We had a great week in Lake George! This was our first time vacationing in Lake George. The house was a perfect for our 2 families. The house may appear small from the outside but it was surprisingly spacious and suited our group of 10 very well. The nights cool right down but each room had a fan if needed. We enjoyed dinner together every night out in the screen-in porch with the large table. The yard is very big and flat with pretty landscaping, so perfect for playing games. The lake bottom and beach is nice sand. It was so easy to dock our boat and hang out on the dock. We had fun boating, tubing and cliff jumping!! The adirondack chairs were great to relax in andthe view was outstanding, but I do wish there was a fire pit! Bolton Landing was a nice 30 min boat ride away where we enjoyed icecream and shopping. The Walmart in Ticonderoga was about a10 minute drive for groceries or essentials. The owner was friendly and very easy to work with. My family enjoyed our stay and would love to come back again.
I searched for two days straight, almost 8 hours each day, to find the perfect location for our next trip that could accommodate our crazy bunch and I think we may have found it. We had such an amazing time there that we can't wait to book the next trip. The outside porch was spectacular, we ate every meal there and played games out there at night as well. We like to play lots of bocce ball all day long, including the nighttime, so some more lighting outside would be great, even tiki torches would be sufficient. Otherwise, I wouldn't able to come up with another suggestion, IT WAS PERFECT! We all even had our own bedrooms. Thanks again for everything and we will see you soon!
My family and friends rented the Crow's Nest in August of 2010. We were a little concerned having not seen the property prior and wondering if the pictures did the place justice. We were VERY pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Sandy was there to meet us and give us a tour, a little history of the house and lake and show us all the ins and outs about the house. She gave us her contact numbers in case we had questions and as the week went on, we had some questions and she was very easy to reach and quick to respond.
We felt right at home from the start. With the size of our group we thought the house may feel small (especially if it rained) but the opposite was true. There is more than enough seating for relaxing, dining and playing games. The view is incredible. The location was a bit protected from choppy winds on the lake which made our kids able to tube, wake board, kayak and canoe easily.
Although the house had a couple spiders (which is to be expected in the woods) we absolutely would recommmend the Crow's Nest. We hope to visit Sandy's home again in the future. She takes pride in her house and it shows throughout including the furnishings and the beautiful landscaped property.
A week was spent at this beautiful log cabin with our family that consisted of ages ranging from 67 to a one-year old. There was something for all to enjoy. The home is very roomy, with a fantastic screened-in front porch overlooking the most extraordinary view of Lake George, and where we had all our meals. Owners thought of and supplied everything to make our stay the most enjoyable one we have ever had in 10 years vacationing at Lake George. The cabin is tucked away to ensure privacy, yet conveniently close to Hague and Ticonderoga. We have the most wonderful memories of our weeks stay at Crows Nest, and hope to return next year.
We were here for 10 days early in the season and enjoyed every minute. The description and pictures were very accurate and the owners were a pleasure to do business with. The location was great - a quieter part of the lake but not too far from everything. Close to a couple of marina's, we rented a boat for a couple of days. The beds were comfortable and the layout of the house made it very roomy. Loved the big screened in porch! The grounds were beautiful, a large flat front lawn leading to the lake and of course the lake itself, beautiful and crystal clear did not disappoint us. I have already recommended this place to friends and hope to get back ourselves next year.
We rented this classic lakefront log cabin for a long weekend in June 09 for a family reunion and everyone really enjoyed the experience. The Owner's were very friendly and helpful to deal with and the cabin was very comfortable and special to us. The authentic log cabin really contributed to the history and spirit of the Adirondack area and made our visit to Lake George a memorable one. We enjoyed sitting by the lake in the Adirondack Chairs and talking until sunset, swimming off the dock and we had a few great BBQs! Beds were comfortable, kitchen was all functional and we had no complaints. I would recommend this home to anyone that wants to have a great Lake George experience and appreciates the traditions and history of the area,
