Overview

About the property

Quite flat in best location with 2 separate bedrooms, 2 baths, Air/C, fast wifi

Quite and soundproof flat with fast wifi connection, at the 5th and last floor with elevator, air conditioning in each room and central heating. It can host 4 people in 2 separate rooms with comfortable beds, and 2 baths. STRATEGIC LOCATION; the best solution for daily trips: Centrale Railway Station and Fashion District are in 5 min. by public transport or 10 min. walking. It is at the beginning of Corso Buenos Aires, a neighbourhood full of shops and restaurants within walking distance. The underground station Porta Venezia is out of the building; it takes to Duomo, Castle, Stadium and Airport trains. Rho Fiera Milano in 19 min. Como lake in 1 hour.

The Space

"Milano Porta Venezia" (MPV ) is a 55 square meters completely renovated apartment: modern amenities with vintage charme! It consists of a living-room with balcony ( very useful for smokers) and a corridor that takes to the independent night area. The corridor leads to 2 separate bed-rooms and to the bathrooms. It is soundproof, so you will not hear any noise and sounds and you will not be waked by morning sun light because metal shutters block it out. "Milano Porta Venezia” ( MPV) is your ideal starting point for any urban and suburban itineraries; it is a fantastic location: nestled perfectly between the cathedral/Duomo (4 min.) and Centrale railway Station (5 minutes) where there are shuttle buses connecting directly to Malpensa and Orio al Serio airports. A 10 minutes walk, or with the nearby bike-sharing, you can get to the famous “Quadrilatero della Moda” (Fashion District) in the heart of the city, maybe with a stop by the historical Porta Venezia gardens. These can be used for outdoor physical activities and to make children play. The fastest way (19 minutes) to visit Rho Fiera is the “Passante Ferroviario” (Railway Bypass): its station is right in front of “your” apartment, and it is called, needless to say, Milano Porta Venezia. Como lakes can be reached in less than one hour.

Outlet Serravalle Scrivia is connected by a shuttle that stops out of the building.

MPV is the perfect apartment for holidays, business trips, shopping week-ends, Fashion and Design week, furniture exibition week, even for families with children.

Guest Access

Guests will be welcomed by the owner at the main entrance of the building in the street. They can make use of the entire apartment and can enjoy all its comforts. Fresh and quality ingredients are available for immediate needs. In case of vegetarian diet or gluten, lactose, egg intolerance, specific food will be provided, upon notification when booking.

Interaction with Guests

The owner is present at check in and check out.

Check in and check out time can be flexible if there isn't a departure or an arrival in the same day (the apartment needs time to be cleaned!). In any case luggage can be dropped off. The owner will be available during all your staying for suggestions and advices; she enjoys meeting all her guests, but she respects their privacy and space as well. Please, feel free to interact with her as much or as little as you would like to.

The Neighbourhood

From "Milano Porta Venezia" you can explore and experience Milan comfortably and in style! The "shopping street" district has a colorful and diverse nature. To be a central district, it has indeed its own strong identity: just take a look at Via Panfilo Castaldi, and you will see a glorious road that opens like a theater scene with the nineteenth-century banner of the historical hat shop, or try also to go to the Popolare bookshop in Tadino street. As the writer Giorgio Fontana says: "Porta Venezia is “a little happy island in many large streets ". Now the district is evolving in an interesting way: hipster locations appear more and more. It is a neighborhood that has a heart; a heart that beats many different rhythms. It has fantastic craft shops, cafes and restaurants with great chefs for all tastes and budgets. Here you can eat both cooked and raw food, vegetarian and organic menus and, of course, delicious courses of the Italian and Milanese tradition!

About Maria Teresa

My passions are travel, history, art and literature. When I travel I love to compare my culture with that one of the country where I go; I try to identify myself as much as possible with local people. I explore more and more, walking, talking, eating, and attending also hidden locations and attractions, not necessarily described in the tourist guides. I like the idea of staying in a comfortable, clean, well equipped flat, that makes me relax after a busy day and that gets me move easily at night if I want to go out. My flat allows all this in Milan; that’s the reason why I decided to rent it and to make myself available to my guests. I love cooking and trying new dishes to share with friends.

What makes this apartment unique

This first war world house with all modern upgrades is situated perfectly between the historical area and the shopping district. From Milano Porta Venezia you can explore and experience Milan comfortably and in style! Just walk outside of the main entrance and enter the underground Porta Venezia Station that will take you to the cathedral in 5 minutes if you do not want to walk.

Old flat with modern amenities, hi-tech apparels and vintage charme!

Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

We visited 5 different VRBO's in Italy and this was the best by far. Maria Teresa, the proprietor, was phenomenal. When we arrived there after a tiring travel, she was waiting for us, helped us navigate the busy street, and made the check in a breeze. The uber clean/ organized apartment was excellent with full air conditioning, stocked with snacks and tons of guide books, and modernized with a large shower and usb ports in the wall. Maria Teresa had a book filled with restaurant recommendation(menu and business cards in the book) for the traveling foodie. It also included information and maps for Milan. When we had significant trouble trying to return our rental car, Maria Teresa went above and beyond in helping us return it and helping us avoid an additional cleaning fee and extra day charge. It was like having a little guardian angel looking out for us. This was a great experience and would recommend this apartment to anyone who is looking for a wonderful space, great location, and incredible service. Too bad we can't give a 6 star review!!!!

Owner's Response: Many thanks Sheela. Also you and your family have been special guests! As I mentioned you, when I welcome travelers into my apartment I feel like the embassador of my town and I feel to interact with them above all if they have problems; it's my concept of hospitality. As I wrote in the description of my listing: please, feel free to interact with me as much or as little as you would like to, by the way I will always respect your privacy!

We’ll be back!

  • 5 of 5

This is a vibrant city somewhat overlooked amongst first visits to Italy. Ok, so as you return wander to the north of this lovely country (Lake Como is an easy day trip away/Switzerland a train hop away) then here’s your accommodation. Centrally located (access to an excellent Metro just outside your door) family friendly, impecably clean, all with an engaging owner who makes it her personal mission to accommodate and make you feel welcome! We’ve been to many VRBO’s and this is among the best!

Milan stay

  • 5 of 5

We had a comfortable stay in Maria's place. She personally attended to both the check-in and check-out and also helped arrange an airport taxi ride for us. She was very responsive and

always available for any queries. On the whole, we had a good stay in Maria's place
