This detached, character holiday cottage has a lovely mature garden complete with private hot tub. Close to the start of Offa’s Dyke this property is a short stroll from Prestatyn with all its amenities, beach, cinema, pubs and restaurants, and is close to some great walks. The Clwydian Hills are nearby as is Rhuddlan Castle. Chester is 30 miles and Llandudno, Conwy and the Snowdonia National Park are nearby. Shop and pub 500 yards, restaurant 700 yards.
This cottage was spotlessly clean and spacious. The kitchen is large and very well stocked with utensils, cutlery, crockery etc. It also features a fridge/ freezer, separate freezer and dishwasher. We had a nice surprise when we opened the fridge as there was milk and a Welsh cakes waiting for us.
The bed was comfortable and there was lots of wardrobe space with plenty of hangers too. The bathroom is lovely with a big claw foot bath plus a walk in shower. It was a warm cottage with a nice gas fire in the lounge.
The garden is also nice and all fenced in so is suitable for a dog. The best thing by far though is the hot tub which is really hot, even in the winter. The controls are easy to use and the owners kept an eye on the chlorine levels for us.
The location of the property is also great. The shops and supermarkets are just a 5 min walk away and there are plenty of restaurants and take aways available too. The beach is just a 5 min drive away. We particularly liked Talacre lighthouse and beach plus Gronant Dunes as they were less busy than Prestatyn beach so the dog could run more freely.
The only disappointment was the wifi. There are wifi repeaters around the property. However, we paid an extra £8 for this for the week and the signal is really weak. We couldn't get our Amazon fire stick to work at all and even our phones kept dropping our.
The other thing to be aware of is that the owners are often on site during the week. There is a garage at the end of the garden and they offer treatments in a room above it. This meant that we bumped into them and their customers. Whilst they were not intrusive, we had our dog with us and the back door opens into the part of the garden that they were walking through.
