SPRING BREAK OFFER; 25% OFF!
Enjoy a Spring Break at Montaña Rosa in February or March for just €45 per night. Discover the beautiful Axarquia region as Spring awakens in a burst of colour on the flowering mountainsides.
Have you ever wanted a holiday free of cluttered beaches, high-rises and crowded pool areas?
Welcome to Montaña Rosa, your own private home from home where you can relax in the shady corners of your own private garden, lie in the warmth of the sun beside your own pool and dine on the nearby terrace with food fresh from your own barbeque.
It's intimate, peaceful and relaxing.
Set among the stunning, mountainous scenery of the Axarquia, Montaña Rosa is a large, self-contained casita nestled in a lush, sub-tropical garden with every facility for a relaxing break from life's stresses.
With a large bedroom and ensuite bathroom, you will immediately be drawn into the sense of peace and tranquility that imbues both home and garden. Relax by your private pool with some light food and wine or under the shade of the outdoor room with its long, low table and comfortable bamboo seating. Bring a good book to the table under the vine and feel time slow down or sit at the little table in front of the stone garden and plan your tomorrows. Later you can fire up the barbeque, cook a locally produced steak or fish from the market, and enjoy it all with a glass of fruity Rioja at the dining area near the pool. Time is your own, though it moves more slowly here than you may be used to.
Surrounded by olive and almond groves with wonderful walking paths and vistas right down to the coast. Long beach at Torre del Mar just 30 minutes away and plenty of white villages nearby to explore such as Alfarnate, Alfarnatejo, Periana and Comares - all beautiful in their own way and maintained to a high standard with planters and boxes of flowering plants. Each have their own regular festivals celebrating some aspect for which the town or village will be well known, from Alfarnate's cherry harvest to Periana's gloriously fruity olive oil. From gazpacho soup to the birthday of San Isidro, there's always a cause for celebrating something or someone with music, wine and food and the genuine bonhomie for which the locals are justly famous.
There are walking trails for the fit and not so fit, mountain climbing, off-road cycling routes, motor cycle routes along the rugged coastline, tours of Malaga's inspiring historical sites, art galleries - including the Picasso Museum - the magnificent historical botanical gardens at La Concepción (voted one of the best in Europe) and a bewildering array of restaurants, tapas bars and delis all on our doorstep or just a short drive away.
It's yours to discover and make your own, at your own pace, in your own time.
My wife, a professional artist, and I moved here after falling in love with this most unique and tranquil part of Spain, its warm and hospitable people and the ever-changing colours of the landscape. I gave up a career in graphic design to concentrate on this new venture, bringing more people into contact with a Spain not found in the glossy brochures. A vibrant, close-knit and welcoming Spain that still retains so much of what has sadly been lost to the stresses of a world in a hurry..
Tony Hartnett purchased this apartment in 2014
Montaña Rosa is a peaceful, relaxing and intimate experience, very different to the common perception of Spain as a place where crowded high-rise apartments clutter the coastline. Here you will be in touch with nature, with tranquility and with the traditions that still predominate in the towns and villages around us. Behind us and to the sides are the majestic mountains of Malaga's Nature Reserve. Straight ahead the valley meanders between further hills, layered in shades of pale mauve and blue, down to the coast where the Meditteranean sparkles in the sun.
High above the mountains eagles soar on the updrafts, searching for prey. Along the mountain paths Spring and Summer bring bursts of colour in a huge array of flowers and shrubs or fig trees laden down with sweet, sun-warmed fruit. Later in the year pomegranates, oranges and sweet kaki fruit are harvested, along with the olives that go to make the wonderful, fruity oil. We're surrounded by an abundance of glorious, natural produce.
Andalusia enjoys one of the world's healthiest climates and Montaña Rosa, at an elevation of over six bundred metres, has both the warmth of the sun and the cleanliness of pure mountain air that can invigorate mind, body and spirit.
Onze vlucht had tweeënhalf uur vertraging waardoor we plots middernacht aankwamen.
My daughter and I spent a wonderful week here returning last weekend, neither of us wanted to leave. The visit enhanced by Denise and Tony's generosity, kindness and helpfulness. We spent the week eating, swimming in the fabulous pool, and catching up on much needed rest, but Montana Rosa is equally well placed for sight seeing, and exploring and experiencing the real Spain. The pictures of this property do not do it justice, it is simply beautiful, set with the stunning mountains as a backdrop. A big thank you to Tony and Denise for making our week extra special. Gracious and helpful hosts, stunning scenery, excellent accommodation, friendly locals, good food nearby, at very reasonable cost. Full marks all round.
Spent 4 fantastic nights at Montana Rosa with my wife. We were given a lovely welcome by Tony and Denise along with the resident cats ☺. The most relaxing and romantic place to stay, I would recommend this lovely little house to anyone wanting to escape and unwind. Tony and Denise gave us complete privacy but were always on hand if we needed them. Thank you both and we will definitely see you again.
Nous disons: allez-y, retournez y.... Tout simplement exceptionnel aucune ombre au tableau... Bravo
