Tuscany, Maremma above all, represents My Soul Nest: the cradle where I used and use to shield, now and then, taking a breath from the stressing paces of my life.
Here I meet and live my passions: enchanting atmospheres, my lovely horses, a “sweet” wild untouched nature and surrounding, the History end the Arts and again swimming in cristal clear waters in the most beautiful creeks and coves of the Mediterranean Sea, the Italian sun of August and my book under my Orange tree in the garden.
The friends, though-rough-gentle people, nailed to their land who love sharing the best of food, superior wines and popular after the hard work with land and cattles!
I arrived at Montemassi 30 years ago, riding a motorcycle, a little bit like Guidoriccio da Fogliano in the famous 13th c. painting by Simone Martini, and could not stop coming and coming over again, as often as I could.
I was fascinated by the Medieval atmosphere, the mild climate, by the number of different things to do and adventures to live one can enjoy in such a magic place.
I ended up to buy a house here, right in the center of the Medieval village, which I passionately restored.
Renting part of my property is a way to share my sensations, a way to let people, who love unique experiences away from mass tourism and routine, explore this very special world.
Enjoy a holiday away from mass tourism, in contact with history, nature and full relax in a fairy atmosphere.
deally located, my independent studio lies exactly in the centre of Montemassi, the Medieval hamlet painted in the famous fresco of 1330 by Simone Martini, entitled “Gudoriccio da Fogliano conquering Montemassi” and preserved in the town hall of Siena.
This picturesque village is in the heart of the most stunning area of Tuscan Maremma, in a privileged position, 300 meters height above sea level, mild climate all over the year, only few kilometres far from important art Cities, archeological sites, Natural Parks and the crystal sea of the Tuscan archipelago, which you can see from the house. Out of the gate you can choose among hiking, horse trekking, bike itineraries in the middle of a splendid nature. Wine-touring and Gourmet tastings are just few kilometers drive.
The studio, in the 13th century house, is finely restored, with all original materials, stone, bricks, wooden beams. Nicely decorated with a cocktail of antiques and design accessories.
Fully equipped Kitchenette, WiFI, books. A romantic accommodation for two.
Courtesy breakfast and linen included.
Breakfasts and Aperitfs in the garden on demand.
We provide any kind of assistance during your stay, to make you enjoy your holiday at best.
Montemassi is surrounded by a wild and unspoilt landscape, a real paradise for trekking lovers and for those who enjoy riding horses or bikes.
Other environmental heritage lies in the surroundings:
Uccellina Nature Reserve, Monterotondo Geothermal Park, Amiata, just to mention a few.
Art Cities: Massa Marittima, Siena, PIenza, Pitigliano….
Archeology: Etruscan sites: Roselle, Populonia, Vetulonia
Wine-touring and shopping? the famous Wine Cathedrals are just few kilometers drive: namely Cellars in important vineyards designed by famous architectures, such as Frassinello fortress by Renzo Piano, Petra by Mario Botta, Le Mortelle by Antinori etc… . Everywhere you can taste the excellent Mediterranean cuisine, inspired by the olive oil and the sheep milk cheeses. From mushrooms and truffles to fowl and fish, many are the restaurants and the agritourisms around the area. And then you can relax to the spa: Petriolo, Saturnia, Sorano or you can have a swim in the Accesa lake, which is mysterious, fairy-like and inexplicably turquoise. You just have to decide on how to spend an unforgettable holiday.
