About Vince Leader

I retired from the city after a 28 year career , since 2008 I run a Fishery in Kent and run a small property business.

My wife Jacqui and I have been married for 25 years and we have two grown up daughters.

The lodge is very dear to us, we have had so many great holiday memories from here, now that our daughters are older we do not use it as much and therefore we thought we would rent it, when we are not using it , so hopefully you too can feel the wonderful atmosphere of this lovely family lodge.

Vince Leader purchased this house in 2000

Why Vince Leader chose Cotswold district

The setting is truly unique, it is designed in a New England style within the Watermark site.

The lodge occupies a central plot, looking down the lake and enjoys sunshine all day.

There are so many things to do there , its such a great location to explore the whole of the Cotswolds from then retreat to your little oasis. Because of the triple set of double french doors and the glass front on the decking you really feel the idea of bringing the outside in when sitting in the lounge, although we spend most of our relaxing time on the decking outside.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had such a wonderful stay at your lodge. The level of decor is outstanding and everything is home from home. It is in an excellent location, close to Cirencester and also to the countryside for country walks and watersports are only across the road. This lodge would suit all age ranges. We cannot wait to come back again next year!

An Absolute Gem of a Property

  • 5 of 5

Having never been to the Cotswolds, we were very excited about staying here and we were not disappointed. This property came highly recommended and I must say, having stayed in properties all over the world, we were blown away. The situation of the property was stunning, overlooking a lake in a very well maintained row of properties. It was also ideal for myself, being a runner, as it was close to a canal and woodland which was perfect for running. The actual property was decorated to a very high standard and all the amenities within were stunning. It was scrupulously clean and tidy. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking equipment (ideal for us as we didn't really want to eat out often). The owners had even thoughtfully left washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, kitchen roll, washing up cloths and tea towels for us. The bedrooms and ensuites, again, were tastefully decorated and very very clean. There were more than enough different sized towels left out for us on our beds and again plenty of toilet rolls were thoughtfully left for us. The televisions were in perfect working condition and we were able to watch everything we wanted, we could even use our laptops through the television to watch different films. Internet speed was very good. There was also a BBQ outside but, being the time of year, it was too cold for us to go out and BBQ. The owners also thoughtfully left a welcome book which contained everything we needed to know about the property, suggestions for places to visit and even local numbers for eateries and takeaways. I feel a lot of thought has gone into this property to ensure that those who stay here feel most welcome and I actually felt very at home. I enjoyed my stay so much that I will definitely be rebooking for later in the year.

A Relaxing stay

  • 3 of 5

The house was modern and clean and the view of the lake was beautiful. It was lovely and spacious downstairs for the six of us. The amenities were though very basic and did not meet our expectations. The TV system was totally inadequate for a holiday period as we could only access 5 terrestrial channels plus Sky News. There were no tea towels (we had to buy our own), only two towels per person, no kitchen roll or extra loo rolls. We also needed light bulbs as some weren't working, and there were no spares available. Having said this, we did have a very relaxing, enjoyable stay here over New Year.

Owner's Response: I’m glad that you found the accommodation spacious, but I’m disappointed to hear that you felt the amenities basic, each of the bathrooms has recently been modernised to a very high spec there are new double glazed doors and windows through out. The decking area is the new composite decking with tinted glass, the kitchen has all the normal mod cons including a dishwasher , a new washing machine , hob , oven and microwave. The heating system has been upgraded new boiler and radiators. The Tv is a new 50 inch Lcd tv ,with wifi through out throughout the lodge. I’m not sure how many towels you expect per person in self catering accommodation for four nights, I would consider 2 towels each adequate, if you needed to change them within your four night stay , you could have contacted me and I would have asked our professional cleaning and linen team to have provided you with that additional service. I have asked the cleaning team to look into the fact that you were not supplied tea towels these are always normally provided, I normally have extra toilet rolls in the cupboard , again if you would have contacted me the cleaners would have provided more, however I except they should have been there. As regards a bulb not working , these can blow at anytime the maintenance team that I use would have changed it immediately if you had contacted me. I subscribe to sky for the sports package and you should have been able to watch a multitude of sky channels. If you have Sky at home you will know that occasionally it needs a re boot, If you had of contacted me I would have been able to explain what to do. You are the first person that hasn’t awarded us five stars, you are also the only person where we have felt it necessary to keep a £250 deposit, the damage to the work surface you caused, costs £1085 as the whole thing needs replacing, due to the very large burn mark you somehow managed to put in it! I feel we have treated you very kindly due to the damage you have caused, its a pity you didn’t mention that in your review.

Outstanding vacation rental

  • 5 of 5

This was a fantastic place to stay while enjoying the beautiful area. The home is exquisitely furnished and has some really nice extras. The outdoor grill and deck are wonderful....even in the cooler months! The bathrooms are all updated and modern. The kitchen has all the amenities plus a washer/dryer. We would highly recommend this for a couple or families.

Great place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We arrived with 3 children, and from the first minute we felt like at home. Is well located. So we have been able to visit different villages and cities around. The house has everything you need. From the essentials to the top requested things. Cirencister is 10 minutes away (Tesco,Lidl.etc)

Do not try to find anything else, this is the place!!! Enjoy your stay. I am sure that my family or mi friend will visit this place soon.
