About Jacquie Campbell
We fell in love with the Isle of Wight several years ago and our now family spends as much time there as possible. We have enjoyed creating a home from home in our apartment and hope that you will enjoy it as much as we do.
Jacquie Campbell purchased this Apartment in 2012
Why Jacquie Campbell chose Ventnor
The apartment is full of character and has fantastic views of the sea from several rooms, as well as the beautiful Downs to the opposite aspect, so when you are tired from exploring the island, it is so lovely to be able to relax but still appreciate the stunning area. The large windows also make it wonderfully light. It is great to have a garden area, where outdoor meals or an evening drink can be enjoyed.
What makes this Apartment unique
We have completely renovated the property, retaining the Victorian features but ensuring a high standard of comfort, with new kitchen diner and a shower room separate to the bathroom. The furniture and fittings have been chosen with comfort and style in mind, so we are regularly complemented on our super comfy beds and sofas. The apartment is part of a historic building where Karl Marx spent the last winters of his life.

Ventnor is fab, nice spot to stop
Jacquie’s communication and sharing of everything Ventnor had to offer was brilliant. We took up her advice and booked dinner at the Smoking Lobster - brilliant meal, best seafood platter we have had. But book!
We were 4 adults and one child. The second double is small, but as just for sleep it is fine. The twin is up a few stairs and long and thin - good for kids. Main double is big and good views.
The flat had all you needed and more. The history of the building was a massive hit with my academic sister and brother in law!
Parking has been mentioned and was an issue. A couple of times we had to do a drive around to find a park, even if a few streets away, we did get one.
Loved our first visit to IoW - and Ventnor too.
Clean, well equipped, spacious and homely
My family of five stayed in the apartment over the August Bank Holiday and we didn't have the best of weather. We made the most of our time by using the information left for us about the local area and the internet to get the most out of the island. We all enjoyed the layout of the flat and the views from the living room in particular. Information regarding the keys, codes etc was very clear and easy to use. I would highly recommend a stay for good location, space, quiet at night and helpful host.
Great for my 3 girls and I. Good location, clean, comfortable, spacious, owners really helpful.
We had a lovely week there. Ventnor is a good base to explore from, great beach and shops. We want to go back!
Lovely location, bags of character
Perched on a hill on the east side of Ventnor, this property is within walking distance of the sea front and the charming village of Bonchurch. There are views of the sea from one side and the downs from the other, so you get a clear sense of your surroundings. The flat is well equipped and five of us (three adults, two teenagers) could fit around the kitchen table to eat. There was plenty of space in the light and airy sitting room and the main double bedroom is large and light. The second double room is snug and the twin bedded room is a bit of a squeeze for two adults. It was handy having two bathrooms (one with bath & loo, the other with shower and loo). We didn't use the garden area, which is quite small, and not easily accessible from a top floor flat. The house is on a hairpin bend on a hill and, although you can't park outside, there's is space t load/unload and we were able to find space for two cars close by every day. However, the biggest selling point is the landlady, Jacquie, who went out of her way to ensure that everything was OK and that we had all the information required for our stay. When we had a problem (key snapped in front door at 10pm) she was only a phone call away and summoned local helpers to fix things within 24 hours, without any fuss. This is our third visit to Ventnor (first in this flat) and we enjoyed our stay. Good value for money.
Clean, large, well equipped. Beautiful views
We had a great time
Plenty of room
Only a short walk into ventnor town
Would definitely stay here again
wonderful holiday in Ventnor
Firstly Jacquie has been amazing throughout the whole booking process. Recently took my daughter and 5 of her friends for a holiday in Ventnor before they start University in September. The place is central to all the sites we wanted to visit. The place is spacious and very well equipped and very clean. I highly recommend this accommodation. The Owner is very helpful. Thanks Jacquie.
The Isle of Wight is a refreshingly charming place, with breathtakingly beautiful scenery without the crowds and traffic. Whilst it is possible to tour around the island in a day, there is such a variety of picturesque small towns and villages, each with their own character, lovely shops and fabulous restaurants/ cafes, as well as tourist attractions, that it is well worth taking time to linger. The island products include excellent artisan foods and drinks and there are many individual and stylish shops.
