Detached Cabin With Loft. Up To 4 Quirky Modern Style Woodland Walk To Beach

Bedrooms 1
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 4 - 7 nights

About the property

Sleeps 4. 1 Bedroom. 1 Shower-room.

The cabin sits in a large mature garden near, but separate from, the owners 'Arts & Crafts' family home. Solidly built, well insulated and has central heating. The cabin is in a woodland setting and has its own courtyard style private garden. Dedicated double bedroom in the loft with luxury Egyptian cotton sheets and duvet covers. Large open plan sitting -eating- kitchen area with french doors to garden. Utility room with sink and washer drier. Double sofa bed downstairs- also with luxury cotton. Smart TV with Netflix, and Blu Ray DVD. Wifi. Modern appliances. Shower room with basin and WC. Iron & board, toaster. Barbecue available; please ask.

Sea Reach has its own parking with dedicated gate into its garden so you can come and go as you please. We have plenty of space so if you wanted to bring any toys, boats and trailers, windsurfers, bikes, or classic cars, I am sure we can accommodate. Please just let us know.

The cliff-top and beach are a 12 min. walk away through woodland and a small heath. Alternatively if you follow the stream through the woods you can walk to the village hardly using any roads. Milford on Sea has a good butcher, 2 grocery shops, a good fish & chip shop and numerous good restaurants, pubs and wine bars. The sailing and fishing harbour of Keyhaven are minutes away by car. From there you can walk or take a ferry to Hurst Castle, an exciting fort built by Henry V111. Keyhaven is an outlier of the New Forest National Park. The main body of it is about 15 mins away by car. Here you have a wonderful open space for all sorts of activities. If you are interested in wildlife then the Forest is a must but you may also see birds, deer, badgers, squirrels and foxes near Sea Reach. If you follow the sea wall from Keyhaven it will take you to the internationally famous sailing centre of Lymington. Here there are two marinas, harbour-masters pontoons and the old Town Quay. Boats galore, river trips, ferry to the Isle of Wight, sea water swimming pool, shopping, eating are all part of this lovely Georgian market town. (Market day Saturday) If you like walking or cycling there plenty of options that start right from the door of Sea Reach. Beaulieu, the home of the National Motor Museum, is about 25 min by car. It is a beautiful village at the top of the navigable section of the Beaulieu River. There is a wonderful walk downstream to the well preserved 18th century shipbuilding village Bucklers Hard.

Sea Reach is no smoking and no pets. Children are welcome but please note that the stairs are steep and open on one side and there is an unprotected bit of landing. It is clear to an adult that there is no reason to go there but a child would see it as a challenge. This is a weekly rental with changeover day on Saturday. We will sometimes consider shorter rentals at short notice but not only within the changeover period. Contact me if you want to discuss.

Fantasic! Will be going back

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here with our two boys (12 and 10) during May half term. The house is cleverly designed so you have everything you need and a lot of space to move around (very comfortable beds!). The area is lovely - short walk or bike ride to the sea and close to the New Forest for wonderful cycling. Rory is very helpful with any questions or help you might need but not at all intrusive. The children were very happy to have fast wi-fi and Netflix. This was one of the nicest holidays we have ever had and we all look forward to going back to Sea Reach soon.

Owner's Response: It was great to have Chris and his family staying in the cabin. They kept busy out and about enjoying the surroundings and we hardly noticed they were here when they were back. And we appreciated that the place was spotless when they left. I hope they come again.

Great place to stay. Clean Bright and Modern in a peaceful location

  • 5 of 5

Had a weeks stay here where really the only thing wrong was the weather. Walks directly from the cabin to the village and sea front without going on roads. Good public transport with bus service and trains to visit New Forest and South Coast. Great amenities in the cabin. Very comfortable bed. Had some milk in the fridge and a bottle of wine on arrival. Nice touches. Felt like a home from home which is all you really need to enjoy your holiday. Seoarated and private from owners home but Rory was also very helpful and only a phone call away. Would stay here again for sure - but hope for a bit better weather.

We've only been away for a few hours and we're already pining

  • 5 of 5

My partner and I booked a 5 night stay over Christmas 2017. I'm not entirely sure why it wasn't booked up already because it's the most idyllic place we've stayed to date.

After a warm welcome from Louise we spent a few hours exploring the various quirky nooks of the cabin. It would comfortably house four but we found it more than ample for two. The cabin, set in a mysterious thicket of forest, is full of little idiosyncrasies that you can wager all have their own story: from the oar that acts as a handrail up the stairs to the attic to the little statues that greet you as you walk up to the gate of the courtyard. The courtyard itself feels serene and private, especially in the early evening with owls echoing their calls through the trees.

For the tech heads among you, the TV is great and the WiFi is pleasingly speedy. For the more culinary minded, the induction hob, incredible microwave cum fan assisted electric oven, impressive set of knives, good selection of pans, enough fridge space and cutlery and crockery aplenty make it a doddle to prepare any dish you might dream up. For the sleepers, a club we all find ourselves in, the double bed in the attic is a brilliant place to recover after a day's exploration.

The bijou town of Milford on Sea is a 15 minute walk from the cabin and has every amenity required for effectively any length of stay. There is also a cavernous wine bar, a selection of classic pubs and a charming café perched on the edge of the beach. Admittedly the beachside is not at its best in the bleak midwinter but we found it to be most calming in the late evening. We won't forget the sea breeze and assorted midnight fishermen any time soon.

Rory and Louise, thank you for making this my most memorable Christmas yet. By a twist of fate, it is also my partner's birthday on Christmas day, so in fact thank you for making this our most memorable Birthmas yet!

Owner's Response: Jason and Amy were perfect guests. They clearly loved the cabin and showed in the way they left the place- spotless. We enjoyed having them to stay and love it when our guests are really enthusiastic about our area. Louise and hope that Jason and Amy can return. Five star guests.

Fabulous place to stay

Just returned from a week's break. Clean, peaceful, comfortable and so tastefully decorated and furnished. Had a lovely week in the cabin. Even saw a small deer in the owners garden and squirrels from our window. Would highly recommend.

Clean and comfortable cabin in a peaceful location

  • 5 of 5

Lovely cabin perfect for a short break in a beautiful area. Enjoyed the walk through the woods to village and wonderful to be so close to the beautiful beach with fantastic views in all directions. The cabin was clean, comfortable and easy to settle in to. A great base from which to explore the new forest and local activities. Thank you Rory, we hope to return one day.

Lovely cottage

The cottage is very clean and comfortable, and the owner Rory is so friendly and helpful. It offered us such a good base to explore the costal towns and New Forest.

Although we are only a mile from the village we have a very rural atmosphere. We are down a dead-end Road with little traffic and is a lovely spot to walk from.
