Bad experience - Difficult to deal with and not as pictured
Be careful. You are required to bring a lot of cash for this rental (No other types of payments are accepted). Very frustrating considering that the host warned up upon arrival to be careful as pickpockets were very aggressive in Barcelona.
This was our second experience with VRBO on this trip to Spain and very much different from our first. Our rental experience in Valencia was exceptional. This rental in Barcelona was very different. The initial rental increased $100 per day from the time of booking to the time we received confirmation. We did have the option to cancel, but at that time just went through with it (A Mistake).
As preciously mentioned, besides having to carry large amounts of cash (or ATM withdraws) to complete the transaction, the apartment was not great. It was fairly old, out of date and not in a great location. The structure looks like the pictures, but the rooms were not as up to date, modern or well kept. There were very little supplies including no toilet paper (we had to buy on our own). Additionally, the location was not very convenient. Most businesses and restaurants near the apartment were closed in early April. It was a 10 minute walk to the nearest Metro station.
On the other hand Barcelona itself ended up as a great place to visit. Other than our apartment, we had an exceptional time.
