This was my first holiday in North Wales for 40 years and the first for my family, we all had a great time, with many varied days out exploring what the North Wales had to offer had to offer, North Wales has many breath taking views. The house location being rural may not suit everyone, but for us the absolute silence, the views, the character of the house, made it awesome.we do hope to return soon.
Really enjoyed our stay here over the two weeks and from the moment you step in it had the WOW factor, very high standard well-furnished and beautifully decorated, we felt at home straight Very well positioned in Snowdonia with amazing views from all the bedrooms. it's a shame we can't wake up to that every morning. The house was clean, very well equipped wifi / Smart TV. I would highly recommend this property to everyone couples and family's and even groups. The only drawback was the property would do with a washing machine.
What a wonderful two week break we had at Ty Mawr (despite the weather!) - remote location set in a spectacular surroundings. No noise, no traffic with superb walks starting after taking no more than 35 steps from the front door! Beautifully appointed house with four spacious bedrooms and two reception room with TV in both. Lashings of hot water for 6 adults to have a good shower not a problem. The only two things missing to get a 5/5 rating is the absence of a washing machine and dishwasher, but the lack of these two amenities are easily forgiven for everything else!
We had a great time staying at Ty Mawr. We were a party of 7, with one toddler - otherwise in our twenties and thirties and keen on trail running and mountain biking. From the house to the Coed y Brenin centre it is about four miles on forestry roads, or about 3 miles if you are running and happy to use footpaths that go cross country.
The house is big enough for 8 and the bedrooms are especially nice and of good size. Downstairs the rooms aren't enormous, but if you don't mind being cosy then everyone will fit. The wood burning stove is great, particularly after a day of being outside in the elements,
The couple of niggles we had were around the heating system - it's an air pump system and so while environmentally friendly and efficient, it's also a little fragile! Also, the dining table was a bit of a squash for all of the adults to get round, although we believe this is being sorted out.
We would definitely go back - big, comfy house in a great location for enjoying the great Welsh outdoors.
