About the property

Relaxing holiday retreat for four - ideal for fishing, wildlife or boating fans.

Sandringham Cottage is set in a near perfect position on the banks of the River Bure within clear view of the infamous Wroxham Bridge - ideal for a tranquil and relaxing break. Double French doors open onto your own South East facing patio with fine river views - an ideal place to while away the mornings.

The cottage is in a prime position on the Peninsula private marina site that offers shared gardens, a private mooring immediately outside the cottage if required and fishing from outside the patio doors in season. Pike, bream and perch are regularly landed within 10 feet of the cottage door and wild swans are often on the river nearby. Wroxham, Capital of the Broads, is a pleasant five minute walk away with a wide range of shops, cafes bars and restaurants.

Favourite eateries nearby for guests include the Yim Siam Thai, Wherryman's, The River Kitchen and King's Head Carvery. Takeaways include Thai, Chinese, Indian and a choice of fish and chips such as Ken's. There is always McD's in Roy's for the kids.

The Shed bar is adjacent to the Peninsula site and has a wide variety of beers and cider, a pool table and is less than 2 minutes from the cottage on foot.

Tour boats, self drive dayboat and canoe hire is available less than five minutes walk from your door to explore the magic of the Norfolk Broads by river. With our private mooring just outside the cottage you can moor o load your dayboat just yards from the property to maximise convenience.

The fine city of Norwich is about 8 miles away for shopping and theatre trips - travel by train, car, nearby park and ride or bus - while the sandy beaches of the Norfolk coast are about 14 miles away.

On return from a busy day you can relax in your beautiful holiday home that has a fully fitted kitchen with integrated dishwasher, hob, microwave, oven and fridge freezer. The living room has two double sofas, TV, DVD and Wi Fi.

Upstairs is a stunning main bedroom with double bed, bed side tables, chest of drawers and large wardrobe. There is a second bedroom with twin beds, chest of drawers and large wardrobe.

All bedrooms have fine dual aspect river views, beds are made up with lovely pillows and duvets ready for your arrival and unlike some other cottages full ceiling height throughout. There is a beautiful new bathroom with bath, with shower above, basin with storage below, blower heater, heated towel rail and toilet. Towels are provided for all your guests to use during your holiday.

The cottage is fully insulated, is double glazed and has electric heating through out for cosy nights in.

Off road parking for one vehicle is provided. From 1 January 2017 the electricity costs have been included in the prices in line with customer feedback.

Having had other riverside property in Wroxham we felt that this cottage was, to use the estate agent speak, in arguably the best location on the Peninsula site.

What makes this cottage unique

The cottage is one of only a few two bedroom cottages on site with full ceiling height throughout internally, a covered south east facing balcony with river views and dual aspect river views from each bedroom.

It is also one of only a handful of two bedroom cottages on site that can offer two car parking spaces and a large private mooring immediately adjacent to the property if required.

  • A luxurious new bathroom has been fitted for the new season, 2016. Unlike many other cottages there is full ceiling height throughout and modern wall and floor coverings that are aesthetically pleasing and practical. There is an electric shower above the new bath, basin with storage below and mirror with electric shaver point. Heating is provided by an electric blower unit and there is a heated towel rail to air towels all year round.

  • The main bedroom is dual aspect with beautiful views down stream. The comfortable double bed is made up for your arrival with a choice of duvet weights depending on season. There are two stylish bedside lamps on the oak bedside tables that match a large matching oak chest of drawers with large mirror above. To store clothes there is also a large full height wardrobe. Heating is provided by a wall mounted thermostatically controlled electric heater. The second bedroom is again dual aspect with views over Wroxham Bridge. There are two single beds made up for your arrival. The port hole theme of the lounge is repeated with the delightful port hole mirror. A bedside table matches a walnut chest of drawers giving the room a unique feel. Heating is provided for the winter by a brand new thermostatically controlled wall heater. Again there is a full height wardrobe for storage and drawers in the base units of both beds.

A great base for exploring Norfolk. The beaches and coastal towns are in easy driving distance - try Great Yarmouth for a traditional seaside town or Sea Palling for extensive beaches. The fine city of Norwich is eight miles away with its markets, wide range of shops, restaurants, museums, castle and of course cathedral. There are Amy fine stately homes to visit too such as Blickling Hall and of course Sandringham House. Closer to the cottage are Wroxham Barns, Bewilderwood, the Bure Valley Railway and the model village. There are a number of zoos too including Banham Zoo, Africa Alive and Amazona Zoo. In Wroxham there are many restaurants if you wish to eat out. Our favourites are the Wherryman's, Kings Head Carvery, Yim Siam Thai and The River Kitchen all within easy walking distance. Takeaways abound too - Chinese, fish and chips, Thai, pizza, chicken and so on plus a McDonalds in the Roys' food hall! Boat tours are available - bith skippered and self drive launches.

Delightful

Clean, well equipped, plenty of storage, water views from every window. Ideally located for just sitting on the terrace people/boat/bird watching. Shops/pub/restaurant 5 minutes walk away. Personal, secure parking space. Comfortable beds. What more could you want?

Had a meal at the Hotel Wroxham - not great. But, having said that ,to sit on their terrace overlooking the water sipping a cool drink was very pleasant.

We visited the city of Norwich - well worth it - the Cathedral is something to behold - had a meal at Bella Italia - couldn't fault it.

Great customer service from the owner. Reception on site was helpful, especially when my wife broke a tooth and we had to find a dentist(the dentist listed in the information book is 'private practice' and this should be stated as not everyone can afford the fees. Maybe list a NHS dentist as an alternative.
