Amazing house with lovely views
We had the most lovely stay at Cedar House. The house in itself was above expectation, not only was it spacious, open plan and built to high spec, it was also the little details (welcome hamper, kitchen and toilet essentials, a detailed user manual, cook books etc) that made our stay special. The views from the house were stunning. The location is good, close to Lyme Regis and Axminster and other places worthwhile visiting in Devon and Dorset. In addition to all of this, the owner went out of her way to locate and personal post to us a piece of jewellery we had mistakenly placed in the bin before we left. Thank you so much!

A proper holiday
The property was exactly as advertised. We had a very comfortable stay and appreciated the extra touches to welcome us and to make us feel at home. Useful was the information on things to do in the region. Thank you Sarah, we had an excellent family holiday!

All-round fab!
The Cedar House was a splendid place for our family gathering. Lovely bedrooms and a large open-plan downstairs were all ideal, and each excellently equipped. The stunning views out over the countryside gave an added dimension to our stay, as did the beach hut. In short - highly recommended.

Uplyme Cedar House
This was an ideal property to stay in for our grown up family. Very modern with plenty of space. The views from the rear of the property are amazing and it was a pleasure to wake up everyday to the picture perfect view of the valley below. Every thing that you would need has been thought of and there are some really nice quality touches around the property.

About the host

Host profile image
My name is Sarah. My family have used the house on and off for holidays over the last 8 years, and we have made the house very well-appointed because that's how we would want it. My husband is from the area originally and he has included some insider tips in our guide in the house.

Why they chose this property

The hillside location gives beautiful views across the village and the rolling hills of the Lym Valley. The Cedar House also has easy access to the beaches and activities within bustling Lyme Regis. The wider area is stunning and is completely unspoilt, with lovely walks, vineyards (if you'd like us to organise you a private tour of a fab vineyard let us know at the point of booking), pubs and top-class restaurants.

One popular bonus of booking The Cedar House is that guests get exclusive use of our vintage beach hut on the seafront in Lyme Regis. We bought this a few years ago - they come up for sale very very rarely. We had to offer a reward to find one ! But the beach hut will make your visit - it's a great spot to open a bottle of chilled wine and watch the waves gently lap the shoreline.

There is ample parking for 3 cars in our private driveway, and further good public parking a one minute walk up the lane.

What makes this property unique

The house has been designed by the award-winning architect Annie Martin, with a very high attention to detail for all the finishes. Literally, no expense was spared as we use the house ourselves too and have spent far too many days in poor holiday lets.

Whilst the design is striking, the house and garden is lovely and comfortable in any season. It's cosy in the colder months with a beautiful user-friendly log burner, and relaxing in the Spring and Summer when you can open up the huge sliding doors and let the outdoor views spill in to the house.
