About Kenneth A. Morris

Hello, Happy Family Picture---traveling somewhere????. Graduated from Saugtuck High School in 1981. Family has owned the house since 1978. Bought the house from my mom 20 years back or so, planned to live there, but life got in the way!!! Get back when we can, our loss is your gain!

Kenneth A. Morris purchased this house in 1978

Why Kenneth A. Morris chose Saugatuck

It is the house I grew up in, would never let it go... come visit and you will see why!!!

What makes this house unique

Wonderfull old house that overlooks downtown, at least when the leaves are not on the tress. Very enjoyable as you can walk to everything in town, shops, restaurants, bars, etc. Park the car at the house, and forget about it for the rest of your stay. Kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms are all up to date and in good clean condition. Additionally, local management and over site of the property ensures none of the unforeseen problems that can result from long distance owners that may not be fully aware of the day to day situation.

Excellent historic home above the fray in downtown Saugatuck

  • 5 of 5

This rental is a nicely cared for historic home just above the main drag in downtown Saugatuck. You're literally five mins walk from everything - but it won't be as loud as if you were down on the water or off Butler.

The beds and linens are comfortable. Bathrooms are decent given the age of the home. Plenty of space for people to spread out and relax. There is a nice big TV in the living room with a Sonos wifi audio player system that works in the living room and kitchen. There are also several dining areas.

Due to inclement weather, we did not enjoy the outdoor fire pit, grill and patios, but they would have been very nice if it were a bit warmer out. There is also a nice three season room off the living room (sort of a screened in patio).

We brought our two year old son. Overall, the house is pretty kid friendly, with the potential exception of the stairs to the second floor, which are old and steep... then again, most floors with a second floor have stairs and these aren't really any worse than any others.

We met the owner Ken who stopped in to do some work while we were there (e.g. clearing out thousands of leaves which were probably replaced hours later by thousands of additional leaves). He seemed like a very nice guy - made sure we had everything we needed, but otherwise stayed out of the way.

We would stay again. This would be a very nice spot for a larger family or two smaller families or a group of 4-5 adult friends.

Unique, Charming, Clean, Historic

  • 5 of 5

This house has it all. Just a wonderful home. Comfortable ,Clean and full of space, light, art, and charm. We loved everything about it. We were traveling with one person who has difficulty with steps. She was able to stay in the first floor bedroom, and was very comfortable. One caution, the stairway to the second floor is original, from the 1800s and it is creaky. The steps are small for small feet and you need extra caution to navigate. We will stay again. Close to walk to shops and restaurants !

The house and grounds were perfect. Everything you could need for a relaxing time was there.

Our friends from Ireland and we had a terrific time. The house couldn't have been more comfortable or in a better location. We really enjoyed sitting around the fire, dodging acorns, laughing and reminiscing. We plan on making it a tradition!

Owner's Response: We are glad you enjoyed your stay. The squirrels do seem to purposefully take aim with the acorns this time of year!

Great home, walking distance to everything, full of amenities

  • 5 of 5

This property has lots of room to spread out and enjoy. Kitchen is fully stocked with lots of extras so nothing is needed except food and drinks, as the owner states. Screened in porch and outside sitting area are great spaces to relax and enjoy. Beds were very comfortable and the home is very clean. It's right in town so walking distance to all the restaurants and the boardwalk. I would definitely want to rent this home again.
