Ivydene Cottage is one of the oldest properties in the conservation town of Cromarty, dating back to the late 1700's. The listed terraced townhouse, located in a peaceful square in the original part of the fishing village, was completely refurbished in 2007 and offers comfortable, spacious and modern self-catering accommodation in an idyllic location.
The cottage is a short walk from the shops, local eateries and inns in Cromarty and less than a two minute walk to the beach. Situated at the tip of the Black Isle, Cromarty enjoys a favourable micro-climate and there are a wide range of activities and attractions on offer in the area such as clean sandy beaches, quiet roads for cycling, boat tours, sea angling, golfing, and coastal and countryside walks. Cromarty is also an excellent base for touring the Highlands, with John o'Groats to the north, Loch Ness to the south, and Gairloch and the rugged West Highlands to the west.

There is an enclosed gravelled area at the back of the cottage with a picnic table that seats eight. There is parking space for two cars directly outside the cottage.
All bed linen, towels and electricity are included in the price. The holiday home is stocked with a starter supply of kitchen and bathroom supplies and two cots and high chairs are available on request. Up to two small dogs allowed. No smoking is permitted within the holiday home.
Nous avons passé un excellent séjour à Cromarty, charmant petit village avec toutes les commodités (distributeur bancaire, supérette, poste, commerces et restaurants).
Les propriétaires ont été très accueillants et discrets, la maison était vraiment spacieuse, agréable, fonctionnelle et très propre, et bien équipée (juste quelques grosses casseroles et grands bols à prévoir en plus).
La location était bien située, à 30 minutes d'Inverness, et proche de la côte Ouest (splendide), du parc des Cairngorms et de la route du Whisky.
Nous recommandons cette location, vous ne regretterez pas votre choix.
Lovely cottage and very spacious situated in the centre of the village. We where was greated by landlord on arrival who was very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed our stay so much have already booked for next year.
Great spacious house for a week.Spotlessly clean. Very homely with everything we needed except there wasn't a frying pan or a large pot to cook with which is odd as the kitchen is amazingly well equipped. This is a really good house for a family or group of friends.
Top two rooms a challenge if you are a light sleeper as Velux windows with pale blinds so very bright in the summer in Scotland where it hardly gets dark at night! All bedrooms are spacious.
No Wifi or phone reception in the house, but some gadgets picked up an open wifi in the living room which was weak and sporadic.
Address on booking form not the actual address of property. Directions to property on booking form correct. Friendly owner who met us with keys and showed us around the property. No hesitation in recommending staying at Ivydene.
Large cottage ideal for two families with a lovely coastal location. Plenty of facilities within the cottage and it's location was close to shops and pub/restaurants with close proximity to holiday attractions.
Plenty of towels and hot water with use of heating for chilly evenings.
We had a really enjoyable stay in this cottage. Cromarty is a lovely town and the house is really well located, clean and well kept. The cottage is really spacious and the bedrooms are all really good sizes with plenty of room. There were 5 of us but the house can easily accommodate 8 with loads of available space. The shower was also very good, a must after lots of time on the beach!

Follow the A9 north over the Kessock Bridge and turn right to Munlochy (B9161). Drive through Munlochy and turn right onto the A832. Continue on to Cromarty, passing Avoch, Fortrose and Rosemarkie. Drive down into Cromarty and take a left at the second turning. Drive into Allan Square - Ivydene is the second house on the right.
