You can do so many things from our door, without getting into your car! Bowness with its shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as cinema and theatre. All the attractions of Lake Windermere including the Ferry that can transport you to the western shores for exploration to Hawkshead and beyond Touring buses go around the lakes leaving from Bowness too! A whole range of country walks offer themselves from our as well as Biskey Howe view point, a must to visit, to whet your appetite for further adventure!

Well situated in Bowness
Good accommodation and very short walk into Bowness.
While the access to the retreat is a fair climb, it is well worth it. The rooms are quaint and full of charm. Directions given by the owner were well stated. The views from each of the bow windows were exceptional. Ellie’s View is close to bus routes and delightful tea and breakfast spots. The town is full of lovely dogs of all makes and sizes.

Great location, easy walking distance of Bowness centre. Property was cleaned nicely and very welcoming upon our arrival. Great instructions and directions for finding and entering the house too.

First visit to the area. Ellie’s View is perfectly located, well equipped, spacious and comfortable. Would certainly recommend.
Great location and a massive well equipped apartment for a holiday let.
Let’s get the fact the decor is a bit out of date out of the way. It looks like it does on the pics and is clean, we had no qualms. Also that will be a reason the price is so reasonable. The apartment is located 5 min walk to Bowness itself. It’s in a quiet part a couple hundred yards off the main road. Have a cup of tea in the Bay window. Lovely view. It has everything you’ll need for a great holiday. There are stairs and Bowness is built on a steep hill. So think about that if your walking isn’t what it used to be.
We’ve stayed in a few apartments over the years through homeway formerly owners direct and Airbnb. Pound for pound this was amazing value for money. We will be back. Happy holidays.
We were extremely disappointed with the state of cleanliness of the property. We had our 3 months old with us. It felt so unhygienic when we saw the beds, toilets and kitchen. Toilet had dirty marks.
Family bathroom wasn't draining water from bathtub.
Beds were not comfy at all. Towels were filthy. Found hair in between duvet and bedsheets.
Regret highly for booking this place...

HI , I can only apologise for the lack of cleanliness, as usually we receive very good reviews for this,
I will have a meeting with the cleaner to find out what went wrong and ensure that this does not happen again, although this won't help you but will other guests.
Until I see the cleaner, I cannnot say more but ask you to accept my apologies on this occasion
Of course, if you had called me I could have the cleaner return on the day you arrived and have her re do it. This would hopefully have resolved any issues that you found
In a quiet area yet close to shops, pubs and restaurants. 10 minute walk to the lake and its attractions. Cinema, theatre and Beatrix Potter museum 5 mins walk. Country walks from our door.
