About this property

Peaceful Highland cottage sleeping 6 in comfort

The house is let as a whole, with one double and two twin bedrooms. There is a large, well-equipped kitchen and dining room with a lovely open plan sitting room with a log stove. There is a new hard tennis court you can use, and fishing is often available during May, June & July.
Dalmigavie lies at 1100 ft, and is surrounded by miles of empty 'Monahdliath Mountains'. There is a long track from the house up the glen and then into the hills. During the Spring when birds are nesting, we ask guests to avoid walking on the open hill, especially with dogs. Almost every British bird of prey has been seen at Dalmigavie. David and Lorna Paton, look after everything at Dalmigavie, and have been there for 18 years. They live in a cottage close by.

Dalmigavie is 6 miles off the A9 near Tomatin. It is 40 minutes from Inverness airport, and 20 minutes from the station at Carrbridge. Two hours from Edinburgh. A car is needed, and the last 100m to the house is up a steep vehicular track. There are several good golf courses in the vicinity. The coast is 45 minutes away. The weather can be wild and cold, or warm and balmy, sometimes on successive days!

House rules: No dogs allowed in the house accept by prior arrangement. No smoking.
Dogs to be kept on leads outside (sheep, deer, red squirrels) and nesting birds in the Spring - woodcock, curlew, oyster catchers, green plovers, grouse, amongst others.

Please treat the house, grounds, river and hills with care and respect. Once you cross our bridge over the river Findhorn into Dalmigavie estate you enter a little world of your own.

If you enjoy fishing, you can take a day or two of salmon fishing on 4 miles of the Findhorn at Dalmigavie at a cost of £55 per day. Rods are not provided. Let us know in advance in case it is already booked. We can take up to 4 rods at a time.

Lovely cottage in a great location
Me, my wife and two small children (2 and 4) had a lovely time in the Keeper's cottage – the perfect size for a family of four set in a beautiful location with everything we needed for our long weekend away. The log fire was delightful (and well stocked with coal and wood) and the surroundings of the cottage were idyllic. Would definitely stay again!

Peaceful Getaway in the Scottish Countryside
We had a wonderful time staying at this charming cottage in Inverness. The location was perfect, surrounded by lovely countryside and cows. The cozy interior provided everything we needed for a comfortable getaway. The fully-equipped kitchen allowed us to cook delicious meals. We loved sitting by the crackling fireplace. The cottage was clean, well-maintained and comfortable. The detailed information provided to us. We couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable and relaxing vacation in this beautiful setting.

Magical!!
We loved our stay here and words can’t do it justice. Being able to wake up to deer outside our window, sitting out on the bench with a cup of coffee and watching the river and mountains in the valley. The cottage itself is very well stocked and we managed to cook a Sunday roast (although make sure to bring your own tea/coffee/cooking oil etc and any other essential food items). The cottage is very cosey and we felt right at home straight away, we were sad to leave and will make sure to book another stay in the future!
