We stayed as a party of 12 with an age range of 3-83 years, for a family celebration. The house completely suited our needs with plenty of space so as not to feel on top of each other. Staying in January we weren't expecting good weather but the house was beautifully warm. We crossed the road for a bracing walk on the beach. The house was so well equipped, the younger ones particularly liked the Bluetooth speakers through which they could play their music. What can I say about the welcome pack.....amazing, thank you so much. I can't think of any negative things to say. We all thoroughly enjoyed our weekend and the grandkids are all asking when we can do it again! So thanks for making my 'special' birthday special, it really is a beautiful house.
We stayed at The Ark as a family of 4 generations and we were most impressed by the size and the space of the house. There was ample room to spread out across all 3 floors and the children loved the bunk beds! Having kitchens on each floor was a bonus and there was plenty of space to chill out and play pool. The views of the sea from the upper verandas was superb and we were able to enjoy some Autumn sunshine and sunsets there too. We were thrilled to find such a generous welcome basket - and enjoyed all the lovely goodies supplied, thank you Angela. The Ark is well situated for leisurely walks along the new prom or vast beach towards Camber and for visiting nearby historical towns of Rye and Hastings. We had a wonderful week in this very unique house!
Thank you Angela for your good communication and attention to detail.

My family and friends recently hired the Ark and had a lovely time. The accommodation is truly impressive and spacious. The fact it was such a tall building also helped with guests easily spotting the towering presence. The view from the top balcony was stunning particularly when watching the sun set. The fact each floor had its own kitchen/wc helped share the load..... The only issue we had was with the internet not connecting/losing signal which was an annoyance and the weather (no fault of the owner...) which disrupted our bar b que plans, it would have been ideal if there was a sheltered bar b q location (perhaps worth considering!!). All in all lovely time, lovely accommodation and hoping to re-visit again in the summer.
Would like to say a quick thankyou to the owner Angela for always being on hand to provide information and help, it made our holiday break run smoothly...
We had a fantastic family hoilday staying in the Ark for a week (26/8 to 2/9). The property was everything we could have hoped for and more. We were a group of 9 people and 1 small dog - the house was so big that we never felt cramped or on top of each other. As a family we loved the ground floor - with the games room / dining area. The kitchen was really big and we were all able to muck in when it came to cooking and tidying up afterwards. We had my elderly mum with us and the downstairs wet room was a god send for her. We loved the middle living area for after dinner tv/dvd watching. My husband and I had the top floor and really enjoyed the privacy and fantastic views from the terrace. We were met by the owners brother on arrival and he was very welcoming (I have never had such a great welcome pack either - there was so much including wine and a lovely big cake) showing us around and providing us with all the information we needed. He was on hand if we needed anything - he brought over 2 bbqs for us to use and when I texted him becuse we couldn't find a dust pan and brush or the fuse box he came straightover to help. They just couldn't do enough for us. We loved the location - across from the road from the beach - really convenient and we spent every day on the beach as the weather was glorious. Some people might not like being so far from shops/pubs etc but we didn't mind. We did walk into Camber Sands but it was a good 30/40 minutes walk and there wasn't much there. I would recomend Rye if you want to eat / drink out or shop. There was space for 4 cars to park at the property. The house was decorated to a very high standard and we had everything we needed with the 3 kitchens ! plenty of fridges to hold all our supplies.
I would definately recommend this propoerty and would love to return next year. My only slightly negative comments would be - WIFI was a little slow and the dishwasher was quite small for such a large house (but these were minor considerations and certainly didn't spoil things for us). All in all we had the best family holiday ever
The Ark was beautiful and absolutely perfect for my big group of friends and I to live in for a long weekend. The house was spacious enough that everyone could be playing games and hanging out downstairs and you couldn't hear a thing from the top floor. There was never a moment when the house felt crowded! The pool table kept us very occupied and there was plenty to do nearby.
It's only a 2 minute walk to get over the wall and too the sandy beach, which was beautiful in the evening when the sun is setting.
Camber sands is an amazing sandy beach and Rye is a short drive away, and it is really fun to explore the cobbled streets. If you can find it, The Cobbles Tea Room (Rye) is perfect for loose leaf teas, big hot chocolates, home made cakes and those all important cream teas!
Our house and surrounding houses had a powercut on the Sunday evening, which was not a problem as Angela rang me to assure that back up lighting should be on and the wifi should last until the power comes back on! The problem was quickly solved by take away pizza's from Antonio's in Camber Sands (just a short drive away) and a game of charades; and the power coming back on shortly after.
We only had one issue with a shower door on the top floor but Angela was only a phone call away to sort it out!
Angela made us all feel welcome, and the welcome basket was such a lovely surprise. We couldn't of asked for a better house to stay in, and we feel so lucky to have found it and been able to stay in it!
Thank you for everything!
The property was clean, spacious and great for our family get together. The beds were made and were very clean, the quilts were also thick in quality. You can walk into Camber takes about 15/20 mins. The owner was always happy to answer and questions we had and was very helpful. We would go back for another family get together.
Camber's award winning blue flag beach is one of the best known beaches on the South Coast and offers a variety of activities including kite wind surfing, surfing, land yachting, fishing as well as numerous other activities nearby including wildlife havens at Dungeness and Rye Harbour Nature Reserve.
