Lovely, modern property

We were so pleased with The flat. It is modern and bright with all the things we needed. It looks just like the pictures and everything is as promised. The location is convenient. There is a major bus stop right at the end of the street and we found 3 grocers and numerous restaurants nearby. It is an easy bus ride to Princes Street or the waterfront at Leith. We felt so fortunate to secure such nice accommodations at a reasonable price during the Fringe festival. Gordon is not on site, but he checked in with us by phone several times to see if we needed anything. I would highly recommend this flat.

Great location, "B" accommodation

This property is large and ideally located for most purposes. It is within walking distance to everything, and is surrounded by good eateries and has excellent transit access. The premises, however, are a little bit "tired" and could use a good cleaning.......Also, one night, we encountered a brawl (in process) on the way home, so I suspect that the area is a little more "colorful" than some might want. That's not the owner's fault, of course, but elderly clients might want to keep that in mind. Overall, however, this is a good value option in a great area.

Owner's Response: Confusing and Contradictory. I am very surprised with this review as I had communication with these guests during their stay by telephone by text and by email, on no occasion did they say that there were things they were not happy about, frankly I do not believe that this professional couple would spend a week in a property that they now say in a review 'Could use a good cleaning..........'. But say nothing during their stay, once I had received the review I emailed them to ask specifically what they were unhappy about and they took the time to email me back to say they did not have the time to tell me what they were unhappy about. Apart from that the review is confusing and contradictory and would ask potential guest to use common sense when reading this.

Great Apartment conveniently located

The flat was very comfortable and it's very convenient, Sainsbury's just a minutes walk away and the flat is close to most of the attractions. The host was very friendly and checked with me if everything was okay during my stay . I had a good time in Edinburgh and at The flat. I recommend the flat if anyone is coming to travel to Edinburgh!

Great location, livable, but could use some TLC.

This apartment has a great location within easy walking distance to bars, eateries and grocery shopping. It is about a 10-15 minute walk to the Royal Mile and about 20 minutes to Edinburgh Castle...so location is great. If you have a car parking is free on the side street..but it can be difficult to find a close spot nearby. I had to park about a block away...but again it was free! The apartment itself is fairly well equipped and maintained. We did notice it was a bit dusty and the kitchen needs a good cleaning. Also, we did not have a clean dish towel..the owner could leave an extra couple of clean ones in a drawer. Only two towels were supplied..again a few more towels would be a nice touch. The bedding was clean and the beds were comfortable. For the most part the area is quiet and safe at night. We did have some noise on a Friday night..but it was probably a one off. I would not hesite to stay here again...but I would contact the owner and ask that extra towels and clean dish towel be supplied.

Owner's Response: I am very pleased the guests enjoyed their trip and that they would not hesitate to book the apartment again, the parking is busy as this is the first street that is free to park outside the controlled zone where you have to pay to park. Regards anything not being as it should be with the apartment, I had no communication from the guests in the 3 days they were in the apartment, I just wish the guests had let me know and I would have droped off dish towels etc, as there is not much I can do once the guests have checked out and I only find out by getting this review, I would ask any future guest to call or email and they would get an instant response. and a swift resolution to any issue.

Brilliant apartment

We stayed at Main Door Apartment for a week, it's a brilliant place to stay, everything that we needed was there. Lovely decorated & furnished & very clean. It's close to Edinburgh, just down the street to the bus stop into the town & there's several bus routes too choose from & there's a supermarket just round the corner which was very convenient . Our Daughter slept on the bed settee & she said it was very comfortable & it was easy to change it from settee to bed. I would definitely recommend this apartment & if we go down too Edinburgh again it would be our first choice to rent.

Très bon choix

L'appartement est dans une rue calme. Il est confortable, bien équipé, il ne manque rien.

Le quartier est agréable, bien pourvu en restaurants, bars, supermarchés. Le centre d'Edimbourg est facilement accessible à pied. Gordon est prévenant et arrangeant (il s'adapte aux horaires d'arrivée pour la récupération des clés).

Nous avons passé une excellente semaine.
