Large apartment with 2 bedrooms, one double and one twin, double sofa bed in the living room and 2 full bathroom, the flat has a family kitchen and dining table for 10 persons, the living area is spacious and newly furnished like the whole house. Private little chapel and view on the countryside makes this apartment unique in the whole town and county. Immerse in the Treviso county, Asolo is an historic location that has its roots in the Roman Empire (http://www.asolo.it/la-citta-un-mondo-di-arte-e-storia/). Robert Browning, Freya Stark and many other artists and characters of the European History of the last 600 years have visited, inhabited and wrote about this beautiful city on the low hills of Treviso.
This is a gorgeous apartment, with an awesome view of the cathedral belltower and the countryside beyond. It's in a perfect location only steps from the main square with it's lion-tipped fountain and the Cafe Centrale, where all of Asolo has breakfast, lunch and drinks way into the evening. The bedrooms are comfortable, bathrooms elegantly equipped, kitchen has everything you would ever want, and the antique furniture and historic prints on the walls make it a special place to return to from trips around the countryside. The landlord has spent a great deal of time and money to furnish this in elegant fashion, and you even have your own chapel by the front door. He and his wife are most accommodating. We lost our keys one day, and the landlord met us at the door at 11 p.m. with a new set. What more could you want?
A few negatives...but I think only because this is a new rental. I'm sure the landlord will have things fixed soon. The wi-fi has yet to work properly, so you must go down the Via Bembo to the Cafe Centrale, where there is a great connection. Television has only Italian tv stations, with a few movies that can be translated into English. Don't expect BBC or CNN here.
But that just gets you out to enjoy Asolo and nearby towns. Trips to the Dolomites, Soave, Verona, Vincenza and Padua are all within a day's drive. Give yourself time to climb the hill to the Rocca for fabulous views, dine on the terrace at Due Mori, have a drink at the Villa Cipriani, eat fish on the rooftop of Bistrot (right across the street from the apartment), and shopping in local boutiques. Nothing is better than sitting at the Centrale with an espresso just watching the world of Asolo go by.
All compliments to the owners who have created a lovely, comfortable and elegant home away from home.
