About the property

The apartment is accessed via a lift. Once inside, this four-bedroom apartment is filled with natural sunlight and has spectacular views over the baroque façade of the old tobacco factory and the remains of the magnificent perimeter wall of the Real Alcázar gardens. The property is very spacious, a rarity today in old buildings in the city centre, and full of structural and decorative details common to Sevillian architecture of that period. White predominates throughout, emphasizing the high ceilings and neoclassical decorative details, such as the pillars and mouldings. The painted wood doors, windows and balconies are an original feature, as is the magnificent marble fireplace in the main living area. The marble and terracotta floors throughout add to the high quality theme.

The bright living room opens onto the San Fernando street via two beautiful wrought-iron balconies. There is a magnificent fireplace around which the main sitting area is arranged, with two large modern sofas, easy chairs and a modern coffee table which sit naturally alongside antiques, more classical pieces of furniture, and reproductions of old paintings on the walls. There is a built-in bookcase and a work area with a period writing table and appropriate lighting. The adjacent dining room has a beautiful period table and a set of antique chairs. The large kitchen has a clearly defined working area and eating area. It opens to the dining room via a serving hatch. There is one double bedroom near the entrance hall, overlooking San Fernando street, and the other three bedrooms overlook the perimeter wall of the Alcázar. Amenities include air conditioning/heating and Wi-Fi internet.

Seville Apartment

The location of this apartment is great. With nice restaurants along the same street as the apartment, and Alcazar literally out our bedroom windows, the Cathedral de Seville around the block, and we were within walking distance of Old Town Seville, and the Plaza de Espana. The apartment layout is very nice, however, we experienced a number of issues:

We needed to request additional bath soap and toilet tissue to be brought to the apartment, as only 1 roll of tissue was provided in 2 of the 4 bathrooms.

A very pugnant odor filled the foyer and kitchen ... we needed to keep the kitchen doors closed to contain the odor. The odor was not bad food .. more like a dead animal.

The bathrooms were not clean, and there were a lot of dead mosquitos throughout the apartment, along with live mosquitos! Possibly due to a bathroom window that would not close. After a 3 night stay, all five of us ended up with many many mosquito bites .... quite annoying, and unexpected for our stay in Seville.

The kitchen was not equipped with the convection pots and pans for cooking on the convection stovetop. A Nespresso maker was provided, but only one sleeve of coffee pods ... not quite enough for 5 people for 3 days. There were no items stocked in the kitchen such as hand towels or liquid detergent. There were two refrigerators in the kitchen: one worked, the other was broken, as was the espresso/ cappuccino maker ... and the fan/hood on the stove top was broken. Maybe we’re not supposed to use the kitchen on vacation!

In all bathrooms, the shower water pressure was very, very poor .... a lot of fluctuation in water pressure AND water temperature, from hot to COLD. Not very comfortable ... and very disappointing. Very few bath towels were provided. 1 bathtowel & 1 handtowel per person ... no washcloths or extra towels were provided. No hairdryers were provided.

For the price that we paid for this apartment, we were happy with the location, BUT we are extremely disappointed with the cleanliness, amenities (soap & towels), and that appliances were broken. Not worth the price due to the inconveniences.

The 2 Star review is for location, which is great. And, with some attention and repairs by the owners, this COULD be a very nice place to stay.

This is a beautiful apartment in a great location. It is very handy for all the major attractions and is presented very nicely. It had everything we required and I'd recommend it to anyone.

This enchanting property is uniquely located in the elegant street of San Fernando and borders the perimeter walls of Seville’s beautiful 14th century Moorish-style palace, the Real Alcázar. Given that there are very few residential homes in the street, you can enjoy almost exclusive views of this magnificent palace. The property is part of a beautifully restored 18th century building which was originally built as living quarters for high-ranking staff of the Royal Tobacco Factory, a magnificent industrial building which looks over the street and today houses the administrative offices of Seville University.

A short stroll away is the entrance to the Maria Luisa Park and the Plaza de España, one of the most iconic works of renowned architect Anibal González, built for the Universal Exhibition of 1929. San Fernando also leads easily to the Murillo Gardens and the picturesque Barrio de Santa Cruz.

In the opposite direction is the Avenida de la Constitución, the Cathedral of Santa María de los Reyes, and the Giralda, and, of course, the gardens of the Real Alcázar, a stunning complex which must not be missed. Not only is San Fernando one of the most dynamic streets in the city, it is also superbly communicated, with good transport links by tram, on the underground system serving the whole of the metropolitan area of Seville, or from the nearby Prado de San Sebastián bus station.
