About Pauline Prevost

My name is Pauline Prevost and I live in the UK with my husband, Ivan. We have wanted a 'place in the sun' for many years and finally bought the property earlier this year for our own use and also to let to holiday makers.

Pauline Prevost purchased this villa in 2015

Why Pauline Prevost chose Camposol

We have been coming to this part of Spain over the last 10 years. We love the Costa Calida area as it one of the most unspoilt of the Spanish Costas. Food and drink served in the restaurants is excellent and great value for money. The local Blue Flag beaches of Mazarron and Bolnuevo are beautiful and range from small coves to large stretches of sand over a kilometre long, and are less than half an hour easy drive away.

Away from the coast is the national park of the Sierra Espunas - great for those who love to walk or go mountain biking or for just taking in the amazing scenery.

The villa is on the Camposol urbanization which benefits from a golf course and good commercial areas with supermarkets, shops, bars, restaurants etc., about 7 mins drive away from the villa. The nearest bar/restaurant to the villa is at the golf club, 3-4 mins drive away, and we feel that a hire car is essential to fully enjoy a holiday at our villa.

Camposol has good road links to Cartagena, Lorca and Murcia city - well worth a visit for those interested in architecture and history. There are several local villages and towns both inland and along the coast - well worth exploring if you are interested in seeing 'real Spain'.

What makes this villa unique

The villa has a lovely large pool and roof terrace. The sun is on the pool terrace most of the day, ideal for sunworshipping! The roof terrace is great for catching those last rays of sun, and the roof top lounge is great for chilling out on cooler, spring (or autumn) evenings, sipping a glass of local wine and watching the sunset.

Homely Villa

  • 4 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the villa was very homely and had everything you could possibly need. We loved the welcome pack especially the wine! The pool was fantastic and both our children loved spending their day having lots of fun with the inflatables provided. It was a great size and very clean. Carol was exceptionally helpful and was able to sort out a few minor issues immediately. The communication from Pauline was prompt and she was extremely helpful sending directions and giving us lots of information. We would be happy to return to this villa again. Many thanks.

We stayed here in august 2017, the weather was really hot!!!, the communication was absolutely perfect and we found the villa easily with the directions given .

When we arrived we were met by Carol , we had an amazing welcome pack and she gave us all the info we needed , she is available anytime on the phone, we only contacted her once and she replied straight away .

The villa is a home away from home. It is perfect , everything is provided from beach towels down to shopping bags for the supermarket .The pool is the perfect size and easily fits 4 in . The drive to the beach is not long and there are a choice of beaches to go to. The Spanish people in the beach restaurants are so lovely and helpful. It was a much needed holiday. It's so good we've booked to go again!

  • 5 of 5

The booking process was very easy and communication between Pauline and ourselves was flawless. We were sent very clear directions which got us to the villa within the hour from leaving the car hire depot. One thing I would say about motorway driving in Spain is that the junctions are not numbered consecutively as in the UK; they appear to be based on kilometer distances. Other than that, driving is a breeze and the roads are much better and quieter over there.

On arrival, we were met by Carol - an absolute delight, who was extremely helpful right from the time we arrived and was only a phone call away for a little advice for us when we needed it.

The villa was spotless and had everything you could wish for which I won't go into as everything has already been said in previous reviews. We did wonder if being in close proximity to other villas might cause an issue, perhaps with noise, but nothing could be further from the truth. We hardly saw anybody in the adjacent properties and didn't hear any noise at all. It's just so peaceful.

The pool was the best we've come across at a villa, being fairly large and easily accessed via some very easy steps at the shallow end or, if preferred, a ladder at the deep end.

Campasol, the complex or urbanisation as it's called, has everything you need with shops and restaurants to cater for most tastes although we didn't eat or drink down there. On the opposite side of the 'motorway' is a smaller shopping complex with an English butcher (round the back) who was very helpful. Furthermore, his barbecue packs were superb - highly recommended. Other shopping is available either in Mazarron town or there's a Lidl a bit further on towards Puerto de Mazarron which you come to on the outskirts of the town. Parking is easy if you go straight on past Lidl to the roundabout (approx 1KM) further on and turn right. There's plenty of free street parking. The port is beautiful and there are plenty of places to eat, all of which are reasonably priced.

