Through the Castle Gates Historical Romantic Adventure Awaits!

This is our third visit to Obidos and still find it enchanting. Step back in time and enjoy! We would recommend it for a great getaway. The horse and carts chauferring the tourists around the busy narrow cobbled streets. The dim lit pubs beckoning one to sample their beers and ginga. Try not to miss the Chocolate Festival - definitely worth a visit. Truly romantic! There is a knack driving and parking within the castle walls- small car advisable. Lovely quaint home with welcome packs. Not noisy. Good Wi-Fi. Quite a comfortable bed. A good assortment of kitchen equipment. No handrail on stairs. Two wc's and good shower Lighting adequate for most. Tv wasn't important to us. Thanks to Paula for making us feel welcome.

Wonderful Winter Getaway

My husband and I travelled to Obidos the day after Christmas. The house was even lovelier in person! It's a very cozy and open space. Very well kept and clean. We enjoyed using the fireplace! We were greeted by a lovely woman, named Maria, who made us feel very welcome. We were surprised to have fruit, milk, bread and cake waiting for us when we arrived! This was our first visit to Obidos and its a lovely town with family friendly feel. During this time of year there are lots of Christmas decorations and music which we enjoyed. The weather was lovely compared to England and the food was absolutely delicious! We really enjoyed the central location of the house and we could easily walk to the nearest grocery store to get food to cook. Though we preferred to stay in Obidos for the course of our visit, there are lots of surrounding towns which we could have gone to see - hopefully we will do this another time. The owner, Paula, was very kind and very helpful! She quickly responded to any questions we had while planning and preparing for our trip. We hope to be able to visit again and when we do we hope to be able to stay here!

Beautiful hideaway

We spent two weeks at Paula's house in Obidos this July 2016. It is comfortably furnished with good quality towels and sheets and furniture. There was some fruit, bread, butter, coffee and milk for our arrival which was very welcome after a long day's journey. The town of Obidos is well worth a visit and we felt very welcome. Concha gave us some good places to eat locally and we made good use of her suggestions; thank you Concha! We recommend Paula's house very much and suggest anyone looking to visit Obidos stays in her house. Obrigada Paula! Best wishes from Barbara and Richard.

Awesome old place in a really old city!

This is an amazing little house in a cool old walled city. They’ve done a great job giving you some of the amenities from the present, while also preserving much of the past the house. If you happen to visit in the winter keep in mind this is a very old home and you’re gonna wanna bring some cosy clothing and slippers. Host was generous and responsive. Would stay again but would rather visit again when it’s warmer lol
