Given a five star rating by the Saas Fee Tourist Office, this privately owned penthouse apartment is modern, spacious and stylish. It is only two minutes walk from the centre of the village, and five minutes walk from the nursery slopes/ski lifts. It is close to everything but quiet. The large sunny balcony has stunning views across the mountain range, glacier and nursery slope. The apartment has been furnished to a high standard and the impressive sitting room with dining area has an open log fire, flat screen TV,DVD & CD player. There is also high speed internet access and a cupboard full of board games! There are three bedrooms, one double (which has an incredible view) and two twins which also have great views of Hannig. One of the twins is en-suite and there is an additional bathroom for the other two rooms. There is a lift which has exclusive direct private access to inside the apartment. Located in the basement is a superb Wellness Centre. This has a fully equipped gym, one large sauna, a steam room, jacuzzi and plunge pool.

Saas Fee - known as the 'Pearl of the Alps': Aptly named, Saas Fee does have a magical quality for this village is brimming with character and Swiss charm, with its delightful restaurants tucked away in the woods and traditional shops on the car free cobblestoned streets. A romantic getaway and a great family resort with a huge range of activities that you can do in both Summer and Winter. Apart from the skiing which can be enjoyed all year round, you can take the cable car up to Hannig and sledge down a 5km run, day and night! There is a bob sleigh track on the mountain side, husky rides, an outdoor ice skating rink, mountain biking, ice climbing, zip wire across the gorge, bungy trampolining, an Olympic size swimming pool and children's pool with slide. There are over 30kms of hiking trails, 100kms of ski slopes, cross country trails and a snowboard park which has 10 foot walls of ice - the famous Half Pipe. The nursery slopes are ideal for beginners with a special fun snow park for young children and a first class ski school

About Natalie Timbrell

We have been coming to Saas Fee for over 20 years and have also skied in many other resorts, however there is something very special about this beautiful village. Our three children all learnt to ski here from toddler age!They are aged 20, 14 and 11 now. They have always enjoyed staying in Saas Fee as there is so much to do. In the winter if we didn't ski, they would be sledging, ice skating, riding the mountain roller coaster or just messing around playing in the snow! In the summer you can use the cable ways for free with the new Saas Fee passport and go on some great walks and cycle rides.

Why Natalie Timbrell chose Saas Fee

We bought the penthouse apartment in this building from the plans and watched it being built in 2003. We knew that we would never find a better position in the village as it has everything! Every room has the most incredible view! There is a large south facing, sunny balcony which gets plenty of sunshine even in December! t is very close to the shops (3 mins), but far enough away from the main streets to be quiet. It is only a short walk to the ski lifts on the nursery slope.

What makes this apartment unique

We have always loved having a sauna or a steam after a long day skiing so having your own spa that you can use just a lift ride away is one of the best things about this apartment. The other is the view, it will literally take your breath away! You can lie in bed looking at the mountains and still have privacy! It's amazing!

The washing machine is not in the apartment (as in Saas Fee this is not allowed in a communal building). It is shared between the apartments and is located on the ground floor. You must pay a small amount to use it and ask Lise for help as you will need a special card.

Superb accommodation in the centre of Saas Fee

The comfort, warmth, location, facilities and quality of furnishings in this apartment are second to none. A wonderful place to start and end each day. Saas Fee is a chocolate box village and the skiing was superb, even in April. Everything you could possibly need from ski equipment to a supermarket to several cosy bars and restaurants are a short walk from the apartment. I would highly recommend Saas Fee and this apartment to anyone thinking of a holiday in the Swiss Alps.

Perfect apartment in a great location

This is the third year that we've skied in Sas Fee and this was by far the best place we've stayed. It was also the cheapest which was a bonus! We are a large family of six that needs space in which to relax. To be honest, I was a little concerned that this apartment wouldn't be big enough. The photos don't do it justice. There is ample space in which to relax and unwind.

