Maurizio’s Casa Libra was wonderful, a very thoughtful mix of vintage and new elements.
The Casa Libera apartment resonated with us as architects who have studied historic and modern Italian architecture and who love the 1920’s and 1930’s architecture that this building represents. Beautiful and functional too, with carefully chosen objects. The plan is great, the details are evocative of that period in design, with a new twist. We loved being on the quiet side of Trastevere, and the beautiful garden courts with the outdoor terrace and lovely buildings, Roman pines in the distance, and birds singing in the morning were magical. Fantastic location, very wonderful building by famous italian architects, and a gracious host in Maurizio all added up to a very memorable stay in Rome. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you Maurizio!
Elegant and Well-Appointed
I have rented many apartments while traveling and can say that Maurizio's is one of my favorites. The location in Trastevere is convenient for walking to shops and restaurants, but also on a beautiful, quiet street. It's possible to walk to Piazza Navona in just a half hour.
It's in a leafy, pretty part of Rome just beneath Janiculum Hill and close to the tram. it felt like a haven at the end of the day after a lot of sightseeing and crowds in Old Rome. What I like best were the huge French doors off both the living room and bedroom that open to a balcony which stretches the whole length of the apartment. There are two sitting areas on the balcony where I spent a lot of time looking on to the view of gorgeous gardens below and interesting buildings.
The apartment is elegantly furnished with no distracting owner bric a brac lying around. Mauricio likes furniture from the 50s and each piece was obviously chosen with care rather than at rummage sales. The linens are of excellent quality and the apartment was spotless.
Small things such as convenient outlets, hair dryer, extra wool blankets for cool evenings, cleaning supplies, and a washer make a longer stay quite comfortable. No need to bring any guidebooks about the area--there's a large library of books.
I made espresso every morning on the induction stove and sat on the balcony until I felt compelled to sightsee. Fortunately, I had covered the major sites in Rome on previous trips and could relax and enjoy the apartment and neighborhood. Maurizio will help you with reservations and taxis, etc.
It was an idyllic place to stay.
Dear Lori, thanks for your comment. It was a pleasure to host you and we will happy to see you again in the future.
Lovely apartment in beautiful Trastevere
We absolutely loved staying at Casaliberia in beautiful Trastevere.
The apartment is spacious, and very clean, nicely decorated and overall very comfortable, we particularly loved the long balcony, overlooking the garden as it was extremely peaceful and was a great refuge. The location is great and only a short stroll to multiple restaurants, wine bars, cafes, shops and transport.
I will point out that the shower is very small, whilst that was not a problem for us, I doubt it would be comfortable for a large person, so something to be considered. In saying that it was a great shower.
Roberto was a great host and provided terrific communication.
I definitely recommend this apartment for anyone who wants to stay in Rome with the locals
My husband and I stayed here for our 30th anniversary and had a wonderful time.
The apartment was spacious and well equipped, with the kitchen and bathroom being very clean. The AC worked well even though the weather was very hot. The bed was comfortable and bedroom quiet at night. We especially appreciated the shutter which darkened the room. The back yard view was lovely, with its romantic gardens and buildings. There is an exceptional gourmet restaurant "Antico Arco" located within a 15 min walk from the apartment. Our host Maurizio was very friendly and quickly responded to our inquiries. We would recommend this apartment.
Thank you very much! We hope to see you again in Rome. Best.
Perfect place, great location!
Loved this building--sophisticated, cool and just far enough away from business and crowds. Apt was immaculate with elegant furnishings; everything comfortable and easy to use. Lovely back patio with view of greenery and visiting green parrots.
Small for three, but a perfect location.
I wouldn't call it luxury, but it was a charming vintage apartment. Really too small for three, it would have been perfect for two. Can't beat the location. Great area for walking, lots of up and downs, but Rome is the city of 7 hills. Great night life, restaurants, bakeries, gelato, all within easy walking.
Thanks for your comment. We agree with you and we took out from the ad the word "luxury".
Our offer is more related with culture. We want to offer to our guests an environment to experience Italian culture at its best: authentic pieces of forniture of 40's and 50's of great designers (Ponti, Borsani and Ulrich) in a 30's avant-garde modernist location and original works of contemporary artists.
The size of the flat is carefully described in the ad and, as you may realize, our prices are stated according to that and far away lower than a "luxury" options.
All the best, Maurizio
The building is on a high-end quiet residential street, just a short walk away from Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere, the very heart of the ancient and fascinating Trastevere, where you can visit the oldest church in Rome. Public transportation is very convenient and would get you quickly and easily to all the sights, Which are in fact all walkable, to the station and to Fiumicino Airport. Tram. 8 takes you in 5 minutes to Trastevere station, where you can get a train to the main airport every half hour. Bus no. 75 goes directly to Termini station. Bus no. 115 gets you in ten minutes very close to St. Peter's square. Tram. 8 anche take you in 5 minutes very close to all the sights.
