The Koninginneweg, literally meaning the Queens Avenue, is one of Amsterdam’s most picturesque avenues. Here, situated on the third floor, this luxurious 70 m2 apartment offers a nice street view from the living room.
The stylishly furnished apartment mostly has a parquet floor. Except for in the luxurious bathroom, where there is a stone floor. The apartment offers sleeping space for up to four persons and is ideal for families or small groups of friends. There is a separate two person sleeping room and a very comfortable two person sleeping couch in the living. The apartment provides everything you need as a guest.
The living room has a spacious sitting as well as dining corner. Perfect for extra friends to come over, watch a late night movie or to quietly finish some work. The very well equipped kitchen neighbours the living room.
The spacious sleeping room offers a big double bed and the adjacent bathroom all the extra comfort you would expect in this region of Amsterdam. Also, characteristically, the sleeping room has a typical Amsterdam balcony.
The kitchen is fully equipped (oven, microwave, dishwasher, a good furnace) and includes a nice coffee corner to read your newspaper. The living offers a big-screen television. There are two toilets, two sinks, a comfortable shower and a bathtub. The apartment offers plenty of closet space and WIFI is provided as well. This typical old Amsterdam house has no elevator and shares the stairwell. It takes three stairs to reach the apartment, but the owner will help you bring your luggage to the apartment
This is a very nice apartment - big living/dining room with a very comfortable couch that turns into a bed. The bedroom is also good sized with a comfortable bed. We didn't use the kitchen, but it appeared well-stocked with dishes and cooking equipment. There is also a balcony overlooking the back. The neighborhood is very nice. It is outside the center so nice and quiet, but is still quite convenient. There are a couple of tram lines that stop a few blocks away and it's about a 15 minute walk to the museum quarter and the Concertgebow. Vondelpark is just a block or two away and is well worth walking through. The one thing to be aware of is that the apartment is up extremely steep and narrow stairs. Do not bring a big suitcase if you are renting this apartment!
The ‘Queens Avenue’ is located at the heart of old Amsterdam’s southern district. Located next to the distinctive Vondelpark, this area knows many fine restaurants, trendy bars and interesting shopping streets, such as the Cornelis Schuijtstraat.
The area also harbours many cultural highlights, including the Concertgebouw, Van Goghmuseum, Rijksmuseum and Stedelijk museum. Interesting nearby bars and restaurants (you may need to make reservations) are Mech, Bond, De Joffers, Pain Quotidien and Van Dam. The old south district is easy to reach by public transport and is regarded as one of the safest areas in Amsterdam.
The Old-South area is next to the centre of amsterdam, the city center is easy to reach within 10 minutes by tram, the tram stops 300 mtr from the appartement.
