This lovely traditional house is located in one of the most privileged areas of Mallorca. The property belongs to a historical finca in Llucalcari, and has a front garden with different dining areas and stunning sea of the Mediterranean waters. It comes with a private parking and has 3 double bedrooms, fully equipped bathroom, kitchen and an spacious living room with a dining area. There is also a wonderful covered terrace perfect for the sunny meals. Sun loungers are provided as well. In a traditional, charming and comfortable style, this property is simply perfect for a relaxing holiday. Have a fresh lemon juice or a glass of wine while reading a good book under a tree, enjoy a Mediterranean salad while looking at the sea, walk to the little rocky beach for a stunning snorkeling session or discover some of the wonderful trails around Deia... these are some of the things you can do being here.
Charming converted wine cellar off the main road to Deia. Delightful owners who met us at the start and the end of our stay.
The accommodation is part of a much larger house although this was not clear from the website. We visited in October as the weather was turning but I'm sure the small cosy garden full of mature bushes would provide excellent shade in the summer. In October it suffers from a little dampness that perhaps would be different in July.
The accommodation has a unique floor layout with the only bathroom accessible from the master bedroom or outside. Make sure you know your fellow guests well or choose friends with large bladders. A chamber pot is supplied.
From the accommodation you can walk down to a stony beach. Part of the path is paved but the portion down to the beach is heavily eroded. Be prepared to clamber and leave the pram at home. The same path can take you into Soller or to Cala Deia. Recommended but remember the restaurant in Cala Deia only takes cash, remember your swim stuff and your head for heights.
The accommodation is very well equipped with air con in the main sitting area but no dishwasher and no wifi. There is good mobile reception in the garden so make sure your roaming is flexible.
Nearest shops are in Deia - 2 well equipped but relatively expensive mini markets. We found supermarkets in soller that were a little bigger but had difficult parking or were hidden away in a maze of one way streets.
Nearby places to visit - loads but do venture to sa calobra. A mighty cycle but much easier by car.
Nearest Hotel is adults only. Not sure whether that is a euphemism for something but as we had kids in tow we never went. Loads of eateries in Deia with taxis/bus/ donkey to take you home
In all a lovely wee flat - full of charm. Perhaps not quite what we expected from the website but defintely recommended. Next time we would stop at the Eroski next to Decathlon in Palma and stock up on our way from the airport - it's 5 euros per pass through the tunnel
Llucalcari is a nice little hamlet situated on the coast of the Serra de Tramuntana, some three kilometres from Deià towards Sóller. 85 metres above the sea, it belongs to the municipality of Deià and comprises some twenty buildings that conform to the most idyllic images of Mallorca.
From Llucalcari via the old stone steps that descend between terraces of olive trees and pines, one can reach the tiny singly and rocky cove, es Canyaret, that is appreciated for its transparent water and the freshwater fountain from the mountains. A perfect spot for snorkelling, many fishes and plants can be seen easily. In this cove some people use the pools formed by the water to cover their bodies with mud, which is supposed to have relaxing properties.
