About this property

Our house is Saorge, pretty medieval village perched in dry stone
purple slate roofs, entirely pedestrian so very quiet (parking at the ends), the Maritime Alps in the valley of the Roya, 10 km of Italy, at 550m altitude in the trees. Access by train possible. (1km from Gare Village)

Monastery of Saorge: former Franciscan convent of the 17th who visit (writing residency and the Centre des Monuments Nationaux) and Romanesque church of 11 °.
Two grocery stores, three restaurants, a mielerie, artisans, cafes and bookstores / newspapers
Saturday market

Walks, hiking and swimming in pristine wilderness river. Canyoning

The village is located 1/2 hour from the beach (Liguria in Italy: Ventimiglia
Bordighera and France Menton 40min / Cap Ferrat), 1 hour from Nice and a half hours
the entrance to the Mercantour National Park (Rock Carvings in the
Valley of Wonders, walks, horses, ropes course, hiking and summits
over 3000m!).

We are at 2:30 of Turin and Genoa.

Pedestrian village so access to the house is a 4-minute walk from

Rue Gambetta, Saorge

This is a genuinely remarkable house, with stunning views across the rooftops of a medieval village towards the mountains. It is close to fascinating archaeological sites and the beaches around Menton are easily accessible. There is also great swimming in a local river. The hosts were incredibly kind and helpful and the house is cool. Visitors should be aware that the house is not appropriate for persons with mobility issues, as it not accessible by car and is located at the top of a steep village, cut into the rock. Our stay was truly memorable and we recommend the house and the region very warmly. All of us hope to return soon.

Exceptionnel!

Séjour très chouette en famille avec ados et pré-ado. Saorge est un village atypique et ça vaut le coup de le découvrir. La maison est très agréable, simple, très propre, faite avec des matériaux nobles et du sur-mesure. La vue de la terrasse est magnifique. On s'y sent bien. Nous avons été chaleureusement accueillis par Mélanie, qui est adorable. Quant à Charlie, pour la rencontrer, il faut le mériter;) en faisant quelques heures de marche pour la rejoindre dans sa montagne! ça vaut le coup, elle y rayonne! Nous avons adoré ces vacances ! Merci à tous!

tussen hemel en aarde

Ons gezin heeft 100% genoten van deze unieke locatie. Letterlijk tussen hemel en aarde ligt de woonst van Charlie. Gerieflijk, alles aanwezig en functioneel. Een ideale plek voor 4 personen die "gewoon" willen instappen in het dagelijkse leven van die plek. We hebben genoten van de rust, van het huis, van de eigenaars, van Saorge zelf en van de omgeving. De relatie en communicatie met de eigenaar verliep hartelijk en vlot. Een echte aanrader !!

Excellent séjour Terrasse sur village très agréable. Maison fraîche.

Maison très agréable. Fraîche avec une terrasse remarquable. Parfait pour adeptes de marché à pied. Balades en montagne et baignades dans les rivières.
