Gordon Mackinnon purchased this apartment in 2013
It's a unique building. The only tenement in Glasgow built by the renowned Dixon family whose iron works was nearby and who specialised more in church and town hall architecture. The view out the front is not impeded by any other buildings and one can see for a good few miles.
Beautiful well maintained character apartment with a well stocked kitchen for anything one might need and the big bonus of having a washing machine. A great location with the train station literally across the street, a 10 minute ride got us into Central Station and most everything was a walk from there. Gordon was a good host with lots of info on the neighbourhood and suggestions on museums, galleries and restaurants. We would stay again if we returned to the wonderful city of Glasgow.
This flat suited ours needs wonderfully! It was exactly as advertised and extremely comfortable. The owner was a delight to deal with and went out of his way to make sure we had all the information we needed. He had flowers, cookies and chocolate on the pillow of our little traveler. He had even put up a Christmas tree for us. The little five year old traveler in our group appreciated it greatly and it made a nice backdrop for our family picture. We were in Glasgow to visit our daughter who lived very close to the flat. The proximity to the train station made it very easy to get around. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Hope to stay here again.
We spent 6 days in Glasgow at this beautiful well equipped apartment. It was very clean and was well supplied with things like sugar, salt, pepper, oil, spices and tea......all the basics. Gordon was in contact with us to make sure things were going well as he was out of town, but had someone available if we had a problem. The flat is only 8 min out of Glasgow and there is frequent service. We stopped a few times at the little shop across the street for newspapers etc. It is run by a very nice man. We like to sleep with a window open but found it was a bit noisy from the trains but we just kept the window closed. Everything else made up for the train noise. We would recommend this apartment and would stay there again. Thanks Gordon

This apartment is very spacious, well stocked and well appointed. Its proximity to a train station makes it a perfect location for sightseeing in Glasgow. The apartment was comfortable and very quiet even though the street and train station are nearby. It has a huge kitchen with modern appliances, gas stove, dishwasher, washing machine and huge refrigerator/freezer. Although there were only two us, it could easily accommodate a large family. Were we to return to Glasgow, we would definitely want to stay here again and highly recommend it. Gordon, the owner, was very helpful upon our arrival and provided us with detailed information about the apartment. Don't miss out on this wonderful apartment if you are coming to Glasgow!
Lovely flat - lots of space and very attractively furnished. Comfy beds, slept well. Very convenient for trains and buses, good parking too. Very helpful, friendly owner. We really enjoyed our stay.
This apartment is a knock-out. It's completely refurbished, keeping the feel of the old—maybe 15-foot ceilings--but everything is new and clean. We found it exceptionally well-appointed with nice kitchenware, appliances and conveniences. It's so nice to have a full shower with plenty of hot water and functioning drains. (If you travel a lot, you know what we mean!) The internet was excellent. Our landlord was just as attentive as he needed to be which was a real plus: conscientious but not overwhelming. We found the central location perfect for access to almost anywhere we wanted to go: a quick drive to the main highway exchanges, but best of all, right upstairs from the train station that offered a 10 minute ride to central Glasgow (for 90 cents for heaven's sake) and from there we could get to almost anywhere by bus, underground, or train. What a plus. Glasgow had so much to see and places to eat, we never scratched the surface in our month stay. We found the Scots we encountered to be the funniest, most open people we've ever met, the best story tellers and with the burr the most delightful to listen to, definitely putting the lie to the dour Scotsman myth. It was a good stay.
