We are a couple in our early 40s. We got married a couple of years ago and as one of us was working in the North East we both relocated in Saltburn By The Sea when we got married. We lived in Saltburn for about a year and were absolutely gutted to have to move back to London when both our Jobs ended. Luckily we found our little cottage in Loftus, which enabled us to keep coming to this beautiful part of the world. Although Loftus might not be the perfect village, it is the perfect base for holidaying as it is conveniently surrounded with beautiful walks, drives to the coast and nearby touristic places. The village has a supermarket, a butcher, bank, post office and a bakery, perfect for self catering or it is less than 2 mins drive to the Tiger Inn pub , which a lot of our guest gave good feedback on the food.
Why Kev chose Loftus
It was the perfect base for us, We fell in love with the cottage .
What makes this Cottage unique
The cottage is within 5 mins walk to the local Co-op, butcher, bank, post office, bakery & Cafe, It is the perfect base for exploring, Saltburn ( best fish and Chips on the beachfront), Staithes ( Famous for captain cook) Runswick bay, Whitby & Robin Hoods Bay.

Nice little place
Nice little cottage everything you need for a holiday rental good place to explore the area car needed and pub next door but one liked it very much
Excellent cottage, excellent location
As we entered the cottage, the 6 year old said ' wow, this is awesome!' And she was right!! Cosy cottage with everything you could possibly need for a stay. There's not much in Loftus itself but the cottage is close enough to other places.
On our first day we explored Saltburn, then Whitby and Scarborough on our way home. We loved the cottage and hope to return
Hi there Wendy,
We are very happy you had such a lovely stay. A huge thank you for your kind words too.
Very Best Wishes

Lovely break away
The property is lovely and met all of our needs. The welcome pack on arrival was such a nice touch. The cottage is warm and cosy. There were 4 of us - 2 couples and we had plenty of space. We went for a New Years break and it was such a good place to stay - just a short drive to local areas of interest. Kev was more than helpful before we went and offered lots of suggestions for our New Year’s Eve meal. Thanks for a fab stay!
We very much appreciate your very kind words.
Very best wishes
Excellent base for beach holidays
Property has everything that a young family needs, washer for beach towels and WI-FI!!! Cosy cottage feels like home
Thanks Steffie, We really appreciate your kind words. Very best wishes. Kev
Well-appointed cottage in a handy location, great for exploring the Yorkshire coast north of Whitby.
Very nice little cottage, cosy and well-equipped. Loved the decor, and the goodies on arrival were a nice touch.
Loftus itself is nothing special, but with the property being located just of the main road, it was very handy for exploring the coastal area north of Whitby. Saltburn is only a 15 minute drive away, whilst Runswick Bay is about 15 minutes in the other direction - both highly recommended, as are Staithes, Sandsend (best beach ever!) and of course Whitby itself.
All in all, we were very happy with the cottage and thoroughly enjoyed our short break.
We really appreciate your very kind words. Its great that you love the cottage and the area as much as we do.

Dark and cold
Just a personal thing, cottage to dark and low for us, oven and grill you could write your name on the doors so did not use, snail trails on carpet off putting when it was supposed to have been cleaned that morning, but we enjoyed our days out.
Hi there Simon,
I am really sorry you had a bad experience in regards to cleanliness and cold. We have changed our cleaner based on your feedback and truly apologize about the situation you found. In regards to the cold there is central heating and a log fire which you were very free to use.
In regards to the low beams this is part of the period features of the property and was mentioned in the advert. We apologize that you found this an inconvenience.

We are within 5 mins walk to the locat Co-op supermarket, ATM, and there is also a local butcher in the village on the street next to co-op. There is a local bakery opposite the Co-op supermarket and a little coffee shop which sell breakfast next to Co-op.
There is about 3 pubs within less than 5 mins walk to the cottage.
