The tank was restored in 1975 and is now displayed on the outskirts of the town.
If that wasn't enough our region is steeped in history and holds delights for all ages and interests. Mont Ormel memorial is just a 10 minute drive away. If military history isn't your forte, then Bayeux with its magnificent hand worked tapestry, majestic Cathedral and many restaurants, is less than an hour away.
Monet’s House and Gardens at Giverney, though a little further away, are a memorable way to spend a day. And Honfleur, with its charming fishing port, surrounded by first class seafood restaurants, is very close. A delicious lunch followed by a stroll around the art galleries, or a sight of artists painting in the streets is all part of the pleasure.
You can also experience the hot spa baths of Bagnoles de l’Orne in picturesque Swiss Normandy. Visit the Château of Falaise , childhood home of William the Conqueror and the beautiful Château of Vendeuvre with landscaped water gardens and the largest collection of miniature furniture in the world.
Tony and Pat are the new owners of our beutiful estate Les Patis
Tony Kirby purchased this cottage in 2015
Les Patis is set in the beautiful garden of France, the Pays d' Auge with its rolling pastures and orchards. The region is steeped in history. The Bayeux Tapestry, the port of Honfleur and the Beaches of the D Day Landings are all nearby.
Close to channel ports, quiet with very good local facilities, excellent on site facilities, extreamly comfortable accomodation.
We had a fantastic time during our weeks stay. we were a party of 19 so we occupied all 4 cottages. The facilities are great and staying in 4 separate cottages we all had our own space as well. Kids loved the pool, tennis court and the wide open places to play. The properties are furnished to a high standard and very clean. Host are welcoming and nothing is a problem to them. We had some fantastic days out and about the local area, but what made it for us was the peaceful surroundings and wonderful gardens. a great place to spend a holiday. We WILL be returning and look forward to some more great evening spend round the pool barbecuing!!!!!
Tony & Pat had only taken over the properties for 8 weeks and couldn't do enough for us. Its a lovely place in an ideal location only an hour or so from Le Harve so ideal for day trips out but nice to return to the seclusion of Les Patis. Fishing by the lake listening to nature you couldn't be further from the hustle and bustle of normal life. Very relaxing. I can highly recommend it. We cant wait to go back.
Normandy is a beautiful region of France, easily accessible from the United Kingdom and yet a world away. It is a verdant land of delightful scenery, little colombage cottages nestling in the hills, friendly local people and of course delicious food and wine. The pace of life is slow, long leisurely lunches under a shady tree or in a little restaurant are an integral part of the day. The cheeses of the region are legendary and are named after many of our local towns Livarot, Pont L’Eveque. The village of Camembert is just 2 miles away. The North Coast with its golden sands and elegant seafront promenade is a pleasant drive away.
