Welcome to The Penthouse, a lovely apartment located above the Cove Bar and Restaurant and opposite Maenporth Beach. It's the perfect choice of holiday accommodation for either a large family, or an extended one. Literally, a few minutes from the beach, and a 10 minute drive to the bustling town of Falmouth where you'll find something of interest for everyone in your party. It's decorated throughout in neutral shades which reflects the light and makes the property feel spacious, even when there are eight people milling around, each looking for breakfast!
The Penthouse and Cove 1 share an entrance hall, so from here, you'll pop up the stairs and into the Penthouse. You'll find a spacious living area with French doors leading onto the large patio, and outstanding views of the beach almost outside the window. There are three cream sofas and a matching armchair, positioned to face either the TV or the view! Tasteful soft furnishings and original pieces of artwork and ceramics really add to the feel of luxury. The dining area has its own space where there is plenty of room to spread out over a long, family supper. There's a sideboard here for placemats and crockery which makes laying the table quick and easy. The well-equipped galley kitchen is a mix of glossy white kitchen units and chrome accessories. Throw the patio door open in the morning and prepare breakfast to the sound of the waves breaking on the shore.
There are four bedrooms - the master has the king-size bed and en-suite shower room. There are two double rooms - one with an en-suite bath and shower room, and both have French doors onto the patio. The fourth room is a twin opposite the family bathroom. All the bedrooms have ample storage with wardrobes and chests of drawers. One adorable feature of these rooms are the teddy bears - yes, there's one in every bedroom, individually dressed and just asking for a bedtime cuddle. The patio runs the length of the Cove Restaurant and had a large dining table and chairs. You'll also find a parasol in the cupboard at the top of the stairs. It's a perfect space for lingering over family breakfasts, or even for relaxing for the afternoon with a good book and a glass of something chilled.
We'll have a luxury welcome hamper ready for your arrival - wine, Taylors filter coffee, Smugglers tea, Cornish biscuits and milk.
You'll have full use of the leisure facilities, free of charge. The Penthouse has been awarded a 3 Star Gold Award rating by Quality in Tourism. There is a returnable £100 deposit against damages on this property, and one designated car parking space.
The Maenporth Estate is just two miles from Falmouth and overlooks the beautiful Maenporth Beach. It's a private complex with a coded entrance gate, making it safe and secure for all guests.
Set in 29 acres of natural woodland, with stunning views of the cove, it's a perfect base for family holidays. You'll find two all-weather tennis courts, a children's play area, and, of course, the Leisure Centre where we have our indoor, heated pool, sauna and Jacuzzi. There are pool and table tennis tables - all free of charge.
The famous award-winning Cove Restaurant is on site, or if you'd prefer something simple, try the Life's a Beach Cafe - you guessed it, on Maenporth beach, for fresh crab sandwiches or a Cornish clotted cream ice-cream. Two miles along the coast and you'll come across Helford Passage and the wonderful Ferryboat Inn which specialises in serving local seafood dishes. From here you can catch the foot ferry across to Helford Village, or hire a rowing boat or paddle board for the afternoon.
Maenporth's a sheltered cove with shallow waters, making it perfect for all kinds of family beach activities: the little ones will love paddling, splashing daddy, and clambering through rock pools. There's plenty of sand and piles of pebbles for sand castle building, and beautiful clear water for swimming.
Arvor Sea Kayaking offer guided kayaking trips throughout the year, and Cornwall Divers will take you on a scuba diving course from the beach! And, at low tide, you may spot the famous Scottish trawler, Ben Asdale, that was wrecked off the Maenporth coast on 30th December 1978.
The nearest town is Falmouth - the third largest natural harbour in the world - take a boat trip along the Carrick Waters to a smuggler's cottage, or hop on the ferry to St Mawes. Visit the Maritime Museum, great for children with its hands-on approach. Catch some the Grand Mediaeval Jousting at Pendennis Castle. Or simply sit with a cold glass of white wine and watch the boats glide by.
Whatever you choose to do, you'll be sure to unwind from the stresses of life, and simply relax...
