New furniture, new mattresses, couches, chairs, and a new Gas fireplace in the great room. New HDTVs in every room with DirectTV-Entertainment/Sports package including Sunday NFL channel.

New Photos coming soon as this place is in a deluge and rain all day every day but soon like May 4.

Bayberry Cove is the perfect Chesapeake Bay private retreat for a family vacation or a group of friends and kids to get away from it all. Clean Dogs are welcome.

It is a 5 bedroom (4 bedrooms downstairs and a large sleeping loft bedroom with full bath upstairs) vacation home with large wrap around decks, a 16' x 28' swimming Pool, a large hot-tub, and a pool area safety gate. There are Four Full Bathrooms. Dogs are welcome. Wag more Bark Less.

There are two large 20'x22' bedrooms on the east and west wing of the house with large cathedral ceilings. There is a large master loft bedroom in the original Geodesic dome portion of the house. The main living room area is a great room and the ceilings are 25' high. There is a large 10'x15' dining room with water views and glass windows all around the dining room table.

Bayberry Cove offers Eleven (11.6) acres of private waterfront property nestled along a private creek on the east side of the property (1200 feet of shoreline) running North to South with the south side of the property facing Fishing creek (400 feet of shoreline).

The house is just 150 feet from the water's edge. Most of the property lies alongside a private protected creek (2 to 4 feet deep) which is a tributary of Fishing Creek which is a tributary to the Little Choptank River. Fishing Creek is 12 feet deep at its center. We offer a pier with two boat slips on this protected private creek.

Enjoy breathtaking views of the Little Choptank River & Fishing Creek from our expansive deck and enjoy the massaging jets in our therapeutic spa year round. Peace and quiet are abundant on this property, most of all. We are directly across from McKeil Point which is just north of Madison Bay. The house faces the south.

When you are done swimming in the pool, you can take an outdoor shower and wash the chlorine off your body with hot and cold running water in the outdoor private shower stall before drying off and going in the house.

At night, you can enjoy sitting in the hot tub with a refreshing beverage while you view the brilliant stars and milky way galaxy. There is no light pollution surrounding this property.

Fish and crab from our pier or in the creek and river. We provide 4 single Kayaks for use at your own risk: These items have no rental value or cost or guarantee and are for use at your own risk.

Sleeping arrangements: Four bedrooms have queen beds that sleep two people each or eight total. The fifth bedroom has two bunk beds to sleep four. The living room's couch folds out to a queen bed. There is one roll-away bed that can be put in one of the larger bedrooms or in the living room or loft. (Fifteen people at max can sleep in beds)

The house is 8 miles from Route 50 and less than 6 miles from downtown Cambridge. There are three major grocery stores within a ten minute drive from the house.

We include:

* all pillows, towels, pool towels, and blankets/comforters. (PLEASE BRING LINENS (4xQueen and 4xTwin Sets) WE DO NOT PROVIDE LINENS SO PLEASE PLAN ON BRINGING BED SHEETS AND PILLOW CASES)

* two coffee makers.

* electric turkey roaster, microwave, and toaster.

The nearest neighbor is 1/4 mile away but nevertheless, we do not allow large parties, weddings, wedding receptions, or large family reunions. We like to limit the amount of people to 15 on the property at maximum. Please call us to discuss.

About Scott Ramsey

The house was purchased by R-LCOL Roger Ramsey and his son Scott Ramsey in 2004. Roger is a decorated war hero with a Silver Star, Bronze Star, Combat Air Medal (Bronze Star) and a Legion of Merit. He is buried with honors in Arlington National Cemetary with his loving wife, Diane Ramsey. In life, our comrade in arms, Roger, honored the flag and in death the flag honors him.

His son, Scott, carries on Roger's legacy of honor and respect for everyone.

Scott Ramsey purchased this house in 2004

Why Scott Ramsey chose Chesapeake Bay

Bayberry Cove offers plenty of room to relax and enjoy what nature has to offer. Get out of the house and go outside. Go biking, walking, kayaking, fishing, crabbing, sunning yourself, swimming, hot tubbing, grilling, antiquing, shopping, bar hopping, restaurant hopping, museum going, and go see all the Cambridge and Dorchester county has to offer. This property has no light pollution. See shooting stars at night from the hot tub (recommend turning all house and hot tub lights completely off first!). You will likely see them every clear night. You can see the Milky way in vivid color. It is quiet and peaceful.

