.

•Of the 3 bedrooms, only 1 is suitable for adults. The others are only fit for kids; the beds are located in lofts. If your group includes more than 1 adult couple, then someone will be relegated to 2nd-class status on a fold-out futon. There's only 1 traditional bed in the house: in the master upstairs.

•No A/C. At this latitude it's not uncommon to find homes that have an attic fan instead of A/C. I was stunned to discover this home has neither. Consequently if you or your loved ones have a medical condition that requires a more controlled climate on hot days, you may want to reconsider.

•No television content. What, you say? Isn't there a LCD TV? Yes, there is but the only connected inputs are from a DVD player. THERE IS NEITHER CABLE NOR SATELLITE at this house. So unless you're willing to settle for DVDs, or unless you bring your own Roku or other internet media device, too bad.

•No TV in the main living area. The only TV is in the media room. A big problem when a second adult couple was forced to sleep on the fold-out futon in the media room and you want to watch TV.

•Slow internet connection. Barely passable.

•Ant problem. When we arrived, there were hundreds of large black carpenter ants in the living room. Most were clustered on the wood beams near the south windows, where it was apparent the ants had a point of entry. We contacted Angela immediately upon arrival and she arrived with a can of Raid and some ant baits. This temporarily solved the problem, but a professional exterminator should offer a more lasting solution.

•Lack of additional furnishings in the bedroom areas. Especially true in the master bedroom, where there is no dresser, no nightstand, and only a tiny bedside table with under 1 sq.ft. of surface area. Suitcases and clothes are relegated to the floor, although the closet is an option for hanging some items. Need a bedside spot for a CPAP machine or to charge your phone? Too bad.

•Dearth of kitchenware. The kitchen is beautiful, but without a blender we couldn’t make mixed drinks, and without tongs it was difficult to grill. Surprising these little things were overlooked.

Not recommended if anyone in your party has mobility issues. Various rooms on the main level are raised or sunken; one must ascend and descend frequently.

Owner's Response: We appreciate a few of the legitimate criticisms that we have already begun to address. The rest is false. *BEDS: we have standard adult beds (please see photos), and two are in lofts, which may pose difficulty to those with mobility issues. Yes, rooms other than the Master bedroom are "second-class" in that way. In addition to the 3 bedrooms, there is the media room that includes a futon. There is also a full-sized hide-a-bed in the living room. *CABLE/SATELLITE: The attentive reader of our VRBO site will see that this amenity is not included. We exclude satellite/cable for two reasons: (1) many of our guests come to Montana to enjoy the outdoors, although we provide a very large, brand new Plasma television with DVD players and HDMI-capability for streaming from laptop; and (2) we lower the rental cost for you. *INTERNET: Technology is more limited in Marion, Montana (population=900) than for the reviewers from Statesville, North Carolina (population=25,000), or our good friends in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The internet speed is sufficient, and we’ve never had complaints. *AC: None is needed, given our use of ICF (insulated concrete form) walls, and passive/solar heating/cooling with large ceiling fan. *ANTS: the reviewer failed to mention that they called at 9 pm and that hiring a terminator for a handful of ants made no sense, nor was it healthy to bomb a house with tenants in there and whose elder parents had medical and breathing problems (at least one used a CPAP machine). We didn't want to take the risk. We also consider the impact of poisonous sprays on future tenants (many come with children!). *DRESSERS/TABLES: We have added these to increase storage space. We have added more endtables. *KITCHENWARE: We replenish kitchenware throughout the summer, as they disappear. While we hope that tenants return kitchenware to the house, sometimes people forget. We do our best to replace these items quickly. **CONCLUSION: We are sorry the reviewer did not reach out to us, beyond the ants, as we would have jumped to help. We agree that the house presents challenges for folks with mobility problems or in a wheelchair (house is listed as 2-story). *Vacations are few for most of us, and we enjoy taking care of you during yours. We agree with the reviewer’s title for our lakehouse – an “aesthetic triumph” - and we take pride in the fact than many families have found our home a paradise. We think you will too, and we hope to accommodate you. All best, Angela.
