About Jacquie Campbell
We fell in love with the Isle of Wight several years ago and our now family spends as much time there as possible. We have enjoyed creating a home from home in our apartment and hope that you will enjoy it as much as we do.
Jacquie Campbell purchased this Apartment in 2012
Why Jacquie Campbell chose Ventnor
The apartment is full of character and has fantastic views of the sea from several rooms, as well as the beautiful Downs to the opposite aspect, so when you are tired from exploring the island, it is so lovely to be able to relax but still appreciate the stunning area. The large windows also make it wonderfully light. It is great to have a garden area, where outdoor meals or an evening drink can be enjoyed.
What makes this Apartment unique
We have completely renovated the property, retaining the Victorian features but ensuring a high standard of comfort, with new kitchen diner and a shower room separate to the bathroom. The furniture and fittings have been chosen with comfort and style in mind, so we are regularly complemented on our super comfy beds and sofas. The apartment is part of a historic building where Karl Marx spent the last winters of his life.

Lovely spacious and comfortable home, great location!
We were 6 adults and 2 young kids and the apartment was perfect for our needs. The beds were comfortable, the linen and towels were of good quality. The bathrooms and kitchens were clean and modern. The kids loved the toys and books in the living room and there were plenty of books and dvds for us. We found it very peaceful and quiet and barely heard church bells.
We loved the fact that Marx had spent the last winters of his life in this house. The location was fab, 15 mins walk to the beach which takes you through the very pleasant town of Ventnor. We had a lovely meal at the Spyglass Inn. Although it was raining for parts of our trip, we managed to have some great days out to Osbourne house (we happened to have watched Victoria and Abdul the night before!), the Castle, Needles (perhaps not the hightlight), the donkey sanctuary and a fantastic lobster meal in Shanklin followed by a rather muddy though really scenic walk back to Ventnor.
Jacquie and her sister were very friendly and quick to communicate. I highly recommend this property.Thank you both!
Thank you so much for this lovely review. We’re so pleased you had a good time, despite the rain. You certainly made the most of your visit! You were great guests to deal with and we enjoyed having you.
wonderful holiday in Ventnor
Firstly Jacquie has been amazing throughout the whole booking process. Recently took my daughter and 5 of her friends for a holiday in Ventnor before they start University in September. The place is central to all the sites we wanted to visit. The place is spacious and very well equipped and very clean. I highly recommend this accommodation. The Owner is very helpful. Thanks Jacquie.
Lovely spacious flat containing everything needed.
We had a very enjoyable few days in Ventnor and the flat was in a good location. The information provided before our visit was excellent and most helpful. Our party consisted of two grandparents, one daughter and two grandchildren aged 6 and 9 and the facilities in the flat were perfect for us all. One small issue I would like to suggest is that a non slip mat could be put in the shower as one of the children did slip in the shower and this resulted in quite a nasty bruised back. Apart from that I would recommend this accommodation and would book again if returning to Isle of Wight.
Many thanks for your review, and thank you for the suggestion of a mat for the shower. I’m so sorry your grandchild was hurt, and we’ll certainly get a mat to make sure it doesn’t happen again. I’m so glad you had a good time and that everything else was perfect for you.
Lovely spacious flat
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, lots of room and pretty much everything you need to enjoy your stay. Jacquie, and her husband, were brilliant and very quick to respond when we had a minor issue with one of the windows. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
Many thanks for such a lovely review. We're so pleased you had a good time and that everything was fine for you. It was a pleasure to have you as our guests.
Lovely flat in a good location
We stayed here for a long weekend and really enjoyed our stay. The flat is in a great location, just a short walk to the seafront. We were a party of 6 adults and there was plenty of space for us. The flat had everything we needed and being on the second floor meant the views were brilliant. Jacquie, the owner, was lovely and provided us with lots of information before our stay so we had no problems accessing the property. Would thoroughly recommend!
Clean and tidy with great views
Owner had great communication and gave lots of info on the island. Apartment was clean and tidy and quiet.
The Isle of Wight is a refreshingly charming place, with breathtakingly beautiful scenery without the crowds and traffic. Whilst it is possible to tour around the island in a day, there is such a variety of picturesque small towns and villages, each with their own character, lovely shops and fabulous restaurants/ cafes, as well as tourist attractions, that it is well worth taking time to linger. The island products include excellent artisan foods and drinks and there are many individual and stylish shops.
Additional pricing information
If guests would like to use the sofa bed for a 7th person, they need to provide their own duvet and sheet. There are enough pillows and towels.
