Clayton Lodge is a new lodge style property set on our family farm. Set in a quiet and tranquil location on the outskirts of a small rural village, the property is one of a handful of lodges built on a meadow. With beautiful views over the surrounding countryside the Lodge is surrounded by nature including our resident barn owl, various wildlife yet only five miles from the spectacular North Norfolk Coast...

Immaculate and exceptionally comfortable
Beautiful cottage with everything a family of 6 could want (including very comfortable proper cot and high chair). Huge rooms, ‘best beds the kids had ever slept in’, detail like a side entrance into utility room for muddy wellies and coats, immaculately clean and comfortable. Convenient for driving to the coast - both Blakeney and Cromer and easy drive to Norwich. Would thoroughly recommend.
Beautiful, spacious lodge in a perfect setting. Spotlessly clean with the most divinely, comfortable beds!! Will definitely be back and would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone.
A lovely peaceful setting, great for families and close to beaches and pretty villages.
We are visiting from New Zealand and often stay in similar lodges with our family. This was easily one of the best places we have stayed as the hosts ensure there are all the things you need. Plenty of towels, tea, coffee, dishwasher tablets, etc. The setting is perfect and it’s so safe for children to roam around outside. Thank you
Exceptional property, with all one could wish for a great stay for our family.
Thoughtfully laid out and very well appointed, in an area with plenty to see. Will recommend to friends and family.
Excellent accommodation, peaceful location
We'd recommend this property without hesitation. Everything internally is clean, new, and of a very good standard. The living space is very large, light, and open, the bedrooms well sized and the bathrooms/showers were pretty good, too. Really nice big cot if you've got a little one. While it was just us and our two young kids, it could have accommodated another family or grandparents very comfortably. The location is very peaceful, there is a good distance between properties and there is plenty of outdoor space for games and running about. There's a large gas BBQ and a sheltered outdoor eating space. As you can see from the map there is no pub or shop within walking distance but there are plenty of facilities a short drive away and it made a great base for exploring Holkam, Blakeney, Wells, etc. Owners seemed very friendly and relaxed and were quick to respond when we needed a bit of help. There didn't appear to be satellite/cable, which wasn't an issue for us but it was listed on the website. Overall Clayton Lodge offers fantastic accommodation, with none of the disappointments or frustrations you often find renting holiday homes (they even had decent kitchen knives!).
A beautiful, spacious lodge
We have had a great time in Clayton lodge with everything you could need in there, after some great days out in Norfolk it was lovely to go back to a lovely peaceful place to sit and chill, or play badminton or kick a ball around and know your not going to be bothering neighbours as there is so much space, we loved it.
Thursford is located midway between the towns of Fakenham and Holt and only six miles from Wells-next-the-Sea. It is an excellent location for a holiday, offering visitors the chance to enjoy the peace and quiet of a rural setting but also providing easy access to the many attractions in the area. The village is best known for the Thursford Collection which is a unique assembly of steam powered engines, organs and fairground rides.
Thursford itself is renowned for the Thursford collection a unique assembly of steam-powered traction engines, organs and fairground rides. It's also the unlikely venue every year for the hugely popular Thursford Chistmas Spectacular Shows which attract audiences from across the UK. It also has a cafe and wonderful adventure playground for children.
Our local town is the wonderful Georgian Market Town of Holt where you can explore the many antique shops. Alternatively the historic religious centre of Little Walsingham is nearby or slightly further afield the wonderful selection of shops at Burnham Market.
The coast is not far away, with sailing, coastal walks, bird-life as well as the big beaches at Cley, Wells-next-the-Sea, Holkham and Brancaster. The classic 'must-do' is a visit to the 500-strong colony of wild seals on Blakeney Point. The best way is on one of the seal trip boats that run each day on the tide from Morston or Blakeney quay... it's a lovely, sheltered trip and the seals are so used to the boats that you can get very close. Tickets can be purchased on the quayside or at the Anchor Pub in Morston but it's best to book in advance.
Award-winning Pensthorpe Natural Park is a 10 minute drive which is mix of meandering nature trails, beguiling woodland walks, and a showcase for British wildlife and nature conservation. As one of the leading Norfolk attractions, it's a brilliant place to visit, with beautiful gardens, spectacular wildlife and magnificent adventure play...nature's way!
The grand estates at Holkham Hall, Felbrigg, Blickling, Houghton Hall and Sandringham are within easy reach. Or try the vintage steam train running between Holt and Sherringham.
Our nearest restaurant is The Crawfish (1 mile), a converted pub serving great Thai food. Alternatively the Chequers at Binham (4 miles) does great pub food alternatively there is a restaurant and fish and shop The Norfolk Riddle in Walsingham (3 miles). The Kings Head, in Letheringsett (5 miles) and The Wiveton Bell (6 miles) are both excellent pubs and worth making a reservation.
Alternatively do try the Old Forge in Thursford serving excellent seafood or further afield the Victoria at Holkham or Morston Hall in Morston for Michelin starred dining.
