A very spacious and well appointed house. Nice garden(s) and perfect location. We had two families in our party, a total of 4 adults and three children, and the property was pretty much ideal. It was roomy, the beds were very comfy, accommodation flexible and the the amenities (including washing machine, tumble drier and dish washer) were excellent. The pictures on the website didn't do it justice! Highly recommended and would happily stay there again.
Enjoyed our third stay in this property. The house is comfortable, well equipped and cosy. The location is just right between beach and shops. New Windows have been installed since last year . Hope to book again for next year.
this was our second stay at The Glen in Dornoch and we choose here again because of the excellent location.
The stay however was not as comfortable as our first experience for 3 main reasons;
The double bed needs replacing. It's raised in the centre and falls to sides making it very uncomfortable to get a decent night sleep. It was so bad we needed to bring a single bed mattress from downstairs to the upstairs room.
The drains in the downstairs shower / loo had a horrendous odour for the whole week. We needed to purchase two bottles of bleach just to try and reduce the odour which I began to believe were possibly sewer fumes.
The velux in the 2nd upstairs bedroom would not close. Given the close proximity to the coast and the weather was not the best this resulted in a cold and loud draught.
Not taking the above issues into consideration the property is ideal for those looking for a family, golfing or fishing holiday.
We will definitely return to Dornoch as we have relations nearby however will likely seek alternative accommodation due to the above issues.
Spacious, and well equipped property,good central location-quiet and big garden space.
Good selection of DVDs and books plus local attractions.
No hesitation in recommending this property, would happily stay again.
From the A9 take the A949 to Dornoch. Drive into the town centre, passing the cathedral on the left. Go past the Dornoch Castle Hotel on the right and turn right into Shore Road (signposted Historylinks Museum). Look on the left for the third bridge over the burn, with green railings. This leads to the drive in front of a green garage door.
