Photos and Description of this 4 bedroom holiday home in Strathtay

This handsome stone-built home in the conservation village of Grandtully is the ideal self-catering accommodation for families and friends, who are looking for the right mixture of relaxation and outdoor adventure.

With our dedicated activity room -playroom for children and pool table- and upstairs sitting room, we provide areas in the house for the big and small ones to relax, play and unwind. The house has 4 bedrooms (1 double and 3 family rooms). When you share a room with your children (under 6 years) they stay free of charge. We can provide a travel cot on request.

You are travelling with fewer people? No problem, we offer lower rates when you use less bedrooms. Please contact us for a quote.

Great Location

  • 3 of 5

The Grandtully Bridge House was very conveniently located for roaming around the area. Pitlochry, Aberfeldy, and Dunkeld are all easy drives away and are beautiful towns to visit with lots of shopping and eating options. We were excited to try out the Highland Chocolatier's goods, but we spent our days away from the house, and so, unfortunately, the chocolate shop was never open during the times we were there. Hilarie stopped in upon our arrival and was helpful with directions and things to see in the area. We found her to be very personable and helpful in person. Prior to our arrival, however, there was not much communication, and it wasn't until the day before our arrival that we received a brief email telling us that 1 single and 2 double rooms had been made up and the other bedrooms had been closed off on the assumption that our party was made up of 2 couples and a single, even though we had rented the entire house. This was rectified after we gave our party's specifics. While the house and gardens are gorgeous on the outside, and very spacious and convenient, our only "complaint" is that the interior on-line photos were too well staged, leaving us disappointed in the reality. Only two of the bedrooms are shown in the photos, and they depict bedding that did not appear for our stay. All of the beds that we used were made up with spreads that only covered the tops of the beds. We're familiar with the European duvet concept but found the small covers difficult to sleep under comfortably. Household items such as toilet paper, while present, were minimal (one partially used roll per bathroom --we had to buy our own since we were there 5 days), and the bath towels were clean but old and mismatched with only one given per person. Also, while not directly connected to the house, there was some kind of party going on across the road for two nights straight (at the rafting operation next to the Inn on the Tay maybe?), and they played LOUD music until about 3 AM. Hopefully, that was a one-time occurrence and would not be an issue for other travelers. While we truly enjoyed our stay at the edge of the Scottish highlands, the Grandtully Bridge House could use a little sprucing up before we'd give it more stars.

Owner's Response: Hello, thanks for your honest review. We appreciate this. We are sorry that there was a bit of a confusion regarding the beds. We'll make sure, we contact our guests earlier in the future to avoid disappointment. I can promise you, that there are usually no parties across the road. This rafting event is only once a year. We are glad you enjoyed your stay in the Scottish Highlands. All the best.

très bonne

  • 5 of 5

Merci Hilarie. Anne G
