About this property

Excellent location, great holiday apartment located in the Dunas Douradas resort and within a very short walk to a fabulous golden sandy beach. The resort facilities include large pool, pool bar, restaurant, coffee shop, tennis courts, mini-market and staffed reception offering concierge service.

The apartment comprises master bedroom with en-suite and a twin bedroom with adjoining bathroom. A third room with bunk beds provides extra sleeping facilities for kids/ teenagers.

The apartment is open plan with a fully equipped modern kitchen that opens through to the dining area and the living room. Folding glass doors open totally up at the end of the apartment with distance view of the ocean from the living room, just perfect to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. The resort pool area is only accessible to guests.

Almancil- Dunas Complex

This apartment was very clean and has everything you need, we would definitely book this property again. A big thank you to the owners Sharon and Andrew they are just great to deal with. We had a super holiday thank you!

Lovely location and appartment

Great communication with owners throughout the process. Lovely appartment and great facilities. Owner of the bar and pool lovely. Great stay and very safe in these tricky times.

Nice location & great weather

Good points - *apartment is spacious & clean *resort staff are friendly & helpful *delicious rolls sold in the onsite mini market *adult pool area is nice with plenty of loungers & space *great position to get to beach and host of delicious restaurants Bad points - *apartment is dated & kitchen is not suitable for cooking much *air conditioning in 2nd bedroom smelt of mould so couldn't be used *no private outside space (which we knew, but the reality was frustrating) *no curtains in the living area - no privacy, and very unpleasant at night *living area looks out onto a main road where coaches park up with their engines running waiting for guests from the Ria Park Hotel *baby/kids pool has steps all around it - terrible design, and is also right by the cafe, which is not a good position when you have noisy kids! *apartment is too far from where you park the car when unloading heavy bags, or lots of shopping This apartment might be much more suited to a family with older kids, but for us with a 4 yr old & a 6 month old it didn't work very well unfortunately, and we won't be returning for that reason.

Comfortable apartment in quiet complex

We enjoyed a short stay recently in this comfortable, clean, well equipped apartment, situated about 10mins walk (uphill on the walk back!) from the beach. The complex was quiet and had a large, very clean swimming pool with plenty of sun beds available. We enjoyed an excellent meal at Xenia the restaurant in the complex and also at 'Monica's' which is a short drive away. We had excellent communication from the owner, prior to our visit, always answering all queries very quickly. All staff in the complex were very polite and spoke good English. The reception staff were exceptionally helpful and always eager to help when necessary ( they lent my daughter a hairdryer!!)

Perfect destination for either a weekend or longer

I lived in this area 30 years ago! Although now almost unrecognisable it is still fabulous and the best bits remain! Julia's Beach Bar better than ever and the walk to the beach is fine. We stayed for a long weekend: didn't bother with a car: enjoyed wonderful coffee on the terrace at Dunas Douradas: deliciously long lunches at the beach and lots of walking through the surf. This is the first break my husband and I have had on our own for the best part of 20 years and we are already planning a return visit in December. He is now truly converted to the benefits of a short, stress-free break. The property was perfect in every way: very clean and well maintained: the resort staff were friendly and helpful and the owners sent excellent information. We have already recommended to several friends!

Why they chose this property

We were introduced to Dunas Douradas by some good friends and we all had such a fantastic time that we returned a few months later and decided to purchase this apartment and haven't looked back. It's a fantastic place to spend time with the family and we love spending the day at the nearby golden sandy beach enjoying warm climate and outdoor/beach lifestyle. It's also a great to have a Beach BBQ and glass of wine whilst watching the sun set over the Algarve. At the beachfront are world famous beachfront restaurants such as Julia's, Maria's and Izzy's that serve wonderful food.

What makes this property unique

The close proximity of Faro airport makes it great for short breaks / long weekends too. It is also great for golfers as there are two championships golf courses within a few minutes of our apartment.
