The heart of Swanage is just a few hundred yards from this characterful terraced holiday home, with a good selection of eateries and shops. Just a short walk leads you to the World Heritage Jurassic Coastal Path and Durlston Country Park. All can enjoy Swanage Steam Railway, and a short drive away is Monkey World and the National Trust site of Abbotsbury Swannery and Gardens. Shop, pub and restaurant 250 yards.. Ground floor: Living room with wooden floor. Kitchen with dining area and tiled floor. Steep stairs to first floor: 1 twin bedroom. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet. Steep stairs to second floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin. . Woodburner in living room (initial fuel included). Gas central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Blu-ray. Could do with improving

Our expectations were not met alas! The photos of the interior of the cottage from the advertisement gave us a different perception of the property than when we saw it. We found parking quite difficult to say the least (we were told but not expecting it to be so atrocious!!), it was in a narrow unmade road our car was damaged ,We found the cottage somewhat disappointing obviously lacking in maintenance ,clenliness superficial, we could see the garden quite overrun by weeds needing a trim , builders materials still left in situ ,indoors too many of the owner belongings and ornaments were occuping much of the space in the small living area and elsewhere.The only place to eat was located in the small kitchen where we found almost impossible to cook in comfort a proper meal and accomodate 5 people plus baby around the table without a struggle, and ingenuity , it kind spoiled the mood of the holiday for us thinking of dealing with such restrictions in the kitchen after a good traveling day! , we were also surprised to find a lack of bucket and mop to clean the floors so cleaning of the floors was done on all fours!We found the windows of the cottage quite difficult to open some would not open at all.Towels and bath mats were mostly threadbare and they did not need to be, the steep stairs to the bedrooms were quite challenging especially if one is not 21!!!. or is asmatic . Contrary to the comments of other families we are sorry to say that for us the cottage lacked many basic essentials to make it really a place to relax and come back to .Hopefully the owners will take on board constructive criticism and improve these premises.
