About Fiona Horspool
I was born in Buxton and moved to Pembrokeshire, where I still live, when I was three. I still have family in the Peak District and we decided to buy a cottage back in the village where my family has lived for generations. I work in health and social care with children and young people and have a family of my own.
Fiona Horspool purchased this Cottage in 2015
Why Fiona Horspool chose Buxton
We love to visit Derbyshire to see family and friends and also to enjoy the stunning landscape. We are steadily working our way through different walks in the Peaks with our two dogs and enjoy finding new places. Derbyshire has so much to offer to the holiday maker and the location of the cottage affords tranquillity yet is close to the spa town of Buxton where there is always an event worth a visit.
What makes this Cottage unique
What we like most of all about the cottage is the beautiful location; it is full of character and is a great place to relax and enjoy outstanding views from the decking area. The log burner makes for a homely environment when it is cold outside. The bedrooms are either side of the living room which allows privacy for both occupants.

Wonderful for a walking holiday
A wam welcome, wonderful views, well equipped and cozy. Would love to stay in summer to take advantage of the garden, decked area & BBQ.

Cosy and comfortable, perfect for our family Christmas
The potting shed was absolutely lovely in all respects. Comfortable, cosy, beautiful views even in the mist of December, lovely and quiet. Fiona had provided everything we needed including everything for a baby, and had made the house feel very seasonal and festive.
The games room was a real bonus, equipped with loads of games and toys to keep us all happy and amused.
We look forward to coming back to the potting shed for another holiday!

Perfect cottage stay in beautiful surroundings. Will be coming to the Potting Shed again. The children adored the games room, and I adored the log burner. Thank you so much for the hospitality.
Thank you Ruth for your feedback, I’m glad you and your children enjoyed the cottage. I’ll be getting some more games for next year for indoors and outdoors. We have just built a secure bike store and block paved at the cottage to improve facilities for guests. We hope to welcome you again one day.
