The Sparrow apartment is on the 6th floor of a new apartment building in Reykjavik centre. From the spacious and brand new apartment there is a great view ower the city and to the sea. In the Sparrow there is a bedroom with a double bed, a bathroom with shower, a living and dining room. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, microwave and utensils. There are also a washing machine and dryer. Last but not least a 25 squere metre roof top terrace. Private parking in the garage is included.

This apartment is special because of the amazing view and the 25 m2 roof top terrace. These are qualities very rare to find. It is also very well located and generous in size for two persons, 70 m2.

I can't imagine finding a better place to stay in Reykjavik!!!

This was our (wife and I) first visit to Iceland and we didn't really know what to expect. We have rented rooms, condos, apartments, and villas in many countries and often are at least a little disappointed in that the properties never seem to live up to the photos and descriptions.

This was absolutely NOT the case with this apartment. The place is decorated tastefully, the furniture is more than acceptable, the bed comfortable, etc. I really cannot find one thing to say negatively about this location other than that construction is going on all around it and sometimes it is a little hard to get to the garage but that is certainly not the owner or realtor's fault and the apartment is so well made that the only time you hear the sounds of construction is when you open a window or outside door.

The apartment is spacious enough for a couple to be very comfortable, the shower is incredible, and the underground parking is very handy (although the elevator doesn't go all the way to the very bottom, you still have to walk up one short flight of stairs which could be an issue if you have a disability).

The location is also great, right off of one of the main streets and near to many restaurants, the Grey Line city bus tour stop is a couple of blocks away, and there is a pizza place a couple of doors down and a "convenience store" in the bottom floor of the building where you can grab snacks and drinks.

I was a little under the weather when we arrived in Iceland on a 5 AM flight and the relator managed to get the cleaning crew to get this apartment cleaned and allowed us to check in an hour or so early which was much appreciated.

The washer and dryer are located in the bathroom but there is still a lot of space in there, we never felt cramped at all!

The view looks out over Reykjavik and the harbor and the deck is huge!

I don't mean to gush but I can't think of any property we have ever rented which exceeds this one and only one or two which even approached it.

We would have absolutely no qualms about recommending this place again and will do our best to rent it again when we visit Iceland again, probably next year (you can't see anywhere near everything in a week).

As to the amenities, the bed, while different than what we're used to, was extremely comfortable and roomy and the kitchen was well equipped. We've never stayed in a place that used radiators for heating but we quickly got the hang of them and they worked fantastic.

Best place in Reykjavic!

I agree with all the other great reviews! Spacious, clean, modern, well supplied, well located, great views. The Centerhotel Midgardur is right in front of the apartment and is great for bus pickups. Bjorn is easy to work with. He even went out of his way to let us store our luggage for a few hours after checkout. Thank you, Bjorn!

This apartment was just what we wanted, our own space in downtown Reykjavik. Proximity to major sights was great. Bjorn's instructions and maps were very helpful and accurate. We will definitely stay again the next time we are in town.

Live in style, like a local with splendid views

Our first trip to Iceland was undoubtedly heightened by staying in this lovely, well-located apartment. Spacious, modern, quiet, and clean, it was a perfect home away from home. The furnishings were made up of a mixture of Ikea products and quirky, personal touches such as paintings, wooden ship models, and interesting books. The kitchen was better than we expected – for some reason, we thought there would only be a microwave, but it turned out that we had that, plus a hob and proper oven. This made a real difference to our trip, as eating out in Iceland is prohibitively expensive. It was nice to return home after our many tours and outings and have a bowl of soup, toast, take-away pizza heated in the oven, salad, and other simple meals. There are a couple of nearby grocery stores which stocked pretty much everything we needed, and the Sandholt bakery on nearby Laugavegur Street provides the best sourdough bread and pastries this side of Paris.

We particularly appreciated the two balconies that afford views over the city, including the magnificent cathedral and the harbour. We visited in winter, and it was wonderful to walk out onto the snowy roof to look at stars, and I would imagine in the summer months it would be a great place to lounge or eat meals.

The bathroom was spacious and includes a washing machine and dryer, which came in handy after our clothes got soaked on a (successful) late-night hunt for the Northern Lights. Heated floors and towel racks, powerful shower, and large sink and mirror, all a plus.

The bedroom contained ample storage space, windows with excellent views, and a bed more comfortable than my own at home. We felt that the heating was more than enough, and for the week we were there, we turned the radiators off and opened the window a crack.

The location of the apartment is a real bonus. It is very near the Center Hotel Midgardur, which served as our collection and dropping-off point for many coach journeys, including the ones to and from the airport, as well as tours to the Blue Lagoon, the Golden Circle, and the South Coast. All the tour companies take you door to door: ultra-convenient. The main shopping street, Laugavegur, is just a short, straight walk from the apartment, and, although there is a main bus station right on the corner near the apartment building, we never once had to use public transport to get to any of the city sights we wanted to visit. Would I stay here next time? You bet.

Excellent apartment in superb location

The property is in a superb location and is 2 minutes walk from all the shops and restaurants.

It is very well equipped and has everything you need. It is also extremely clean and tidy.

The underground parking is a massive bonus.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would have no hesitation in recommending the property.
