WE'RE SORRY TO SAY HURRICANE MATTHEW CAME FOR A VISIT AND LEFT A HUGE MESS THAT WILL TAKE A COUPLE OF MONTHS TO CLEAN UP AND FIX.
We plan on filling the calendar for 2017, please continue to inquire, we'd love to accommodate stays after we are new and improved by first of the year.
All the comforts of home in this cozy, private, 3 bedroom, 2 bath beachside house. Located between A1A and the Atlantic Ocean. A lovely stroll from the house to the dune to enjoy a day at what feels like your own private beach. Only the people that live here use this beach... and you.
Just 3 miles North you'll find Marineland where you can spend a day swimming with the dolphins, snorkel or scuba dive, in what is now the only 450,000 gallon, ocean fed tank, in the country, a wonderful experience.
20 minutes North you'll find Historic St. Augustine, so much to see and do it's a must. A half hour South you'll find World famous Daytona Beach, Nascar fans this is a must.
Orlando and all of it's attractions are worth the ride, easy to get to and from, can easily be a one day trip from here.
The hostess provided excellent communication before and throughout our stay. There were many activities from state parks to attractions near both Daytona and St Augustine that were within a short drive. The beach was very accessible and within a short walk. Would be a pleasent upgrade to renew the living room furniture and add landscaping to the backyard area. We would definitely stay here again.
This wonderful beach house is the perfect get away. Even though it's righ off of a busy street, you never hear the traffic. It's like you've escaped into a quiet, peaceful slice of paradise.
My husband and I have never rented a property before but now we are hooked.
We only went out to eat our first night. The Funky Pelican is a great restaurant right on the beach, has a huge pier that you can walk out and watch the waves.
All of our other meals we prepared at the house.
There is a wonderful wine & cheese shop just down A1A, great cheese!!! There is also a Publix.
When we arrived there was 1 bicycle out front, I called Susan to see if there was another one in the garage, she said no but she would bring one from home the next day. Well she brought over a beautiful bike she found on Craigslist! Amazing!! We had our little dog with us and we put her in my backpack and rode bicycles to the beach. We went to the beach every day.
We only slept in the master bedroom, the bed was very comfy. The jetted tub was a nice treat. The house was just so cozy. Very clean and well stocked.
Susan is a gem!
My wife and I and our little dog spent five wonderful, peaceful days and nights in this lovely 3-bedroom house within walking distance of the beach and Washington Oaks State Park...we loved it! Best vacation we've had in years. As Floridians, we were pleasantly surprised to find this little east coast gem of a residential area right off State Road A1A and the beach with so little commercialized impact. This is close enough to St. Augustine for historical touring and dining or Flagler Beach for alternate fun. We'll be making a return trip again....
This is a wonderful house located in a neighborhood on the beach side of A1A on the north outskirts of Palm Coast. The house is well-furnished and has odds and ends that I didn't think to pack (i.e. band-aids). I was especially pleased with the kitchen, which was fully stocked including spices. I found everything I needed for dinners at home. The rooms were nice and the beds were really comfy. There are a LOT of board games-- a great added touch for rainy afternoons or family game night. There are also 3 bikes that are in so-so shape, but definitely work for rides down to the beach or the bike trail south on A1A.
There is a grocery store about 2 miles south. You can also go a bit further and cross the bridge into the city of Palm Coast which has Walmart, CVS, restaurants, etc. St. Augustine is maybe 30 minutes north if you take I-95 (easily accessible once you cross the bridge into Palm Coast).
We went to the beach every day and many nights we went back to look for turtles and watch the stars. JT's Seafood Shack is right down the road. The food is pretty good, but it was very crowded and really noisy inside. Outside was worse-- a loud band and a lot of drunk people who were just as loud. If that's not your scene I'd suggest trying lunch there. We spent a day at the outlet mall in St. Augustine. I'd been before but had not been to the smaller mall on the other side of 95. It was worth the trip. We went into St. Augustine again for a trip to the Castillo and to Ripleys (if you haven't been, it's reasonably priced and pretty interesting). Closer to the house is Ft. Mantanzas, which is small, but interesting and they take you over by boat.
The house itself is not on the beach; it's a good 5 minute walk or so down the street. However, if you are taking chairs, umbrellas, etc, you can drive a block or two south and park in empty lots right near the beach access. The beach itself is a gorgeous part of the Atlantic. It's one of the few unspoiled areas in that there are no condos or hotels and no driving on the beach. Even on the weekends the beach is not crowded. If you like Daytona or the Ft. Lauderdale strip, this isn't the place for you. If you want quiet beaches with more sea turtle nests than people, this is it.
The owner, Sue, is wonderfully accommodating and outgoing. If you need anything, she responds in a heartbeat. We plan to make this a yearly trip.
The house and yards for great. Everything was wonderful as always.
Look forward to our stay next year in July... The best place I have ever stayed and close to the beach and not far from the Daytona Speedway.
My Family and I (4 adults & 2 kids) had a wonderful time. We stayed for 1 week and were able to enjoy the wonderful beach right down the street. 20 Minutes away from St Augustine's Historic District and close enough to visit Orlando Universal Studios. The house was very clean and well kept. Very quiet street, only local residents seen driving through. Exactly as shown in the listing photos and descriptions. No surprises. Susan was very helpful. Left us a "Welcome note" with all contact #s to reach her if needed and information on nearby restaurants. (We loved the food at Joe's Italian restaurant). 2 minutes from Publix where we rented Redbox movies after the day at the beach! Sorry we couldn't stay longer! Would definitely stay again when given a chance and recommend to everyone.
The Gonzalez Family.
