Why Nhu Vu chose Northeast Washington
This property is truly one of a kind in DC. You will have shared access to probably one of the largest backyards that you'll find of any home available in DC, with a level ground so that if you want to play a game of soccer, it's totally doable. We love sports, and the ability to feel like you have quiet and peace, and space in a megaurban area like DC is exceptionally unique. Being closeby to the Aquatic Gardens is amazing too, because you're completely immersed in wildlife there. And yet, you're in DC!
Please do not access the Main Home as it is a different rental. (Both properties have their own separate entrances.
Please use free street parking as the driveway is reserved for residents of main home.
No smoking, and please take shoes off inside home. Noise levels should be down by 10pm according to DC ordinance.

My two friends and I stayed here over the long weekend. Nhu was very helpful and responsive to and and all requests. The one main issue we had was with the temperature in the unit. The main house has access to the thermostat, but the guest house does not, meaning the guests in the guests house are completely at the mercy of the guests in the main house. For us, the downstairs was always cold (even with the space heater on) and the upstairs was incredibly warm. We closed the vents, opened the windows, etc, but didn't get to a stable temperature where everyone was comfortable- we were either sweating or freezing.
Otherwise, the place was clean. I would recommend you to bring your own body wash as the shower is only stocked with shampoo and conditioner. I would also recommend to the property manager that having the guest house guests take out the trash and put it on the curb is a little much to ask. If you have cleaners come anyway, I would say have them deal with the trash because it felt like we were encroaching on the main house guests when we went to the trash cans on the side of the house.
The place was very clean and comfy and beautiful and the owners obviously put in a lot of thought and time into designing the place and it shows. Very excellent, highly recommend!
The home is very accessible for visiting downtown DC landmarks on the mall and checking out the Southwest Wharf area which was the US's biggest revitalization project last year. The Metro on the orange line will take you directly to the Mall as well, but if you have a car, I recommend that especially for groups since street parking is generally available, and because the cost for subway tickets isn't as cheap as you might think! (it can be 4 dollars one way!)
The most beautiful place that I can't recommend enough is taking a glance into the Lily Ponds which is 5 minutes walk away from the home, and walking to the Boardwalk there, which will give you the most peaceful view of the Anacostia river. If you are there during the summer, it's a must see for the lotus and lilies.
For eating, I definitely recommend Union Market which is a hip food court with great selection and easy parking. Nearby restaurants in the vicinity by Union Market are great, too, like O-ku sushi.
