We stayed for 2 weeks with our daughters and granddaughters. The house is pleasant with air-conditioning and mossie killers provided. The grounds were safe enough for the little ones to go off looking for lizards and picking lemons. We all loved the pool, the nearby beaches and the area is not too touristy. The owner was most helpful, with advice and translation to hand when we needed it. We had a lovely time.

Superb! A beautiful place with great facilities and lovely welcoming owners

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed at Villa Bombalina in July 2017. There were 7 of us, a mixture of adults, and teenagers and we all had the best time. The villa is set in the middle of olives groves a short drive from San Vito dei Normanni. It has 3 good sized and very comfortable bedrooms with aircon and is spotlessly clean. There are lots of different areas outside to relax in including a BBQing area, swimming pool and patio, a gazebo, and an area with a swinging chair and hammock to relax in the shade. The owners Lina and Ray couldn't have been more lovely, helpful and welcoming. We arrived late at night on the first day to be greeted by an excellent meal that Lina had prepared and a fully stocked kitchen so that we didn't need to worry about breakfast the next morning.

You will need a car but there were lots of beautiful beaches (the nearest is 20 minutes away) and many really interesting places to visit well within an hours drive. Lina and Ray gave us some great suggestions for places to eat out. We felt we had complete privacy at all times but they were available at all times if we had any queries. We would definitely recommend this lovely villa and would love to visit again. Thank you Lina and Ray !

Owner's Response: It was a pleasure having this lovely family visit with us, we were sorry to see them leave. It was so nice to see that they explored and enjoyed a lot of what the lovely Puglian region has to offer, as well as find time to chill out and relax in Villa Bombolina. Would love to see them back for another visit.

Very relaxing and enjoyable

  • 5 of 5

The villa has a large lovely garden just outside the local town which is ideally located for seeing Puglia. I chose the villa because two different families I know had been here and loved it. I can see why! Many thanks Ray and Lina.

Nice quiet location in a well equipped villa.

  • 5 of 5

Off the beaten track, so a car is essential. Very close to the excellent beaches of the national park that we visited on many occasions during our stay.

Great for families with the pool and substantial grounds. Sleeping quarters are spacious and comfortable with good air conditioning units that were vital during our stay in high summer.

Enjoyed several pleasant BBQ's under the stars amongst the Olive Groves.

Great base for exploring Puglia.

Owners are very warm and friendly with no request to much trouble.

A wonderful villa in lovely surroundings

  • 5 of 5

A lovely welcome greeted us from Lena. She cooked us a meal even though we didn't arrive until 11pm. Lots of food and drink had been left for us. The villa and gardens are lovely with lots of places to sit and eat. We enjoyed a trip to the caves at Castellana, stopping off to see the white houses at Alberobello.

Magnifique!

  • 5 of 5

Owner's Response: Isabelle, Many Thanks for your review, we really enjoyed your company and having you at Villa Bombolina. We try hard to offer a personalised niche service and very pleased that it was appreciated by you. We really hope you return soon. ------- Guest response translated in English:- We spent 15 wonderful days in this property, Lina and Ray were fully described in the announcement. We have not suffered from the heat, and the house has everything you need. The house was very clean and well maintained and the garden (fabulous!) And the pool, so valuable to refresh! But what we really want to emphasize is the warm welcome and attention we have worn the owners, including Lina, we even struggled to leave at the end of the stay. She became our friend! We urge rent to those who want to discover this part of Puglia and taste the culinary delights, "maritime" (the Ionian Sea is exceptional!), Architectural (Cisternino, Alberobello, Lecce ...) in the region, not to mention the olive groves of sight! And of course we will return, even if it is away from home! Thanks to you two!

Far from the madding crowd...

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a 10 day stay at Villa Bombolina. The property is located in an olive garden featuring also fig and other trees (we didn't have to buy lemons as we had the lemon tree there :)), with several different spots meant for relaxation, eating or playing. It was clean and practical but most of all very tranquil (if you exclude the ciccadas, which you tend to get used to anyway).

The description on the site matched what we found in reality and more.

One of the best features of the place are ... its owners, wonderful people which really did their best to accommodate our needs. For example, we mentioned to Lina that a microwave oven might be useful - the next day a brand new one was there, plugged in and ready to be used. The meal Lina cooked for us was excellent and the info provided regarding the area invaluable.

The pool was on the small side but, on the other hand there were lots of inflatables to play with.

The place is very appropriate if you want to immerse yourself in the local (rural) atmosphere and a good starting point for exploring the greater area (Ostuni, Brindisi, Lecce, Alberobello, Cisternino etc.).

All in all it was a lovely experience and Villa Bombolina provided us with a place which, while vacationing in Puglia, we called home!

Owner's Response: We really enjoyed having Irene and family stay over. It was good, after 4 years having guests from Romania for the first time !! . Thanks Irene for your warm comments. We pride ourselves on customer service, and providing a tranquil family holiday experience and take on board the comments about our 7 metre pool and have plans afoot to install a larger pool, subject to all permissions. Please stay posted and look at our latest pictures.

Puglia is in the "Heel of the Boot" of Italy. It is a wonderful place to explore for great food and wine, guaranteed sun and beautiful beaches. The summers are lovely and hot. There are wondefrul small towns such as Ostuni known as the "White City" with its historic centre and great restaurants; Alberbello, a "trulli" monument town and larger cities such as Brindisi, where you can shop and stroll or eat along the waterfront or the great Baroque architecture of Lecce. Torre Guaceto (about 10 minutes away) is a nature reserve and its long beach with white sand and crystal clear waters is great for swimming and tanning. Further afield, this little known region is awash with rolling vineyards, midieval villages and craggy shorelines, visit wine-making hilltop towns and soak up la dolce vita in sun-dappled piazzas. The nearest airport is at Brindisi about 15 minutes drive away and BARI about an hour away. There are train services to/from Brindisi from Rome and the North. There are ferries from Brindisi to Alabania, Greece and Turkey.
