Very clean and comfortable. Quiet except for the sound of sheep.

It was a great location and a nice place to relax. You have to drive anywhere you might want to go but there are so many options of things to do around the area.

Sonny days in Duror

  • 4 of 5

We really liked our first trip to SCO as we had perfect sunny weather and no midges.

Cottage was clean and lovely (esp birds in Garden), host very kind, helpful and reliable.

However there were some minor things that caused us to vote 4-stars (instead of 5): cottage is directly located at main road; kitchen equipment could be better (e.g. just 6 of each max); noisy fan in bathroom was running long time (combined with light switch) and finally temperature in corridore was too hot (min 25 degrees C) permanently (due to ensure hot water -> that worked very well).

Overall: recommended.

Good location to explore Glencoe (10 min), Fort William (25 min) or Oban (35 min).

Excelent clean and modern house with everything you need...

  • 5 of 5

We stayed with our family 2 kids (4 yr & 11 yr) in this house. It was very quiet and the view outside was nice.

The house is close to Fort William, Oban some nice places.

We did travel to Lochness, Invernes (hop-on-hop-off bus) there is a great titanic museum there, kids loved it. We also did cross with the corran ferry very close to cross the lake and travel to the Ardnamurchan Lighthouse great view at the atlantic, then we drove to sanna where you can find a small nice quiet beach kids had fun.

At Glencoe Village you can walk around a little lake, great place for a picknic.

In Fort William you can travel with the Jacobite steam train, when you are early at the trainstation around 8 you can get tickets, for that day, the only have limited tickets.

In Oban we did see the Oban Games (Highland) games and went to the Sealife park.

We did explore more you will not be dissapointed.

Last, there are many good restaurants, some are hidden so look around for them...

Duror, Appin. Is the ideal location to explore all the Scottish Highlands has to offer. Ben View has the added bonus of having direct access to the Sustrans Cycle Route 78, The Caledonia Way - Oban to Fort William. This is not only great for cyclists, but an ideal for families with young children or someone looking for a more gentle walk. As it offers well maintained path on a relatively flat route through the magnificent country side.