The apartment is well equipped and very clean. Sitting at the top of the building is an advantage too as there are great views of the ski slopes. The building is just behind the church, in the centre of town, so very close to the shops and restaurants. Its also just a five minute walk to the slopes. The boot room and wellness centre are both excellent facilities.

We really enjoyed staying here and would recommend it to anyone. Its well priced, well located and it has everything you might need for a family ski trip to this wonderful town.

Schuss Heaven

We've skied as a family throughout Europe over many enjoyable years, just occasionally serendipity has raised its head and twelve years ago we discovered Saas Fee, becoming totally beguiled with the village and all its charm. More recently we discovered this apartment which has truly enhanced our pleasure of the resort. The combination of the exclusive quality of the accommodation with all its facilities and the splendid skiing available has guaranteed our annual return for many years to come. Grandchildren, parents and grandparents alike have taken time out from skiing to relax on the balcony and appreciate the panoramic view, truly magnificent, particularly in the mornings as the sun highlights the peaks. This must surely be one of the prime sites in the village.

There are rumours that Saas Fee is perhaps to be linked to Zermatt in the near future which will certainly massively increase the Ski mileage, but for those of us who are looking for the unique ambience and character of a Swiss village along with quality living, look no further. It doesn't get any better!

Perfect for our family

Chateau A was the perfect place for our family of 5 to stay during our time in Saas Fee. It is central to everything we wanted to do ie. supermarket, gorgeous boutique shops, ski, hire, ski school for kids, lifts, indoor pool, tabogonning, ice cave, sledging. What a winter wonderland Saas Fee is, and the snow is to die for!

The chateau is perfectly equipped for everything a large group needs, with 6 beds, cutlery, crockery, and plenty of cookware. We ate all our meals at "home" mainly because its easier with little kids and also because eating out is so expensive in Switzerland, so the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed.

Lise was very helpful and told us where to go for everything we wanted to do. There is a drying room downstairs and plenty of room to store skis etc. There is also a private lift to the apartment so we never actually saw anyone else in the building. But I don't think there were too many people in the building because we went the week before Christmas and all of Saas Fee was pretty quiet - the perfect time to go. Apparently they were expecting 10,000 guests the day we left!

This was the perfect family holiday for 3 little Aussie kids who had never touched snow before. We all had a ball, and it was so lovely to come 'home' to very comfortable accommodation each day. I would highly recommend it to any family or group of friends as a wonderful place to stay.

eagles nest

what a great apartment - its a real eagles nest with views over the main slopes and with many roof lights facing up to the glacier! Lovely practically positioned apartment with everything you could need - we had a couple of young children with us and it proved good for them too. I'd definitely go back

Fantastic apartment, luxury in every sense!

We had a wonderful 5 days here in March 2012. It was our 1st visit to Saas Fee & the village is just heavenly - so pretty, traditional, with loads to do!

We were very over excited when we arrived at the apartment, as the photos do not do it justice! The kitchen/living room is very spacious with a stunning, large terrace with views over the mountains. The kitchen was extremely well equipped, as were the bathrooms. The rooms are very luxurious and the whole place is beautifully decorated & kitted out. We will definitely be coming back! It was great for our party - 2 grandparents, 1 uncle, us & our 2 yr old son. Liese was so helpful - answering our every question or need. Thank you all so much (for the sunshine & gorgeous weather & wonderful snow too!)

Saas Fee is a car free glacier village. It lies on a high plateau 1800 metres above sea level, at the foot of the highest Swiss mountains, the Mischabel chain. As it is so high, there is guaranteed snow during the winter season and glacier skiing all year round. It is a very pretty village with lots of character and traditional charm. There are over 100 km of ski slopes, snowboard parks, 30 km of hiking trails and one of the longest toboggan runs in the world. Traveling to Saas Fee is straightforward and there are a number of options. Apart from the ferry/driving through France route, there are also a number of direct flights to Geneva or Zurich from the UK. There are good rail connections from the airports to Visp, the nearest major town and then a short bus journey up the mountain to Saas Fee itself. There is also car hire available at the airport and parking at the top of the village. Luggage can be transferred to the apartment in electric taxis.
