Our party of 9 adults and 4 children stayed at Villa Rosa for 2 weeks. The owner Vincente couldn't have been more helpful from the moment we arrived until the day of our departure. The Villa which sits on on a hill with stunning views is amazing, spacious well equiped and immaculately clean. We had hired three cars and they could all easily be parked at the rear out of the way. Never did we feel with such a large party that we needed anymore space. Vincente kept the pool spotless throughout and we made great use of the BBQ as the local meat is wonderful and fantastic value. The small village of Los Ventorros is a 5 minute stroll away where we often went for lunch in El Molinos or dinner at Table Mountain both highly recommended. The Mountain top village of Comares is approx 2.5 miles away with a small supermarket, tobaconist (also sell his own "vino de casa" rocket fuel) and is very helpful and cafe situated in the small town square. The easy way up is by car but we walked up several times which took roughly 45 minute but well worth it. There are 2 larger supermarkets in Benamagosa 15 min away. Across from the villa is a hill which can be seen in picture number 4. A couple of us climbed this via a path off the road behind Table Mountain Restaurant, amazing views but not a walk for the elderly or really young children. All in all a supers holiday at a superb Villa, thank you Vincente and Rosa.
9 adults and 4 kids stayed at Casa Rosa for 14days and it was bliss! Enjoyed every moment of it. Vicente met us on arrival and was a gentleman. The villa itself is so spacious and had everything and more. the swimming pool was great and the kids loved it. Vicente came every other day to clean it and left it spotless.
We walked round Comares and loved the idylic look of the village also enjoyed watching the mountain climbers when we went for one of the walks around Comares. The general area is beautiful with a nice drive down to Velez-Malaga where we shopped in Lidls and also Eroski.
We had 2 nights out in Tablemountain for dinner, one of those nights included the Flower Power night which was really good fun.
Id really recommend this villa to anyone. A rental car is a must to get from A to B but you will enjoy the different views.
Thanks again Vicente,Rosa and Carl.
Missing this lovely villa already. 3 families stayed in Casa Rosa for 10 nights and loved every minute. the villa was plenty big enough for us all and was extremely comfortable. Rosa & Vincente have thought of everything - it was probably the best equipped villa we have stayed in, particularly the outdoor furniture & the kitchen had everything we needed. The villa was spotless when we got there too.
Vincente met us on arrival with a lovely welcome pack & came and cleaned the pool every other day.
The villa was a short stroll from Los Ventorros which was a friendly hamlet with 2 bar/restaurants and a craft shop. Grown-ups and kids made good use of them both. El Molino had the added attraction of a football and a snooker table and it was safe enough for our kids to take themselves off for a game when they'd had enough playing in the pool.
Loved waking to the sound of the goat bells & enjoying the spectacular views from the garden....
Would highly recommend!!! Thanks guys for such a relaxing holiday...
A beautiful and extremely large spacious villa, set in a prominent position above the tiny hamlet of Los Ventorros , commanding stunning views on all sides of the property, especially looking south toward the coast and the sea in the distance.
On arrival we were delighted to find that the fridge was stocked with milk, water , beer and wine....and the cupboards held some basic provisions that had obviously been purchased in for us. As we arrived relatively late after a long long drive this was a godsend ! we certainly never expected it !
The villa is ideally situated, only a few minutes pleasant stroll from the 2 bar / restaurants in the local village which the villa overlooks.
Vicente the owner lives nearby and comes to clean the pool regularly. He is extremely amienable and friendly. If you need some assistance he will come promptly if you call. He is learning English which he likes to practice when you talk to him.
The villa itself is huge, If you have a large party of people theres certainly room for everyone. It was spotless on arrival and is well provisioned with all modern amenities you could possibly require.
My abiding memory of Casa Rosa is sitting out on the Master bedroom balcony in the mornings, which faces East, watching the amazing sunrises over the mountains.
A beautiful villa that I recommend heartily to everyone.
Beautiful Villa Rosa - we miss you! The views from outside the house were just lovely. It's set up the hill, with, like every mountain villa, a steep drive up to it, giving it a stunning view over the surrounding hills and mountains. The whole place is really well maintained, and like the previous reviewer we had a couple of minor issues which Vicente, one of the owners, fixed immediately (we were still trying to Google Translate what turned out to be "I'm on my way" when he turned up...). The villa is at the edge of the village Los Ventorros, which is a small, exceptionally friendly village with two excellent bar/restaurants and an amazing village shop (sadly closing at the end of summer 2016). Local village Comares has a useful small supermarket, bakery and bar as well as a nice playground.
Villa Rosa is about 45 minutes away from the nearest coast, so it's quite a trek down the mountain if there's kids who want sand, but it's certainly possible to do (we did).
Bedrooms: Main double bedroom with large (king maybe?) double bed, and lovely memory foam mattress. Patio doors open onto a wide terrace at the front. Second double with memory foam mattress and access to small terrace, and loads of spare space. Third and fourth bedroom with 3 single beds and plenty of space. Travel cot available. Additional double room downstairs, which is smaller, but only in the sense that the other rooms are really big. Double sized sofa bed in the sitting room, but that would take up a lot of the shared living space.
Kitchen is really well provisioned - the best we've seen - with a lot of thought that's gone into thinking about what people will need when away from home.
Overall, the sense that we got from Villa Rosa was that the owners have really put themselves into their guests' shoes. Little details like hand soap, dishwashing liquid and dishwasher tablets being provided, a welcome pack of food including not just bread, milk, butter, etc, but pizzas and juice so that we could have a meal the night we arrived. So often we get to a villa and something essential isn't there which is just a nuisance, but this just wasn't the case with Villa Rosa.
If you don't mind being a bit further away from the coast and you want a real taste of stunning, friendly Spain, then this is the place for you :)
Spent three weeks in this lovely villa in the Andalucian hills. The property is accessed via an excellent tarmac road, a couple of miles down from Comares. Very spacious rooms, well equipped and clean with everything one could need. New large screen HDTV and DVD player - take a USB drive with some movies for the cooler nights. Some minor issues quickly dealt with by the local owner, Vicente, who was very helpful. The villa enjoys stunning views in all directions owing to its hilltop position and is not overlooked by any nearby properties. The slightly exposed position means that the villa can be subject to some stiff breezes at times, though that will provide some welcome relief in the summer months. The breezes also seem to deter mosquitoes, which is a bonus.
You're out in the countryside so expect to see some wildlife - horses, donkeys, the neighbours goats, assorted birds of prey soaring on the thermals, maybe a fox roaming the hills. Plus of course the three adorable small cats who will happily adopt you if encouraged!
Ideal get-away-from-it-all location, yet only five minutes stroll to the couple of bar/restaurants in the hamlet of Los Ventorros and five minutes drive to the majestic mountaintop village of Comares. Oh and forty minutes drive to the coastal resort of Torre del Mar, which makes for a nice day trip or occasional "big shop" at Lidl.
Recommended - try a slice of the real Spain. Muchas gracias Vicente, we had a great time.
Comares offers a wide choice of natural outdoors activities, such as mountain climbing, horse riding and it has recently added more walking routes clearly marked and documented, for all ages and level of fitness.
The village local tour is well worth it, just follow the hand made ceramic foot tiles showing you the path to take...
The area is good to spot birds and flowers too.
Try the local cuisine , traditional, you won t be dissapointed!
