Description

Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday apartment in Torquay - HESKETH CRESCENT 15B

A beautiful regency-style apartment with home comforts and fantastic sea views!

**We offer Short Break stays in off-peak periods throughout the year, so please feel free to enquire for information about our 'Less than 7 night' tariffs.**

Offering palatial Regency-style proportions alongside home comforts, this spacious holiday home offers an elegant sea view escape in all seasons!

Located in the exclusive setting of Hesketh Crescent, the Grade II* listed apartment, is situated to the first floor at the end of terraced crescent, and boasts a full length balcony and spectacular sea views to write home about!

CAUTION: Hesketh Crescent was built in 1846 and we ask all our guests to take extreme care when enjoying the balcony as the wrought iron railings do not meet today's legal height requirement of 1.1m.

Internally, the regal proportions of the first floor can easily be admired, with high ceilings and original period features to transport you on a wave of timeless indulgence.

Guests can easily relax within the serenity of the classical style living room. Attractively decorated in an inviting palette of pale gold alongside soft plush furnishings, the room oozes boutique-style comfort. The four picture windows offer breath taking views across Meadfoot Beach and far out to sea, for a back drop that will always enthral and inspire, whatever the weather!

The electric fire to the original marble fireplace, offers an ambient setting here in the autumn and winter evenings, whilst the partially covered private balcony offers the ideal spot from which to enjoy a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine, as the sun sets.

Guests of all ages can easily socialise to the living room, with the comfort of the sofa suite to delve into plus a FreeView flat screen TV, DVD player and PlayStation to enjoy.

A couple of steps lead’s down to a fully-equipped kitchen, conveniently equipped for a carefree stay. All the must-have appliances are provided including an electric hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washer dryer.

Guests can wine and dine their holiday away here, with a breath taking sea view dining room conveniently situated next to the kitchen.

The holiday apartment provides the perfect retreat for groups of 4 accommodated in two bedrooms. The master bedroom offers a king size bed and pile carpet with wash basin and fitted wardrobe. Providing an ambience of restful calm, the sea views make the room ideal for enjoying a tempting lie-in during your stay.

The second bedroom offers added versatility, with a twin set of single beds overlooking the beautiful Meadfoot Beach. Balcony access can also be enjoyed from this bedroom, making it easy to take in the far reaching coastal scenery during your stay.

A contemporary fitted bathroom complete with bath tub, overhead shower, wash basin, heated towel rail and WC completes the internal layout of this splendid retreat.

Outside guests will find an allocated parking space to hand near the entrance to the crescent. For an additional cost, guests can also make the most of the gym, sauna, indoor spot and tennis court (extra hourly charge of £5 p/h extra) on offer in the Osborne Hotel Health Club.

From the iconic setting of Hesketh Crescent, guests can easily reach the relaxed Blue Flag sands of Meadfoot Beach. The wide range of shops, restaurants and bars of Torquay are also within a 15-20 minute walk, up and over the headland.

The picturesque seaside resort town offers a wealth of activities and attractions to enjoy, from taking a boat trip to Brixham or Dartmouth, visiting Kents Cavern and the Living Coasts attraction to splashing around at the Waves Leisure Pool, exploring Compton Castle and following the Agatha Christie trail. The seaside setting is also ideal for reaching the wide range of outdoor pursuits and attractions on offer along the English Riviera of South Devon.

From breath-taking coastal walks, golf, cycling and water sports to sailing, diving and exploring the nearby fisherman villages and delights of Dartmoor; all this and more awaits!

Review from Roy in Kidderminster: "Very impressive apartment lovely and warm right overlooking the beach and we'll equipped. Let's itself down with silly little things only one toilet roll for the week no oven glove but enjoyed the week we had there would return".

Outstanding property and location

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from our weeks stay at 15b Hesketh Crescent.

All very sad to leave, as the accommodation and location were just about perfect.

The views from both bedrooms, dining room and the living room were beautiful.

Accommodation had everything needed and more for a great stay.

Can't think of a negative point to balance review. Already planning to come back next year, highly recommended.

Golf:

There are several Golf Clubs in the area, the nearest one being Torquay Golf Club - Petitor Road, St Marychurch,Torquay, Devon TQ1 4QF Telephone: (01803) 314 591

Torquay Golf Club is an extremely popular venue for visitors and societies alike - due to the excellent service and friendly welcome provided. It is a delightful parkland course with stunning views over Lyme Bay to the east and Dartmoor to the west.

Torquay makes a great short break for Golfers in both summer and winter. When many other courses are snowbound or unplayable the clement Torbay weather ensures that a full 18 holes can be completed!

Torquay:

Torquay is the jewel in the Torbay crown and has seen a lot of investment in recent years, with more attractions, inner harbour and slip way renovations, the introduction of Living Coasts and a plethora of great dining and harbour side cafés. The latest news indicates that the new shape of Torquay is attracting inward investment from luxury hotel chains, which can only boost its popularity further and a return year on year of the very popular wheel, seen at the London Olympics. Hesketh Crescent however is a quiet haven in the most sought after part of Torbay, yet within easy striking distance of all amenities. It has the best of all worlds!

The English Riviera - The perfect choice:

The English Riviera is a resort in the truest sense of the word, attracting visitors of all ages and interests throughout the year. Undergoing a water front regeneration and a number of new attractions in Torquay and accommodation schemes, Torquay has something for everyone and for all ages, at all times of the year!

Torquay has been one of the UK 's top holiday destinations since Victorian Times when the gentry promenaded, bathing huts were wheeled down to the beaches and anyone who was anyone had an attractive villa overlooking the sea.

It was the Victorians who first used the English Riviera name to describe their favourite resort and their legacy remains to this day with sparkling white villas perched on the verdant hilltops, beautiful gardens around the seafront and elegant Victorian facades along the main streets.

Don't be fooled by the Victorian ancestry however, Torquay is also a vibrant and forward thinking resort attracting visitors of all interests, from Art and Culture aficionados to marine enthusiasts.

Torquay's famous seven hills provide the backdrop to a waterfront scene that matches anything you'll find on the French Riviera.

There are 22 miles of coastline, cliffs, coves and beaches and walks to rival any in the South West of England, with a climate that belongs somewhere much further south. There are opportunities for surfing, safe swimming, diving, sailing, angling and wonderful opportunities to study the natural wildlife at your leisure

Stunning views are to be seen just about every where across Torbay, out over the English Channel , along the 40 miles of Lyme Bay to Portland Bill or inland towards the Ten Tors Dartmoor. Torquay is an ideal base from which to visit Dartmouth , Totnes, Exeter and Plymouth , all of which are only a few miles distant.
