Typical Ludlow house, situated within old town walls and close to all amenities. Sleeps 6+ - 2 kingsize doubles, 1 twin. We also have 2 'put-you-up' beds, a travel cot and French cabin bed, for extras/children. There is a family bathroom on the first floor, together with one double bedroom and large sitting room, the other two bedrooms are on the second floor with a shower room and cloakroom. On the ground floor there is a large dining/living room and small kitchen. The laundry room is in an adjacent building and the garden is separate, across an adjoining courtyard. The house is old and furnished with antiques. Everything Ludlow has to offer is close by. The station is about 10 minutes walk. We include one residents parking ticket in the rent otherwise there are plenty of public car parks within easy walking distance.

Perfect House in Brilliant Location!
We had a wonderful time here for a long weekend. The house was very centrally located, and very clean. We were a family of two adults, six children and two dogs and the house accommodated us perfectly. The two living areas were great, the upstairs living room lovely and warm and cosy for the family. Thank you so much for having us.
Perfect accommodation for a group short break
This was ideal for a group who met up from different areas of the country for a birthday reunion. The house is centrally located within easy walking distance of the station, shops, castle and restaurants. It is very old with interesting features but comfortable and well-equipped. The bedrooms were perfectly adequate for a group of 5, and the lounges were cosy and welcoming. We all agreed we would be very happy to return here for a future occasion.
Very nice place
This house is full of character and big enough for 6 people. We are a family of 5 and on several evenings we had two friends for dinner, no problem. Kitchen is tiny, but very well equipped, better then some much bigger ones we have seen. Dishwasher helped a lot, as well as extra storage where washing machine, extra fridge and freezer are. Dining - sitting area downstairs is nice and big enough. Wood burning stove is very nice (guests need to buy wood). Upstairs sitting room is great. Bedrooms are big enough, beds are comfortable. Central heating works very well. Two bathrooms and extra toilet are great for 3 bedrooms. No need to take books with you - there are interesting books in every room. House was nicely decorated for Christmas.
Top floor bathroom would be even better with a mirror and a shelf above the basin. Tall people need to be careful when going into kitchen - very low doorframe. Twin bedroom doesn't have cupboard or drawers. Most cupboards and drawers in bedrooms are full of extra blankets, bedlinen, fold-up beds, high chairs,... but not enough space for visitors clothes. It's great to have all those extra items, for all possible occasions, but visitors should have enough free space. All this is very easy to fix.
Position of the house is on the main road and looking into another very busy small road, but it doesn't matter at all - double glazing downstairs blocks all that noise and we didn't have any problems during the nights. That position means that town centre is 5 minutes walk. Restaurants, shops, castle, cathedral, everything is there, so car is needed only for going out of the town. And there are very nice places to go to.
Definitely recommending this cottage for holiday.
lovely spacious period house
This old house is full of lovely, quirky features but the rooms are a good size and the new heating system keeps it warm. There are plenty of reception rooms and bathrooms.
It is ideally placed to explore Ludlow and its shops (close enough to return to drop off those purchases and start again). Should the weather be bad there are plenty of books and games to keep you entertained.
It is on a main thoroughfare through the town but we did not find noise a problem (we stayed over a festival weekend and also experienced the weekend rush hour). The kitchen is a little snug but is well equiped and more than adequate for making breakfast and snacks.
Thank you Ruth - glad you enjoyed your stay. We are always looking to improve things. We’re stuck with bathrooms and kitchen but may upgrade beds a bit this winter.
Beautiful place to stay
Just got back from a fabulous weekend and would highly recommend this lovely house to anyone planning a visit to Ludlow. Quirky and cosey, would love to spend more time there and read some of the many wonderful books on offer. Many thanks to Judy the owner and Lynne for organising the visit.
Worked well for our family of 7
Lots of space with separate living area for kids to watch TV. Loads of history in this old house. Kitchen very small, one cook at a time!
Dogs are welcome at a small extra cost.
