'Les Hirondelles' comprises 3 attached Gites and is situated in the Lower Normandy countryside of La Vallée de La Sée, and surrounded by lush green hills. Ideally located for exploring this historic region – including the D-Day Landing Beaches (tours can be arranged), Mont Saint Michel, Avranches, Villedieu-les-Poeles (the famous copper-making town), Granville, Domfront and Bayeux Tapestry and British War Cemetery.
Just over the border in Brittany, visit the beautiful port of Saint Malo with its ramparts, the medieval town of Dinan on the River Rance and Fougéres, which has the largest medieval fortress in Europe.
'Les Hirondelles' is easily accessed from three ports – Saint Malo, Cherbourg and Caen – but also consider Le Havre and Calais.
Your English hosts, Helen and Dave, live on site and so are readily available with advice and assistance when needed. We can also provide meals – a Salad on arrival and a 4-Course Evening Meal twice a week.
The bed (or twin on request) will be made up with good quality cotton percale bed linen, towels are provided too. You will find a tray in the kitchen with tea, coffee and sugar, and milk and a bottle of wine to welcome you in the fridge.
This Gite (Gite 2) comprises a living area with comfortable seating, dining table and 4 chairs, woodburner, TV/DVD (English Freeview channels), Wi-Fi, small corner kitchen with gas cooker and fridge. On first floor, one Bedroom with King-size bed and ensuite shower room. Outside, garden furniture.
Shared 10m x 5m swimming pool (June/September) and secluded sundeck. Chalet provides a seating area for guests, local produce and information on places to visit.
Large communal garden area with BBQ, table and chairs, pergola.

The area is great for walking and cycling with many marked trails and routes (we can provide maps) kayaking and rock-climbing in the Suisse Normand region, around an hour away.
Nature lovers will enjoy the huge range of birds to be seen from the garden, including buzzards and herons, hunting birds.
There are many beautiful gardens to visit including the Parc du Chateau de Balleroy, nr Bayeux, the Parc Floral de Haute Bretagne nr Rennes, and the Jardin de Montmarin with its parkland reaching down to the shores of the River Rance, not far from Saint Malo.
