Attractive 17th century Cotswold dairy with suntrap walled garden

Bedrooms 1
Space 387 sq. ft.
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 3 - 5 nights

About the property

1 bedroom, twin beds, sleeps 2, 1 bathroom

Dairy Cottage, the conversion of a 17th century dairy, looks out onto a walled herb garden which gets the evening sun. It has been recently renovated and has a contemporary but comfortable feel - there is a fantastically well-equipped kitchen and hopefully your every need has been catered for! It is tucked away in the centre of Churchill, a small, friendly village with an excellent pub/restaurant so good food is available within walking distance, while the renowned Daylesford Organic Farm Shop and Restaurant is only five minutes drive away. Lying midway between Stow-on-the-Wold and Chipping Norton, Churchill is perfectly placed for Cheltenham, Stratford, Oxford, Bicester Village and the Cotswolds, so there is an excellent choice of beautiful walks, good shopping and cultural trips.

Welcome to Dairy Cottage: There are always fresh flowers arranged for your arrival - and a hamper containing a bottle of wine, chocolates, biscuits and tea/coffee/milk/sugar so that you can immediately relax after your journey.

About Janie Hextall

We have lived here for most of our married life - and are very happy that we have recently become grandparents!

Janie Hextall purchased this cottage in 1989

Why Janie Hextall chose Churchill

We love everything about the village of Churchill - friendly, supportive and lots going on. Also very proud that we live in the birthplace of Warren Hastings, the first governor-general of India. Amaxingly William Smith - the Father of English Geology - was also born in Churchill - it is the bicentenary of publication of his famous map this year (2015) - the first geological map of England and Wales, and we have a special exhibition in the Heritage Centre in the village.

What makes this cottage unique

Lovely Cotswold village within easy reach of everything you could want - shopping, historic houses, beautiful walks. Tucked away and private but also within walking distance of excellent pub/restaurant.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Here are some comments from our visitors book:

'A very enjoyable stay, here in the Cotswolds, made even better by the comfort of this beautifully appointed cottage. Among the many 'extras' not expected my favourite must be the heated towel rail, and BIG bath towels!!'

'Fantastic holiday in a lovely part of the country and a lovely cottage - what more could you ask for. Hope to be back sometime.'

'From our brown , sunburnt land to this tranquil green paradise . . . thank you for the goodies, the peace, the comfort . . . a special time.'

Dit is een leuke cottage, vanuit deze plaats kun je heel veel dingen in dit deel van Engeland bezoeken. Gastvrije ontvangst en een rustiek dorp.
