About Tommaso Marchetti

My name is Thomas Marchetti, a civil engineer and owner of the farm with my brother Hector, a graduate in statistics. We have inherited the farm and although they have different and demanding work we do everything to develop and preserve the family property in the best way, as it has been handed down.

Why Tommaso Marchetti chose Ascoli Piceno

The property, known as "The Piggia" belongs to our family for several generations and until the seventies there were settled farmers who live off the fruit of breeding cattle in the barn on the ground floor and work in the field, planted with fodder, olive groves , and cereals. Later campaigns were depopulated, abandoned house and used as a warehouse, and on the ground, which was likely to remain uncultivated, a vineyard was planted. In the early 2000 the house was renovated and modernized and has since been used occasionally also for rental. In 2015 a major restructuring with the creation of the new pool, pergolas, with the outer area of accommodation and service improvement and home furnishings, to enable it to welcome an international clientele accustomed to high standards. The aim is a better use of the property and the use of an asset that has some unique features, popular with first visitors, whom we thank. We continue during the winter season working to improve it and appreciate your suggestions.

What makes this villa unique

For me, the house has the objective characteristics that are easily recognizable as the immense and contemporary view of the sea, the hills and the high mountains of the Marche and Abruzzo, the quiet of a secluded position and the simultaneous proximity to population centers, to fun services, ten minutes from the sea and beaches, roads, railway. The charm given off by the green of the vineyards that surround it, the sea breeze that refreshes, the fig trees ..........

Then for me the charm of good refuge, the place where you can relax without conditions, the small winery where I prepare, together with my friends, my wines, not to sell but only to taste with friends, waiting for a compliment or a special appreciation. .... the small vegetable garden or small orchard grown without any fertilizer or chemical product with the fruits from the special flavor and clean. The satisfaction of producing a top quality olive oil, excellent, rather than biological, oil which is the real essence of our land. There are a thousand reasons to love the property and I hope that every guest has the good fortune to discover their own ............

Traumhaftes Anwesen in toller Lage

  • 5 of 5

Very disappointing- not a villa, but an apartment

  • 1 of 5

we stayed here for one week. This is not a villa as stated, but an apartment above a wine cellar. We felt deceived by the advertisement. If you are looking for a villa where you can open the doors to the pool, then this is not the house you are looking for. It is an apartment.

The owner/manager and I twisted about this problem for days and they will disagree with me, but I feel it is important to express this in a review.

The apartment is on top of a secluded hill and doesn't have the expected kitchen supplies. It is actually quite empty.

The location is also quite secluded on top of a hill.

Sergio the manager does try his best to make you feel comfortable.

Owner's Response: The house we are renting it is a beautiful mansion into the heart of the Marche countryside. It is situated on a top hill which gives you some breathtaking views of the countryside, the magnificent vineyard & the Adriatic see. This is actually what our guests like the most about the location. The advertising is a realistic description of what we are offering. The house itself is made of two floors. The first floor of 200 mq completely reformed in 2015 and a ground floor where starting from summer 2016 (before then the ground floor was not included in the description) guests will enjoy a new enormous living room with a kitchen & a view at the garden & at the swimming pool. The ground floor also has a vinery, where guests are welcome to enter & try for free our home made wine. Tommaso Marchetti

Fantastic view

  • 5 of 5

The house is perfect for a quiet getaway. It's setting on the hill is lovely and the view fantastic. On one side you have the sea, the other side the valley and with good weather the top of snowy mountains. The house is very big and clean, the beds good and the interior is typically Italian. The garden is even bigger. Nice olive trees and off course the swimming pool. We even saw a little fox runaway. We loved the biological garden in where we could eat as much as we wanted. We made lot's of tomato sauce for the pasta. The owner is very friendly and grows his one Vineyard and bottles his own wine. We had the privilege to taste some of them. THey tasted very good. Definitely a place to visit again.

Prachtige villa in adembenemend kader op een boogscheut van de zee.

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful holiday in a lovely house!

  • 5 of 5

What a lovely house! We had a very nice stay at Villa Marchetti. We liked the location, because the house was in the end of the road so it provided us privacy. The garden and the pool were very nice! I miss all the good tomatoes from the garden :)

Tommaso was very helpful and gave us good information.

I also recommend a trip to Ripatransone, that's a very beautiful village!

The most wonderful surroundings!

  • 5 of 5

We were 7 ladies in the house and stayed for one week.

We really had a wonderful time in the house. We recommend hiring a car, the walks down to cupra marittima and back were true workouts :)

The house was clean, calm and had a great pool and fantastic garden, everything you need. The surroundings were perfekt for a peaceful vaccation and a lot of privacy. Last but not least the owner Tommaso: a wonderful man! Respectful, giving and did everything in his power to make us feel pleased with the house!

We all want to return!

The estate, owned by the Marchetti family for generations, covers 15 hectares and is located 200 m. above sea level. The constant breeze ensures a warm temperate in the summer.

The company is mainly cultivated with vineyards and olive groves in full in organic farming certified by more than seven years. Our area is full of attractions and can satisfy many interests: Sea - Mountain - Hiking in the hills - Cellars - Excellent food- excellent wine production centers historicist Pinacoteche- Musei- Grotte

 What to visit

Our guests love to spend their days relaxing by the pool or on the beach, go for walks in our countryside. During the summer almost every night in nearby towns there are festivals (local festivals) with typical foods of the area, events and shows. You can not get bored. If you sometimes do more ... ........... here are some ideas

Cupra Marittima the Malacological museum, which contains one of the most important collections worldwide shells

in San Benedetto del Tronto the Museum of the Sea fish species and history of important local marine

Ascoli Piceno . . about 50 km. City of ancient origins, retains a very nice old town, churches, monuments, art gallery, archaeological museum, Lombard towers, and especially the magnificent Piazza del Popolo. In Piazza del Popolo stop by the cafe "Meletti", Hemingway's favorite.

Loreto; 46 Km Catholic shrine dedicated to Our Lady of Loreto

All the surrounding municipalities. (Ripatransone, Offida, Castignano, Montefiore, Massignano etc) with small historical centers, but very well kept, beautiful churches, which often preserve important paintings (many paintings by Crivelli), palaces, small museums. If you have to pick just one visit Offida, its square and the church of Santa Maria della Rocca. (25 km). Grottammare has a historic center, well maintained, with shops and restaurants and a splendid view of the sea. To see at least one evening.

Our Mountains. Sibilla hills. Monti della Laga. Gran Sasso Maiella. There are dozens of places not to be missed for lovers of the mountains. If you have only one day available I can recommend a trip to Arquata- Castelluccio - Norcia. (100 km one way).

For opera lovers; The "Sferisterio" of Macerata (80 km) has an opera season excellent.

Frasassi caves 130km. The Frasassi caves are underground caves that are located in the municipality of Genga, in the province of Ancona .. Very beautiful . The tour takes about 3 hours. The cave complex falls within the Regional Natural Park of Gola della Rossa and Frasassi.

Rocca di Gradara. 160 Km of the Paolo and Francesca Castle.

Rome . You can also decide to make a day trip to Rome. bus line connecting several times a day Cupra Marittima in Rome (Tiburtina station). The journey takes just over three hours and the price is around € 30 return.