Car hire: Pauline advised us to check out Centauro who we went with. We chose the Premium package which includes all extras; there's nothing else to pay and you get an express check-in lane when collecting the vehicle. Their mini bus was waiting right outside the airport to take you to their depot which is about a three to four minute drive away.

We loved the whole experience and hence we've booked again already for next yea

A beautifull villa ,absolutely spotless and everything you could need

  • 5 of 5

We found the villa surprisingly easily with the instructions given. We were met by Carol who gave us a guided tour and explained everything thoroughly, we could contact her at anytime which we did when needed to find a pharmacy for my son, nothing was too much trouble.

There was a fabulous welcome pack including red & white wine, beer, butter, bread, milk, water, ham, bacon, cheese, and 40 euros for electric which was more than sufficient.

There were so many things from a well equipped Kitchen, all you needed for the beach i.e parasol, chairs, cool box down to needle and thread, and so many other things too many to mention that made it so perfect.

It was a very quiet residential area so it was wonderfully peaceful , a huge difference from the usual package holiday we are used to which was great. Shops were a 5 minute drive and you could find everything you needed. There were also a selection of small bars/restaurants near by.

We did go to a few of the smaller beaches which were lovely and easy to find, but we loved Puerto Mazarron, the beach although busy not a problem finding a spot. My son loved the huge inflatable water slides in the sea, 9 euros for the whole day, and with wristband you could come and go. Absolutely brilliant to get a little sunbathing time . A must for families with children.

We ate a few times in the Port it was a lovely area and lots going on. We particularly enjoyed a restaurant called Viggos.

We would like to return and visit aIl the beaches we missed. It was an added bonus having the equipment for the beach, the parasol was much needed for a little occasional shade from the 36 degree sunshine which was fantastic.

We did spend a lot of our time at the villa just because it was so perfect and you just really didn't need to go anywhere , we enjoyed the peace to be honest, we went for a rest and that is exactly what we got. Didn't even mind using the BBQ , it was lovely to eat either in the shaded area by the pool or on the porch overlooking the pool.

I did say before I went that I would not be using the washing machine, though I found it great for washing towels after the beach/pool it really wasn't a chore.

In the bathrooms were little goody bowls with extras in case you had forgotten anything, it's all these little touches that help make the place so special and well thought out.

All I can say is that we will definitely go back, and maybe do a little more exploring....or maybe just stay by pool.

Thank you so much.

We 2 couples stayed the beginning of August 2016 and we couldn't of picked a better week weather wise.. Pauline and Carol were superb from the first initial booking right the way through to our departure. The villa had everything we wanted and the lovely welcome pack on our arrival was such a fab touch including wine lager water milk cheese bread and much more. I would certainly recommend hiring a car as we found it so helpful. The villa and area is perfect for people wanting to have a peaceful break.. we certainly had that.... thank you again to Carol and Pauline xxxx

The beautiful beaches around Puerto de Mazarron are about 30 mins drive away. A great selection of very reasonably priced restaurants can be found along the paseo and by the marina. Jet ski and motor boat hire is available by some beaches. There is also a scuba diving centre in the port. There are also glass-bottomed boat trips available from the marina.

Sierra Espuna national park is 30 mins drive away - ideal for walking or mountain biking or spotting the occasional wild boar or mountain goat. The small hilltop town of Aledo is worth a visit - climb to the top of the old Moorish tower for amazing views.

The historic city of Lorca, with its hilltop moorish castle is is also only 30 minutes drive from the villa.

Cartagena, with its historic port and roman amphitheatre, just over 40 minutes away, is well worth a visit. The large port welcomes cruise liners and there is a wealth of historical buildings and ruins including a Roman amphitheatre.
