Gorgeous second floor flat in traditional sandstone building. The flat is fully stocked and equipped. Inclusive of utilities, Sky, tax, phone. It is situated beside Crosshill Station from where trains to the city centre take just 7 minutes.

Stylish traditional flat in a unique Crosshill tenement.

Occupying the 2nd floor of the only tenement in Glasgow built by the Dixon family (of Dixon's "Blazes" Ironworks) this lovely flat features all mod cons and more.

Kitchen features solid oak worktop, variable brightness under-lighting and ceiling lighting, large American style fridge freezer, wine rack, dishwasher, washing machine, food processor, microwave, solid oak adjustable dining table and chairs and comes wired with audio cables that are fed into and from each room of the house including the bathroom.

Bathroom features oak units, stained glass window, powerful mains supply shower and ceiling loudspeaker for optional audio feed.

Living room is complete with matching solid oak furniture, large gilded mirror and matching settees. Features LCD flatscreen TV, Sky box and DVD/Blu-Ray player, the living room also has a large collection of DVDs, books and board games. The view from the front bay window is unimpeded with no adjacent buildings and clear visibility as far as Rutherglen.

Master bedroom features a cherry wood chest of drawers, oak bed frame and matching side tables, slickly designed fitted wardrobe with shelving for shoes at the side.

Bedroom 2 features a 3-drawer day-bed/chaise which converts into a slatted double-bed, bedside table and chest of drawers

The long reception hall features antique telephone table and leather armchair.

There is double-glazing throughout and no trouble with noise pollution at all.

The flat is provided with Sky television/Sky box as well as wireless broadband wi-fi for which a password will be provided.

There are a wide selection of books, DVDs and board games available for you to make use of.

A child's cot and high chair are available on request. Please supply your own bedding for the cot.

We include Egyptian cotton towels and bed linens for our guests.

The flat is in a quiet residential area. Short walk from bars and restaurants on Victoria Road and Pollockshaws Road. Just 5 to 10 minutes from one of Glasgow's nicest and well-kept parks - Queens Park. Just 7 minutes by train into Glasgow City Centre. Crosshill Station is directly outside the flat. Major bus route also a few minutes walk away. We have been doing rentals and holiday lets to a high standard for over two years now. Renting the flat out as a holiday let is new (previously we let it out long term via other advertising routes/agencies). However, feedback regarding the standards we maintain can be seen on our lodge's trip advisor page which has consistently positive feedback, as does our guest book.

Gorgeous, well-equipped flat

What you see is what you get. My husband and I stayed here for a month and can highly recommend this flat.

Great location with both train and bus stops minutes from the door. Buy a weekly pass with First Bus for £16 or a monthly for only £48. You can get these at the "Day to Day" shop on Cathcart Road, across from the bus stop - #31. You can also get the #7 on Allison St.

Visit the local pub, the Penny Farthing, if you feel like a pint of Glasgow's own Tennent's lager. It's also located on Cathcart Rd., just a five minute walk from the flat.

As a light sleeper, I was disturbed by the noise from the trains, but jut slept in the back bedroom instead

Gordon is a fantastic host who met us on arrival and carried most of our luggage upstairs for us. He keeps the best-stocked rental and even asked us to let him know if we were running out of cleaning supplies.

Beautiful flat with good transport links

This is a beautiful, traditional flat with plenty of natural light. It is almost on top of Crosshill train station, which provides excellent links to Glasgow Central. Train noise can be a bit disturbing early in the morning if you have the windows open. This part of Glasgow isn't the most salubrious, but for us, the proximity to the train station and the motorway network made it excellent value. The second bedroom is really a single, but we didn't use it. My only recommendation is for large cushions for the living room sofa. Otherwise, we hope to return.

In a very good situation by Crosshill train station. Clean, well decorated and a very well equipped

I would like a better mattress on bed in second bedroom. Brighter lights in the dining area.

Bigger bath towels.

But we loved the spaciousness and the flat had everything we needed.

Owner's Response: Hi Virginia, thanks for your feedback. I'd like to respond to all three points. There are two mattresses on the daybed, one stored on top of the other, because the daybed converts into a double bed with the mattresses side by side. I think when the mattresses are on top of one another they are probably too soft. It's possible of course to remove one. Also, they need to be turned every so often and swapped around. In any case, I was not expecting this room to be used so was caught a little off guard. Normally I notice when doing changeover whether the mattresses could do with turning over. As for brighter lighting in the dining area, perhaps I forgot to point out the three spotlights at the far end of the dining alcove that have their own switch circuit separate from the main kitchen lighting circuit and the underlighting circuit? Apologies if not, but when switched on they make the dining area fairly bright. Lastly, bath towels. You will find these all of a similar size. They will range from about 27" x 52" up to 30" by 58" for the largest towel. If you want bigger towels then you're looking at beach towels. There are two beach towels in the sideboard in the living room, as well as some spare towels in a different colour range from the main matching sets we use. The towels themselves, hand towels, bath towels and the two beach towels are high quality Egyptian cotton, just like the bed linen. I will note your complaint nevertheless. Thank you for leaving the place in a very tidy and clean condition on departure. Best wishes, Gordon