Watch Osprey's and Heron fish all day long. You name it - it is in the heart of Chesapeake country. And don't forget to visit Blackwater Refuge - the Nation's largest federal bird sanctuary just fifteen minutes away from our property.

What makes this house unique

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thanks to the Ramseys for allowing us the use of this wonderful house for the week. The house and yard were wonderful and made our family vacations one of the best ever!

The children enjoyed crabbing and fishing off the dock. We all got accustomed to their screams of "we got another one!" as we relaxed in the hot tub and the pool.

The house layout was perfect and the bedrooms were very comfortable. The kitchen was great and contained all the kitchen tools necessary to cook great dinners!

We definitely would like to return to this house next year and enjoy the relaxation as we did this year.

I plan to tell some friends about this home I am sure they would be interested in coming here as well.

Thanks again to the Ramseys for allowing us the use of this home for the week.

PS. Jake and Chelsea "Bark" their thanks as well.

Great Week!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time! Scott, the owner, was quick to respond to any and all questions before and during our stay. Home was exactly as pictured. The weather was extremely hot so fishing wasn't too good - but the home was well air conditioned and kept us cool without any problems! Quiet, plenty of space, well stocked kitchen and assorted towels. We did go into the town of Cambridge on Monday and found many things closed (oh well, back to the pool). If our goal wasn't to do a different state each year we would definitely go back there again!

Overall, the house was grand. It is in a nice secluded area so we were able to go on runs in the middle of the road without even running into cars. The rooms were nice and spatial but the two big ones can get pretty bright if you're trying to sleep in. Everything in the kitchen was easy to find. The deck was a great place for some grilling.

Great for groups

  • 5 of 5

My research group came here for a lab retreat recently and had a great time. The house was spacious and there was plenty to do outdoors. It's in a nice rural area where every passerby would wave and act friendly. The backyard has a good amount of space for soccer, frisbee and other sports. It was nice to be able to get so much out of the grill as well (it helped that it was one of the first nice weekends of the year).

The only negative issue was with the bathroom water. Because the water comes from a well it smells sort of strange. The owner assured us that it was safe to drink but also provided a water cooler in the kitchen.

Overall we were happy with the visit and would recommend this place to others.

Great house and location

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed staying here. The house is great and secluded on a beautiful and quiet part of the Choptank River. We loved using the kayaks/dingy as well as the Fire-pit, hot tub and grill.

The owner was very helpful and checked in with us to make sure everything was OK. Gave us local recommendations and was available during our stay.

Would certainly stay again.

We didn't bring kids, but this is a very kid friendly location (well you do need to supervise due to all the water hazards)

Owner's Response: Mark, thank you for your business and the kind words. You're right - the water is very accessible and younger kids must be supervised or wear life jackets at all times near the water and cover the pool when no adults are around. I'm hoping to build a larger fire pit with cinderblock - a more substantial one that we can burn larger pieces of pine and dead brush;etc. Have a good summer! Cheers! SR

Beautiful Rural Retreat

  • 5 of 5

I went to Bayberry Cove in late March and the property and house were both beautiful! Although we did not have the best weather, the surroundings are pristine and gorgeous. We still braved a trip out onto the Choptank River in the kayaks provided, had an outdoor barbecue, listened to the gentle whir of the windmill (which the little kiddies were fascinated with), and got together as a family in spacious main room. Scott was very helpful when making recommendations for food in the area, which was just charming. I can only imagine how beautiful this property is in the summer and would love to go back!

Owner's Response: Madeline, I know that weekend the weather was horrible and rainy. I'm glad you made the most of it and still had a good time. Please remind me if you want to rent again and I'll try to give you a fair weather discount for what mother nature brought us that weekend. thank you Scott

Family Christmas

  • 5 of 5

Owners of this wonderful property could not have been more welcoming and helpful. We stayed over Christmas week and they were always easy to reach if we had any questions. After getting home I knew I had forgotten my 50 year old rolling pin! I was very upset! Scott was very understanding and went out of his way to return it to me at no expense! Just before it was shipped we left for another trip and Scott agreed to hold it for me until we returned home. He is always prompt with emails and return calls.

Being the "older couple" in the group and very nervous driving in traffic Scott allowed us to come in on a Sunday to avoid heavy traffic. It was a very long trip from NH! We were so thankful!

He was so good to us and made our stay perfect. We would love to stay here again.
